Hi,

Have a look at http://bit2brit.co.uk, we buy/sell bitcoins in the UK at good exchange rates.

You can buy bitcoins here:http://bit2brit.co.uk/buy-bitcoins-uk, and sell bitcoins here: http://bit2brit.co.uk/sell-bitcoins-uk.

Please email us on [email protected] if you have any questions.

Best Regards,

Definitely go with Britcoin. I've used it and had no problems. Totally legit.

I have no problem logging in, and there is quite a lot of trading going on right now so I guess other people don't have problems either.

I'd rather use britcoin than anything else tbh as genjix has been involved in britcoin for a while, seems to be committed to it and although the site is clearly 'beta', it is functional.  Also he is just down the road so if he stole my money I could turn up at his house with a bat...  but no, seriously I'd much rather use an exchange in the same legal jurisdiction as me.

My account is in the UK but I don't live there right now.

Britcoin login with OpenID is not working and apparently hasn't been for at least 3 days!

I'd say go with Britcoin Amir may be a bit slow but he's 100% reliable and I've yet to see a moan post that hasn't been down to peeps not reading what he says on the site and in the Britcoin thread.
I mean once you're in and trading then  Grin Grin Grin you're sorted sure a 100% cash out might take an extra day but so....

Oh and happy trading.

Where abouts in the UK are you? If you are in around London/Essex area, I'd be happy to do an 'in person' exchange (providing we agreed a rate).

I know there is Britcoin but it looks clunky and the transfer times are long.

I'm looking for an easy and safe option to buy bitcoins. I have a UK bank account (HSBC). I want to buy 10 coins.

What's my best option if I want ease and safety. I refuse to deal with MtGox. Is Britcoin still my best option?

Once BitInstant.com opens, you can use paypal or liberty reserve.

For now, if you want to send me via paypal, I'd be happy to fund your paypal account.

If you want to wait a few days, we'll be opening up bitinstant to beta testers

britcoin or bitcoin7 using paysafe cards loose 5%. But it all depends on what exchange is offering what.

10BTC is a pretty small amount for an "investment", so I see no problem with using Britcoin. If you were looking to purchase say 1000BTC, then yes you might have a problem as it's a small exchange, but for your amount it is by far the easiest solution.

I find that deposits take anything from 2 hours to 1 day to clear, so it's far from "long".

Britcoin is probably the best option still. Yes it might take a few days for the funds to clear in their account (they have to manually process them) but they don't have any fees and once the money is in there BTC to £ and vice versa are instant, i.e. if you buy BTC you have them instantly once the sale has gone through.

Tradehill says this:

Although we do not currently support direct British Pound deposits you can still easily fund your TradeHill account from a GBP denominated bank account! Your bank will allow you to convert your British Pound funds to US Dollars and then send them to our bank. For more information please see our international transfer options located under the USD currency.

I'd rather not send international wire. Not only will I lose on the fx conversion to USD but the wire also costs 9 quid! I'm not that desperate to buy BTC that I will lose 10% before I even look at the spread!
