Most other cryptos now have an official twitter account -- (for example @ethereum is the official twitter account of the ethereum foundation, and so forth for most coins). What is the twitter account that best represents Bitcoin?

Bitcoin doesn't have an official Twitter. Just like nobody owns the email technology, nobody owns the Bitcoin network.

As such, nobody can speak with authority in the name of Bitcoin.

Hahahaha.  What blatant lies.  Do you even code, bro?

I once wanted to open a bitcoin account, but I'm afraid that that platform will ask for verification. I believe the government will do it coz they will hold most of the bitcoins.

There is no official Bitcoin twitter account. The @Bitcoin account has changed hands several times and it's previous owner was a Bcasher who used the account for shilling BCH.

I always thought it was strange how supposedly decentralized projects had official twitter accounts. Even if Vitalik isn't directly controlling the @Ethereum account the Eth. Foundation can still use it to exert outsized influence by having an account that is seen as an official mouthpiece.

For those who are now starting to scream: "bitcoin.org!", here is a quote from the website in question:
Quote
Bitcoin.org is not Bitcoin's official website. Just like nobody owns the email technology, nobody owns the Bitcoin network. As such, nobody can speak with authority in the name of Bitcoin.
https://bitcoin.org/en/about-us#owntxt4-title

I think this statement says it all. I mean, bitcoin, as we all know, is a decentralized currency. Hence, it has no owner and no one controls it. So I think it does not have an official social media account and an official website as well. All I see, especially on Twitter, are accounts with name of bitcoin in it but just stating news about it or updates but not necessarily an official account of the coin.

Since the owner or the creator I should say of bitcoin remains anonymous up to this, day, by his own means and wants, you would not find a single official bitcoin twitter page or account, so better tp stick with groups and communities liks the ones that are on telegram since there, you'd find like-minded people who you can gain insights and information from.

No, it doesnt have but you can see tons of accounts  that do correlate with Bitcoin but talking solely on Bitcoin twitter account then it doesnt exist at all.
If it does then whose the one been handling it? Of course it would be satoshi but since no one really owns bitcoin even into its creator itself
satoshi created btc so he owns it and if satoshi showned himself at the start , he can create an official social media accounts for btc but since satoshi is identity is unknown , we need to look for what next in satoshi  , something that has a solid knowledge and background in btc . whenever i look for btc accoun in twitter i follow those who have alot of followers or much better if that account is already verified but looking at the contents if what they are tweeting is also i do . i dont want to follow btc accounts that arent active or only post bullshits

Most likely Satoshi didn't think of owning a Twitter account at that time. After all, he just wanted to start the foundation and just leave. Whoever that managed to secure those handles are happily raking in so much money now though.
Satoshi's vision was exactly that though, not to have a centralized authority that "owns" Bitcoin. However, there are a number of related social medias that could come across as "official" to new users, and they absolutely could misrepresent the "brand". I don't think this is happening at the moment, but I don't tend to use Twitter, and related platforms. I'm pretty sure that one of the Bitcoin handles is either confirmed, or heavily believed to be controlled by Ver though.

There is no specific twitter for bitcoin and ethereum these are just people in a community that would like to spread the awareness of the people through the use of bitcoin and ethereum as you can see for now there are a lot of people who would like to invest in this coins and one of the most popular and known platform social media is the Twitter so it's easier to them to find out what is the information they need however it's prone to the fake news only people who do not understand yet becomes the victim of this fake information. For example. "Sell your bitcoin it will drop in 20 hrs", " Hold this coin it will pump as bitcoin soon" and more.

If you expect to see official account, its impossible because Bitcoin is Community driven project, but if you expect to see announcement or post regarding bitcoin, u can see it on https://bitcoin.org . I wonder if Bitcoin have official account then who will handle it? Also its very risky if the account hacked.
An acceptable and reasonable view, it seems that there are many answers between existing and non-existent in this thread. but if you look at your explanation and others, I seem to really agree. because how Bitcoin will move on social media devices, which do exist and are available. because obviously no one will be able to handle it and the most dangerous, of course, if someone hacks into an account and provides misleading information, it is certainly not good for Bitcoin itself.

bitcoin is unique, even the original owner that many people say is Satoshi, no one ever knows who he really is. Pure bitcoin goes the way the community wants it to.
whatever can be used as a reference just use as long as it's good.

