I mine IFC, NET, and QRK (alternately, not concurrently) pretty successfully on my laptop via CPUminer and a stratum proxy. On a good day I can clear 1000 IFC easy, or 20 - 30 NET or 10 QRK.

For GPU mining, I'm in a merged mining pool that mines BTC, DVC, IXC, and NMC concurrently. That is much slower going, of course, due to the higher difficulty.

Hope that helps!

Mine Primecoin, you can do it just using your CPU. Not need to get a new card.

I have asked this at other sites and I have yet to get a good answer. Can it be done. Is there one currency that you can mine without going out and buying a new expensive card? I dont care if I have to join a pool. I just want to know if it can be done. Ive been all over the internet and I just must be an idiot.

Maybe its because its obvious Im new to this. Those that know dont seem to want to go into it. I want to get going mining something. Ive got "CPU coins" will never make it. They are for "chinese botnets"Huh

So are these coins are destin to fail because they are for hackers?

Maybe it is a waste of time

But I have a feeling that someone out there will come along some day and say, "hey, I was new and someone told me "x" or "Try reading this link". or "you can mine a b c d e and f but I would only mine "b" because the other coins don't have this or that"

For clarity, I dont expect it to be easy. And I would have ran as far away as I could by now if I thought cryptocurrencies were going to be super easy to understand. There are so many of them and so much terminology associated with them that even though Ive spent countless hours reading about all of them, Im still new. I mean, you cant even ask a question on this site until you talk with other people who are new. Its problably for the best I guess. Ill know more when I trade in my bitcoins for a new brain after trying to wrap my head around this mining thing.

Any help would be great other than:

1. Stick to Bitcoin and litecoin (and no you cant mine them)
2. You are asking what condiment to put on food

Thanks,

Chris
