I don't know if any alt can hope to be higher than BTC, not in 5 years at least. Yes, the ideas behind Iota are wonderful, but are they more wonderful than the ideas behind the current top 10 alts? OK, except Dogecoin of course. There is something today's prices tell us and this is that ideas are not yet the driving force. Look at Bitcoin Cash for example. The smallest in terms of ideas and they are number 3.

You are very right about bitcoin cash. People always look at the price. IOTA needs to drive attention very quickly.

The market, it seems, is now in the process of pricing in that critique – and IOTA has certainly taken one on the chin.
The cryptocurrency traded at the daily low of $0.5210 at press time. As per CoinMarketCap, IOTA has lost more than 20 percent in the last 24 hours and, week-on-week, is down 23 percent.
The news of IOTA's broken hash function is certainly bearish in the short run as it means investors will need to come to terms with the reality that the cryptocurrency space is still new and thus vulnerable to such errors. https://t.co/Sp0hpo3ssI

I think IOTA has a lot of potential in long term. If it will be used in internet of things as expected it can gain a lot of value.
However, I don't think it will get market cap higher than Bitcoin, at least not very soon. So don't expect quick profit, but for long term investment it can be good.

Hi, I'm just wondering what your opinion on IOTA is. I mean there were obviously some negative press in the last days. But on the other hand, nothing changed on the great idea behind IOTA. Still there are many doubts if the technology can and will ever actually work.

And then there is the high amount of coins. To reach a price range of let's say 100$ per MIOTA the market cap must be very high (even higher than BTC is today). On the other hand IoT and M2M are big markets with huge potential.

With all this in consideration, do you think IOTA is a good (long term) investment? What are your expectations?

Thanks
