So basically, Bitcoin nodes are computers that run Bitcoin software and are connected to the Bitcoin network. Bitcoin nodes validate, broadcast, process and store BTC transactions. BTC transactions are batched and stored into groups called blocks. You can search more at the internet for more info about Bitcoin nodes. I hope it helps. https://www.cnbctv18.com/cryptocurrency/bitcoin-node-and-everything-you-need-to-know-about-running-it-14166132.htm

Technically, there are a couple of different types of nodes and they do different things depending on context.

Generally speaking, there are full nodes, mining nodes (miners), pruned nodes, lightning nodes, lightweight nodes, and cloud nodes. They all verify all of the transactions and all of the blocks on the blockchain but not all of them keep a complete record of it.

I don't know why you need to ask this question but for your reference and guide here is the link:
https://bitcoin.org/en/full-node
if you are going to run a bitcoin node try to run it on a vps mostly nodes are run via this setup, where in you just need to buy it online with certain specs there is a certain price for it , per year using pc would not be a good idea.

Thanks for sharing the link and I have followed other suggestions on the thread to learn more about Bitcoin nodes and very soon I will be setting up one on my PC.

I already ordered for comparable PC that could ru d Bitcoin nodes effectively as my old laptop lacked the necessary memory to run Bitcoin nodes.

Am diving more into practical practice very soon and I will keep this thread updated as I progress in bitcoin technicality.

I know this may sound wired to some people but I am sure we have a lot of newbies like myself and even old members of the forum who will find this question appealing to their desire to know what a Bitcoin node is, and how it works in its right sense.

What is bitcon node?

What is it function in the Bitcoin network?

How can a novice get the best knowledge to successfully run a node?

What are the benefits of running a Bitcoin nodes on you personal PC?

How long does your computer need to remain active for a successful node operation?

Mastering Bitcoin (book)

Node types and Roles
Quote
Although nodes in the bitcoin P2P network are equal, they may take on different roles depending on the functionality they are supporting. A Bitcoin node is a collection of functions: routing, the blockchain database, mining, and wallet services. A full node with all four of these functions is shown in A Bitcoin network node with all four functions: wallet, miner, full blockchain database, and network routing.
The extended Bitcoin network

By running your own nodes, you don't have to send data to other nodes when broadcasting your transactions. It helps to not leak your identity and you have better privacy.

But here in the forum, asking the right question often open one up to various answers and suggestion which are mostly out of the knowledge banks of the such member making it easier to understand and be risky for newbies to rely on them to make a better decision.
Sure; but emphasis on 'the right question'. The right question is one that has not been answered here and elsewhere thousands of times. And it's not even crucial in the sense that if a newbie were to misunderstand 'what a Bitcoin node' is, it wouldn't put them at risk or anything.

It would be more important to make sure they don't misunderstand the importance of keeping a seed phrase secure or something of this sort; lack of knowledge on that topic is actually maliciously exploited in the wild.

misleading information from the various search engines
Also keep in mind I never recommended a specific search engine, but specific sites that have correct, well-explained articles on almost all beginner questions. You should have made a thread that features those sites and maybe the most important pages from each site.

That would have been more helpful; kind of a 'Beginner 101 must-read links' collection that would actually answer tons of different questions.
Instead of a dedicated thread for a single, for beginners probably relatively niche, question, in which you don't even answer the question but ask people to do it for you.

Well, you are right!
But as a newbie --you should not also rely on other opinions, always verify what they have said because it will perhaps answer their wrong perception or wrong thought. You should also study technically about bitcoin and how it runs the full nodes, I suggest a Youtube video is quite good that can explain very well than reading articles. There are too many sources that you can gain knowledge regarding how nodes work -- and I think you need to have DYOR for this.

Maybe unpopular opinion, but I don't think we need a topic for such questions.
Doing the tiniest bit of web search; between Learnmeabitcoin, The Bitcoin Wiki and Bitcoin Stackexchange, such beginner questions are answered without asking them over and over again.

I also strongly believe that people learn better (and make the forum a better place) if they think about a question, look it up through a (decent) web search engine, or the sites I recommended above, before asking.
Thank you for this responds, well we have several sources to gain knowledge about any topic we fine interesting for our understanding, why I choose to ask the question here on this forum is because of the fact that one can get misleading information from the various search engines.

A Bitcoin node is a computer that runs the Bitcoin software and helps to maintain the decentralized network of Bitcoin. It does this by validating and relaying transactions, as well as helping to enforce the rules of the Bitcoin protocol.

One of the main functions of a Bitcoin node is to validate transactions and blocks. When a node receives a new transaction, it checks to make sure that the transaction is valid and follows all of the rules of the Bitcoin protocol. If the transaction is valid, the node will then forward it on to other nodes in the network. Similarly, when a new block is mined, the node will check to make sure that it follows all of the rules of the Bitcoin protocol, and if it does, it will add the block to its copy of the blockchain and forward it on to other nodes.

To get the best knowledge to successfully run a Bitcoin node, it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the technical details of the Bitcoin protocol, as well as the various software tools and resources available for running a node. This may involve reading technical documentation, participating in online forums or discussion groups, and perhaps even joining a Bitcoin development community.

There are several benefits to running a Bitcoin node on your personal computer. For one, it helps to strengthen the decentralized nature of the Bitcoin network by providing additional resources for validating and relaying transactions. Additionally, running a node can give you a greater understanding of how the Bitcoin network works and how it is secured, which can be useful for anyone interested in the technology.

As far as how long your computer needs to remain active for a successful node operation, it depends on the specific hardware and software you are using, as well as the level of activity on the Bitcoin network. In general, it is recommended to keep your node running as much as possible, as this helps to ensure that it is able to process and validate transactions in a timely manner. However, it is not necessary to keep your computer running constantly, and you can still run a node effectively even if your computer is turned off for short periods of time.

What are the benefits of running a Bitcoin nodes on you personal PC?
For privacy reasons.

primarily nodes keeps the network running by validating transactions, and securing the network.
Nodes validates both bitcoin transactions and mined blocks

Google is very friendly to a question like this.
Why google when there is a forum like this that some users can give you the appropriate and best links to read from, rather than Google ads that can be from scammers.

The advantage could be, there's no intermediary involved that can improve your privacy or you have complete privacy that surely you own your coin and ensure that your coin is safe.
Running full node using Tor means privacy, but noncustodial wallet means full control while SPV type means no privacy. Running full node still means online, do not see anything online to be completely safe. You can connect cold storage or hardware wallet to full node or your own server.

Running a full node on your personal PC has lots of economic importance and one scary benefit is that it can kill your computer if it has low memory space. So, it's economical to run a full node on Raspberry Pi than a PC.

What is bitcon node?

Any electronic machine capable of participating in running the protocol of the blockchain network. Nodes makes up the network and when one node is down it doesn't affect the network. Like in corel draw nodes are connected to other nodes to shape an image, without nodes the network cannot exist, though its impossible to have no single active node.

What is it function in the Bitcoin network?

As the governing structure of the blockchain network, nodes have numerous functions to perform, primarily nodes keeps the network running by validating transactions, and securing the network.
