You can try to read all of the explanation and the project already used the fiat and gold to backed the project. But it still on the development. It will be the crypto that connected to the gold price.
It is bitcoin for sure,you know why?Because it has the hjighest amount and the highest number of investors.Many people think that eth can do the same as btc,but not really because btc is the largest cryptocurrency that is earning large amount of money every single Time and it is the most popular and known in the cryptoworld.
I watched an interview of florian homm, a german hedge funds manager. the interview is in german though.
he spoke about investing in cryptocurrency that is based on gold but he did not say the name of the coin.
i also did not properly understood how this should work.
is there anyone who knows that? he said that there is a lot of potential in it, especially in a financial crisis.

In my opinion there is no altcoin connected to gold as this two have there own differences...one differnces of alt to gold is the way and method of mining. no altcoin as of now as far as i know have also close to the price of gold.
in my opinion, the gold-related altcoin is separate. Because Altcoin has its own system and how to mine it is also different from gold. and fluctuating prices make a difference between the two.
i agree altcoin its because altcoin came from new technology using computer, altcoin mining using internet connection, gold mining came from land or came from mountain using of heavy equipment, so have a big defferent on that speculation, altcoin camparing to gold. 
There isn't a cryptocurrency connected to the gold price. Often prices of both crypto and gold will both move in the same direction as they are both seen as a hedge against geopolitical risk but that shouldn't be seen confused with a correlation.
If you want to invest in gold either buy physical gold or invest in a gold ETF.

one project i know which connected to gold is dgx or dgd, but i dont know the realationship between dgx and dgd, also dgd and gold price actually. Is there any great altcoin that is connected/backed by the gold price?

in my opinion, the gold-related altcoin is separate. Because Altcoin has its own system and how to mine it is also different from gold. and fluctuating prices make a difference between the two.
actually altcoin, gold, and dollar, almost the same. it's just that gold and the dollar are not too volatile like altcoin, and new altcoins keep popping up
