Can some please tell me What is blockchain?

blockchain is a decentralized public distributed ledger of all cryptocurrency transactions, comprised of unchangable, digitally recorded data in packages called blocks.

These digitally recorded blocks of data is stored in a linear chain. Each block in the chain contains data (e.g. bitcoin transaction), is cryptographically hashed. The blocks of hashed data draw upon the previous block (which came before it) in the chain, ensuring all data in the overall blockchain has not been tampered with and remains unchanged.

it allows market participants to keep track of digital currency transactions without central recordkeeping.

In broader terms blockchain is the backbone of the bitcoin technology. Blockchain is the mechanism implemented to circulate bitcoins, verify bitcoin transactions, maintain the bitcoins transaction integrity. From the technical point of view block chain is  transaction database shared by all nodes participating in a system based on the Bitcoin protocol. To understand this in deep way you could check bitcoin protocol information. All transactions are maintained in the form of shared ledger. A full copy of a currency's block chain contains every transaction ever executed in the currency. With this information, one can find out how much value belonged to each address at any point in history. Each block is related to previous on via a hash of previous block.
This is like having mechanism of blocks which have continuity and traceability from original block also known as genesis block to the newest block. Each and every transaction on block is irreversible.

Wiki can. Youtube can. Google can ... Don't be lazy to do some search.

EDIT: I'll happily answer you a specific question but the current one is way too wide.
