I think there will nothing happen in the 1st August, I don't know why this rumor has become viral on this site. you have to believe at first what you want to do then you have to start your journey, so bitcoin is a great ship which will carry you in a profitable land. so you have to believe in bitcoin. bitcoin will remain same year after year...
so don't be afraid of any rumor...

, you should continue your discussion in them rather than opening new thread. - Segwit2x is supposed to be activated on august 1st which might trigger split of bitcoin network.
- There is no simple words to explain the possible chaos we might see on that day.
- You can keep your bitcoins safely in addresses which is under your full control (you own their private keys)
