My idea for a crypto payment gateway is more like a direct crypto payment method.

It should have no escrow, no registration, privacy protection, free, opensource, and the most important thing is that the payment process must be completely on-chain, similar to a transfer.

So I create crydeal.com to try this idea.

There are many crypto payment gateways available and people are using them according to their needs. But what according to you is an ideal crypto payment gateway?
An ideal BTC payment gateway would probably be one that uses the lightning network for transactions as a first, to make transactions faster which is better for both the vendor and the customer. They should also provide scalability, so that if the business grows, there will be more transactions in less time, so they should be able to manage that.

Also, they should also have a feature for the vendor to directly convert the collected Bitcoins to fiat if they wish to, since Bitcoin is volatile and it can lose value in no time, to be on the safer side for the sake of the business, this option can be useful.

I think, payment gateway should be highly secure to prevent any potential fraud or hacking attempts. It should use the latest encryption technologies and have robust security protocols in place.

In terms of cryptocurrency support, the payment gateway should accept a wide range of popular cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and others.

I would suggest looking for a payment gateway that supports a wide variety of cryptocurrencies and has partnerships with a lot of different merchants and service providers.

You do not determine the ideal option, but rather the nature and model of your business that determines. In the end, when you create a business, you aim for profit, whether it is directly by reducing expenses, number of employees, operating costs, withdrawal and deposit fees, or indirectly, such as customer service, and improving its experience.
The open-source options are good for dealing with small activities, as a simple technical experience can reduce your fees to a large extent, but the larger the project, the more you need paid software.

I could have misread, but a crypto gateway is a way to access crypto right?

Cashapp has it's own bitcoin section where they facilitate the buying, selling, sending, and receiving of crypto right on the app. Unless I'm missing something, that sure sounds like a gateway into the bitcoin market, no?

Perhaps you can call such services a gateway to crypto market, but a "crypto payment gateway" is generally considered a service that enables merchants (like online stores) to accept cryptocurrency payments for goods or services.

So, imagine you are shopping online and you want to pay for your items with cryptocurrency. The merchant you are buying from needs a way to accept that payment and that is where the crypto payment gateway comes in. It is like a middleman between you and the merchant, making sure the payment goes through smoothly and securely, and converting the cryptocurrency into the merchant's preferred currency if necessary. Unlike a crypto gateway, which is primarily focused on accessing and interacting with cryptocurrencies, a crypto payment gateway is specifically designed to enable cryptocurrency payments for e-commerce and other types of transactions.

As already mentioned above, payment gateways are usually provided by a third party, but in the case of cryptocurrencies, there are also open-source solutions available. These solutions allow merchants to build their own payment gateway systems, which can provide greater control over the payment process and reduce reliance on third-party providers.

For me personally, it would have to be CashApp.

Please take another look at the thread title. Now, can you explain what CashApp has to do with Crypto Payment Gateways?

For me personally, it would have to be CashApp.

I know it's not perfect but it's super easy to use and really makes bitcoin more comfortable to manipulate.

Be careful, though, because I've had rejected transactions when trying to send to certain wallets from cashapp. That's a red flag.

CashApp relies on bank to be linked so it's not going to be everyone's favorite. It's also KYC, which is arguably an attack vector on bitcoin itself.

One green flag I see with cashapp is that they ONLY support bitcoin and the lightning network. They have no other support for any other alt-coin that I can see. They have respect for the market leader.

I'm assuming that the likes of BitPay are far easier to implement to your storefront compared to something like BTCPay.
Pfff. I think it's just the beloved third party. Merchants --and people generally-- want a third party to complain when something goes off track. It doesn't really matter if the third party will help them in the end; what matters is the feeling that you have a brother company seemingly willing to help. Both BTCPay and BitPay are roughly of the same difficulty to setup.

Regulation: The crypto payment gateway should be regulated by the relevant authorities, so as to ensure regulatory compliance and the safety of users' funds.
Regulation is not a priority for a Bitcoin related service. Compliance with regulatory authorities does not ensure security of user funds, but means that a third party arbitrate your crypto transactions.

Your priority should be decentralization with Bitcoin.

Unfortunately, if we are talking about a gateway necessary to support payments from a merchant, it is implausible that it is not regulated.

Use a non-custodial payment gateway if you are knowledgeable enough about cryptography. As a result, you will have complete control and won't need to worry about regulations or anything else. Hence, in my opinion, BTCPayserver is the best. It supports a variety of alternative coins and is unrestricted. But like I stated, you need to be a techie to avoid using a third-party server. Just wondering whether you're considering integrating a cryptocurrency payment gateway into your business. then conduct further study.

You have a business, with many customers, your wallet may not be able to handle huge number of transactions from customers, then use a payment processor.
Not only that, but businesses usually don't hold crypto. Their payment processors immediately converts it into fiat. If you run a business where you have certain costs (employer salaries, taxes, store rent, bills, etc.) you can't speculate what the future price of a volatile asset will be. 30 days in the future, your crypto could be worth 10% more or 10% less than what it was at the time you received it. You can't tell your employees and the taxman that you will pay them 10% less this month.

I'm assuming that the likes of BitPay are far easier to implement to your storefront compared to something like BTCPay.
Yeah, and that's why people grab that convenience and easier set up process instead of greater security, better service and no fees. BTCPay Server being self-hosted requires the clients to do most of the work when setting it up. Bitpay is a few clicks and exchanged messages with their support.

Idunno — BTCPay seems pretty great in a customer's perspective, not sure if there's anything more I'd need to be honest. Now, the problem is probably on the store owner's side if I were to guess. I'm assuming that the likes of BitPay are far easier to implement to your storefront compared to something like BTCPay.

There are many crypto payment gateways available and people are using them according to their needs. But what according to you is an ideal crypto payment gateway?

An ideal crypto payment gateway should meet a few key characteristics:

Security: The crypto payment gateway should be highly secure, with strong encryption to protect the user's personal and financial information.

Speed: The crypto payment gateway should process transactions quickly and reliably so that users don't have to wait too long to see their confirmed payments.

Customer Support: The crypto payment gateway should offer high-quality customer support, so that users can get help if they encounter any problems or difficulties.

Low Fees: The crypto payment gateway should offer low and transparent fees, so that users can avoid paying excessive fees for payment processing.

Regulation: The crypto payment gateway should be regulated by the relevant authorities, so as to ensure regulatory compliance and the safety of users' funds.

But what according to you is an ideal crypto payment gateway?

In my opinion, an ideal crypto payment gateway should be an open source self-hosted solution, like BTCPay Server. One big advantage of open source is that anyone can review the code and make sure it's secure. Plus, when you host the payment gateway yourself, you have more control over how it works and can customize it to fit your needs. And the best part? Self-hosted payment gateways are more affordable in the long run, since you don't have to pay ongoing fees or transaction charges to a third-party service.

For a very long time, crypto payment gateways like coin payments, go coin, and bit pay served as a way for businesses to get paid for transactions without having to go through numerous payment processes or even have a crypto wallet.
These days, most businesses employ this payment option because it's quicker, less expensive, more secure, and also gives them a means to connect with their customers. The gateway providers provide a special address to which the cryptocurrency is deposited. The address recipient converts the cryptocurrency to the desired currency for the merchant. Next, this money is deposited into that person's bank account.
