I think Radeon R9 295x2 Ethereum Mining is the best in mining Ethereum. It is around $600 with 51MH/s . The cost for the power is $1.44 but the  return per day is $3.54 not bad isn't it. In addition, you can have your payback in 170 days or less depends on the price of ETH.

both are important (perhaps a little more the wattage consumed)... so... you say that it'd be a good option RX 480?

personally i think the best option right now is the 1070 at $400 or around that, 480 is limited to ethereum only unless you want to pay for optimized algo privately

1070 is good on any algo(but for ethereum you need to wait some drivers that will be available in two weeks or so), or you can wait for the 1060, which seems good too

480 would be good if optimized for other algo but since in amd world top algo are private you get bad hash for neos for example, and also lyra2v2, and etheruem is not a top algo anymore

also it depend on your electricity, if for you is more important the initial investment or the wattage consumed

At the moment, what is the best GPU to mine ALT coins? (I don't mind if it is NVIDIA or AMD)
