Your coins are gone only way to proceed is looking at legal action as many others have but weather or not they have been successful in recovering funds I do not know. No doubt the coins that have gone missing are in some private wallet locked away for him to some day sell elsewhere and he was aware all the time of what was going and it was his intention to gain at everyone else loss. Only time will tell as to what happened to all the coins and the coins that Gox recovered and, no doubt will be paid out among claims that are filed. I doubt very much, many are going to get anywhere close to anything that they had. More like a % of coins a person had. I will be surprised if any get coins back or a percentage of them. Will just have to keep an eye on the news and surrounding events to unfold.

mark has most likely hidden the funds in a brain wallet, he will do his stretch in jail, then come out to a healthy few million.

I wonder how many of those 200,000 coins will be eaten to finance Gox's funeral process.

There's no comprehensive answer as to what really happened. Only our French friend can answer that it's really not clear yet, if ever.

What do you mean when you say your coins were depleted?

You bitcoin are probably gone forever, there were claims that mt.gox found 200k coins from an old private key. The most possible think is that the court will force mt.gox to pay back the victims with those 200k coins.

Hi!

I had like 55 BTC in my Mt Gox account and it was depleted the spring of 2013 I think.

I have read some about the Mt Gox case, but actually, I dont quite get it all.
Like, is this a case only effecting Japan, and what happened?

Does anyone have the time just to sum up what has been going on? I guess my BTC is forever lost, but its atleast a bit comforting to know what has happened...

Best regards.