Bitcoin is different from other cryptos. As its founder is pseudonymous, it is currently not managed by any institution or organization. It proves itself from the very beginning when it comes to decentralization. For this reason, it does not have an official account managed by any institution like other cryptocurrencies. More than that, it has a worldwide community. If you search for the #Bitcoin hashtag, you will see how big it is.

Ethereum has a Twitter handle because the owner is known. You can not expect the same from bitcoin which has an unknown owner. Yes I know they say bitcoin is founded by Satoshi. But who is Satoshi. Has anyone seen him in person or his picture? None has. For many people Satoshi is even a fake name which does not exist. That can even be a reason for the lack of official handle for it.

Most likely Satoshi didn't think of owning a Twitter account at that time. After all, he just wanted to start the foundation and just leave. Whoever that managed to secure those handles are happily raking in so much money now though.

I feel that bitcoin having an official account would create other problems and would affect one of its  foundational philosophy, which is decentralization. So, bitcoin twitter handle would make bitcoin to be traceable to a person, the government may require such people to reveal who is Nakamoto Satoshi. I feel bitcoin should be seen as a community and all the account relating to it are support from community members.

Bitcoin is a community thing, so you will find that different community channels and websites related to Bitcoin are run by different individuals/admins.
There is this Twitter account - https://twitter.com/Bitcoin, But I think it's under the control of the same person behind https://bitcoin.org
satoshi as the person/group care(s) about privacy and anonymity obviously don't want to disclose real identities with social media platforms. Twitter and Facebook are not platforms for privacy or anonymity from the reasons they were born.

I can not skip the twitter account of the forum, the official one. The quoted post is the confirmation of theymos on that account with inquiries from community about it legitimacy.

Twitter @bitcointalk is official, but I only use it for outage notices and such. If there are no problems, then there will be no @bitcointalk messages.

I don't use social media. If you think that some social media functionality would be useful (such as pointing to interesting posts), feel free to do it yourself. If it's an interesting project, I might be willing to create APIs to help you. But since I don't use these sites, I don't even know what people would want.

(....)
I usuay check followers of new project to ascertain the support from the community of cryptocurrency.
It is difficult to asses a particular cryptocurrency by just number of followers since there are lot of ways to increase the number of the followers, just like paying some bots to follow you or some dummy accounts that will follow you to increase the followers. There are lot of project that has lot of followers but the quality of project is very poor.
Speaking of Bitcoin twitter, logfiles is right, Bitcoin got a community, all of the social media that tells it is Bitcoin, most of those are under the control of some person who are volunteering to manage the community for Bitcoin.

I've heard or seen a couple of times some references to the Twitter address presented in the link but then, it's never official since, there is little or no use for it. Which ever I formation you might need is available on Bitcointalk.org and the Twitter is more of a publicity campaign platform but then, bItcoin isn't really looking out for such campaign because, it's already had that.
So, the Twitter will do more to ignorant citizens of the society than it would do to even the least actual newbie of the community.

That's what I thought. But I'm doing a twitter network analysis for crypto, so I'm trying to think of what to do for Bitcoin.

Do you mean sentiment analysis? What do you hope to use the results for?

If a coin has official twitter account it just means that it's a centralized shitcoin. You mentioned @ethereum - that's one example of it, it has completely centralized development which heavily relies on just few people and especially its founder Vitalik Buterin. Bitcoin is among very few coins, if not the only coin, which has no single leader and instead relies on hundreds of developers that are free to come and go, and all decisions are reached through consensus rather than being forced by a few people.

Unlike most of those other cryptos you are trying to compare bitcoin to. Bitcoin doesn't have an outright owner who controls it. Most of the altcoins you see have actual owners who go ahead to employ other workers for the project such as the Legal team, the sales team, social media team and all those other officers. Now this is totally different for Bitcoin. Most work such as development is done by volunteers.

I think It was what satoshi wanted. People who like Bitcoin will support and promote it minus expecting a salary in return. So it's a reason we don't see "official" website or social media accounts.

yea that is a good candidate. I have been reading this article about the account: https://news.bitcoin.com/who-controls-the-bitcoin-twitter-account/

CoinGecko lists @btc, so that is another candidate.

I was just curious what are some other good candidates.
