I personally recommend Ledger nano S. I think it is very much secure and also easy to use. There are some other such as Ledger blue, Trezor etc. All of them are good and secure.

I guess' Ledger nano S is one of the most-popular hardware wallet on the market. Ledger Nano S, is both a secure and stylish option if your looking for a quality Bitcoin or altcoin hardware wallet.
almost everyone on this thread says that Ledgar Nano is the best. I agree also with that because in my opinion that ledgar nano is very safe. and to this day ledgar nano already has many useful features so we will be very comfortable to use it.

Hi All

The best Cryptocurrency Hardware for 2018:
Ledger Nano S Hardware Wallet
Trezor Bitcoin Wallet
CoolWallet Bitcoin Wallet
OpenDime Bitcoin Credit Stick
Bonus: Digital Bitbox

There's a reason you can always trust a hardware wallet.
Your private keys are store securely in a protected area of the device and connot transferred out in plain text.
Hardware wallets need physical confinrmation to execute a transaction. He who doesn't have your device at hand, cannot get access to your funds quickly.
Hardware wallets are immune to computer viruses.
Because companies use open source software for these devices, the device operation can be easily verified.

ledger nano is the best according to me but if you have to keep the btc for a long time without moving even a paper wallet is fine...

The best hard wallet is a ledger wallet but because I have  nothing of that wallet I use only paper wallet because it is safe also and I keep it away from water.

Trezor and ledger and the big two after that I would go keepkey, the only issue with Keepkey is it doesn't update very often on firmware.

There are lots of places you can store your bitcoins, but the place to avoid the most is on the exchange wallets, these are very vulnerable and has history of getting hacked, so unless you are trading, avoid the exchange wallets. The safest places to store bitcoins so far are the hardware wallets, you can chose between Trezor and Ledger Nano S. These are by far the best storage facilities, coz they mainly keep your coins off the internet making it difficult for unaccepted access. They also give you the option to verify every transaction before making them.

For long-term ‘HODL’ you should use a paper wallet or a Hardware wallet. I personally endorse using Hardware wallet as it offers great security as well as you can even use it for your day to day transactions.Hardware wallets promise enhanced security against software wallets in the case of theft or scams.

Ledger Nano S supports much more crytpocurrencies than the competitors (Trezor). They recently support even Bitcoin Private (Feb'18 fork). The other one is Trezor, which is very recognizable and secure too. Supports less cryptocurrencies. All the other ones are smallish brands.

Ledger cons: Ledger Nano S supports some other derivation path than other HW for Ethereum for some reasons.

Whatever you buy, buy it from original vendor to avoid scam.

I am currently inclined to buy a trezzor wallet, and currently outsourcing from our local supplier. I like to buy from an authorized supplier but it seems it is hard to find and I am worried with some reports about buying from not known supplier as hardware wallet might be compromised. For me, trezzor convinced as a preferred wallet, but I am willing to try ledger variants too in the future.
Both Trezor and Ledger sell from their original sites and you should not have a problem buying from them, including shipment abroad.

On the other hand, you can buy it from Amazon and some other established resellers and you should be OK too, but it is just a degree of security lower than buying from the original site.

Buying from some eBay resellers is just asking for trouble. True, you may save some $, but it may eventually cost you all your crypto-money.

When the product shipment arrives, you should inspect a security seal - to double-check that your device has not been tempered with.

The Ledger Nano S for me. Here, bitcoins are stored and are kept secure with the use of a microchip and a PIN code. Outgoing transactions will require button presses, so even if your computer was infected with malware, it could not move coins without your permission.

I haven't tried more than 1 hardware wallet so I can't give the accurate answer but I thought that I can give my review about Trezor wallet as I am using it since last few months. I wanted the compact hardware wallet to store my funds (mainly BTC and ETH) as the paper wallet was not flexible in my opinion for frequent use. I did some research and found that Trezor and Nano are good wallets in hardware category but I decided to go with Trezor due to easy availability (in my country) and unique design (unlike pen drive) and recommendation from experts in the crypto industry.

Choosing a wallet for bitcoin storage is also the most important aspect. This is so that the bitcoins stored in the wallet are safe and not easy to be tampered with by others. Among the recommended hardware wallets are the Ledger Nano S wallet, the Trezor Bitcoin wallet, the Keepkey Hardware wallet, the Coolwallet Bitcoin wallet, and the Digital Bitbox. All are among the most widely used wallets.

Trezor and ledger and the big two after that I would go keepkey, the only issue with Keepkey is it doesn't update very often on firmware.

