FOMO = Fear Of Missing Out
HODL = Hold (To stay invested in bitcoin and not to capitulate in the face of plunging prices)

some more crypto slang...

ATH = All time high
BEAR = a trader who believes prices will fall
WHALE = a trader with a fat account, usually one who is bullish on the price of bitcoin
BAGHOLDER or BAGHODLER = An investor who has been hodling for too long, and is left to face the consequences
TO THE MOON = a cry for bitcoin’s price to rise sky-high
GOXED = Being fooled. Derived from the closure of the MtGox in June 2011
ADDY = Bitcoin or other crypto-currency public key (address)

(taken from misc sources over the net)

HODL is a typo that happened mistyping hold. In the future days this will serve as a bitcoin word when a separate dictionary for cryptocurrency is generated. Few others were FUD, FOMO, etc

Can you explain what FOMO is, please!

sorry for OFFtopic

It means "Hold on for Dear Life", in short it is a terminology used in the cryptoworld and means hold on to your coins instead of selling them.

What is HODL. I keep seeing is used but I don't know what it stands for.

It's a Spoonerism for "hold", originally used in this drunken rant's title: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/i-am-hodling-375643

Or more recently, a backronym for "Hold On for Dear Life".

HODL is just hold, just another terminology in crypto and just a typo of hold. There are many more used in speculation like FOMO, FUD, etc. You often hear them when someone is speculating but I dont use hodl because I know it is a typo that became famous but even if that is the case I dont want to intentionally type hold as hodl. Its up to you if you will use it too or not but in my case I will not use it if possible.

It's a reference to this thread.

The point is that if you're not really good at trading, you shouldn't try to be because you'll end up making loads of big mistakes.

HODL is used for "hold" - it's a term that was invented by a psycho who did a typo and it became famous.
Whenever people talk here about holding their coins, they would rather say "hodl your bitcoins".

Means Hold On for Dear Life, or if you want to see it this way a distorted way of saying HOLD. I'm sure you would have guessed by the way people use it, but it refers to a person holding onto his coins no matter what, believing they'll bring him profit eventually.