Hardware wallets: Ledger or Trezor is the best for bitcoin storage. I know it may be expensive for newcomers but everybody must own at least one hardware wallet soon or later. You can keep your altcoins in the exchanges if the amount is low. Because some altcoin wallets need technical knowledge, if not your pc may be unsecure than exchanges. Trezor is around the longest and as a first hw wallet received a lot of security attention. So I suggest buying yourself a hardware wallet, from an official vendor to avoid scam, and it will give you options to grow your portfolio to some other coins too.

Ledger Nano S Bitcoin hardware wallet for me is the best one. Has a sleek design, intuitive user interface, a wide support of altcoins (Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Zcash, Dash, Stratis) and most importantly an attractive price tag. At the moment the Nano S sells for €79 which is around $99 making it the most affordable hardware wallet from the top 3 as well.

Top of my list for the best multi currency wallet for your cryptocurrency is the hugely popular Trezor Hardware Wallet. This multi-currency crypto wallet provides a very high level of security while still being extremely easy to use.

Trezor was the first Bitcoin wallet launched back in 2014 and offers users “cold storage” of multiple crypto assets together with the ability to spend your coins with the convenience of a hot wallet.

The Trezor Wallet is tiny at only 2.4 x 1.2 x 0.2 inches and weighs a mere 0.42 oz. It easily connects to your computer by a USB port.

The Trezor is so safe because it is an “isolated environment” used for offline transactions and it’s fitted with a small display screen so that to you can visually verify your transactions. (In fact, spending Bitcoins is secure even when using a compromised computer!)

The Trezor can be seen as “safe” for your crypto wealth and currently supports the following Bitcoin, Ethereum (+ all ERC-20 tokens), Ethereum Classic, ZCash, Litecoin, Namecoin, Dogecoin, Dash and Bitcoin Testnet.

The Trezor works by keeping private keys on the device and it authorizes transactions through your USB port. To use the Trezor, you will also need to download an app such as Mycelium and then you will be able to move your money around with ease.

The Trezor is compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, & Android and is my choice for the best multi-currency wallet available today.

There are many hardware wallets used by the traders and if you are interested in using hardware wallet for bitcoin alone then you can go for Trezor wallet which is considered to be the best hardware wallet for storing bitcoin. And for storing other crypto coins like Dogecoin, Neocoin, Bcash, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Bitcoin Gold like this Ledger Nano S support almost 23 crypto coins. I personally use both Trezor and ledger Nano S and till now there are no complaints from my side.

Hi there SangitAlam! There are so many hardware wallet out there. The only problem that will affect your choices is the price. I have lucky to have tried Trezor and Ledger Nano. Trezor boast that their product is the most secure cryptocurrency wallet which I found true because of a password plus a two factor authentication. However, for some this could be a additional hazel. What I just dont like about it is its design and a bit costly. Unlike Ledger nano which is a bit more simple and in a much lower cost. What ever you choose among those two, both drawback of them is when you lost it.

I think all of the hardware wallets could make our cryptocurrency safe, but if you wanted a hardware wallet which supports the coins that you have, then I would suggest buying Ledger hardware wallet, mostly it supports ERC20 tokens, but if you are only going to store bitcoin, then I would suggest buying Trezor hardware wallet. Hardware wallets purpose is to secure your coins even in offline.

Just make sure you understand that hardware wallets are also not the very best protection you can have.
* air-gaped offline device for signing transactions is much better security
* it has happened that hardware wallets had security flaws and needed to get updated
* if you don't pay attention to security you may lose your funds even before they reach your hardware wallet

There is no the 'best' hardware wallet.

The most commonly used hardware wallets are from ledger (https://www.ledgerwallet.com/) and trezor (https://trezor.io/).
They are pretty much equally secure.

There are still differences between both wallets.
Trezor's model is a small mini computer. Ledgers nano s on the other hand is architectured 'around secure elements'.

The nano s does support more altcoins than trezor (and also seems to be adding new coins more frequently than trezor).

I am currently using Ledger Nano S and I am not having any problem using it and its quite handy. The only problem is that, that time when a 15-year old boy attacked the wallet via backdoor.

Yes, that claimed the Ledger Nano S being hacked. But that attack was on purpose to alert the manufacturers about the flaw. They released an update now and got it fixed.

This is still up to you. But I can still suggest Ledger Nano S. Pros: Cheap, Handy, Cons: Might have errors, but can be fixed.

Yes ledger nano is one of the most safest wallet that I know and my funds are there are nothing any bad happens, in other words I didn't have any problems with it. Trezor is also good to use.

1.Ledger Nano S
2. Ledger Blue
3. Trezor

They told me that these hardware wallets are excellent and they are using it for a year now. But among them the most popular among bitcoin holders is Ledger Nano S. I dont know the reason why but it sure is famous.
