Topic: what is the easiest way to see bitcointalk on a mobile? (Read 189 times)

It's probably better if I just visit the bitcointalk site on my desktop or laptop anyway as it gives me time away from all screens.
I don't know how accessing the forum on your PC or laptop lessens your screen time, but those are the best methods for reading and writing on this site.  I used to use my phone to do both, but it's a huge pain in the ass even if you have a decent sized screen.  Don't know about you, but I just can't type as fast or as accurately on a phone as I can on a real keyboard.

By the way, this topic (using bitcointalk on a mobile device) has sprung up quite a few times before, and I'm pretty sure Theymos has no plans to make a mobile-friendly version of the forum, at least until that new forum software gets rolled out.  Until then, I wouldn't even bother trying to use it on a phone--but that's just my opinion.  I know lots of people have no trouble whatsoever typing on those tiny phone keyboards.

Agreed. Its not impossible, but not really the easiest thing to do on a mobile either. It lessens my time because my phone comes everywhere with me and I may want to check conversations. Where as my PC and Laptop I generally only use while I'm working at home.

Thanks for reply Smiley

I find it hard when looking at bitcointalk  in a browser on a mobile. I am wondering is there an app or recommended browser that is more mobile device friendly?

I tend to have my eyes open in a well lit room when I do it although I suppose a dark room would also work. It’s good to use a phone that’s well charged with an active internet connection as well. Other than those tips, I would say if you’re still having issues, try using a desktop computer. Mobiles do have their limitations. Especially when it comes to small text and buttons like this site has.

It is not mainly about using certain type of browser, it is about using certain type of devices because Bitcointalk is still mobile friendly ...

It kind of is... Different browsers may display the page and behave quite differently.
For example firefox vs opera :

firefox:                                      opera:

Opera Android has a wordwrap on posts when I zoom in and find it much easier to read.

firefox:                                      opera:

What is the size of your smart phone screen?

If your phone screen is too small, mobile application if is available, does not help you.
If your phone screen is big enough, the web browser is enough to display texts. I think if you have a phone with screen size from 5.0'', you will have good reading experience with browser.

Rotating the phone is better of and you don't need to zoom to read or write. It gives better view more alike the desktop. I advice you rotate your phone when typing to post.

Phone display is small as others said but you strengthening your mobile experience while accessing the forum through mobile phone by setting your phone to "read mode" which will intelligently adjust screen brightness or changing the "front size" of your mobile phone display. However, I believe accessing the forum with Firefox and Chrome mobile app is not friendly like using Opera browser.

There is no mobile version for the bitcointalk website but still the look of the website is not same on every mobile browser, for example of chrome you have to zoom in and zoom out to read the posts but If I am not wrong the posts will get auto zoom when you click post or reply so you can see the entire text box so no need to move your screen while typing, but this is not actually meant for mobile so better go with bigger screen.

In response to the question in the subject field [no Tapatalk, an app, or a browser], there are a few stripped-down versions but only one of them is probably suitable for your case:

Note: Every single one of these versions has its own limitations and depending on how each post is formatted [e.g. those with tables], viewing it using any of the above versions might be a nightmare.

I really dont have any issues or problems with the mobile Browser on my Phone.
To read the things better i just zoom in.
The only thing that isnt showing correctly on mobile are the signatures from all users but thats Not a big Problem.
Mostly i use the forum with my Computer.

Make sure to use non-desktop view when you are using your mobile browser on surfing in Bitcointalk because if you will enable the desktop-view on your mobile browser, you may experience a desktop view and that's the time you will see very small texts and you will need to zoom first before able to see them clearly.
doesn't desktop and non-desktop view only work if the website or platform has a mobile version/mobile friendly? I've tried enabling and disabling the desktop view on my phone before and it does nothing when I browse bitcointalk using my mobile phone.

Which of the phone are you using? Because I think if it's the normal Android smartphone, go download Google Chrome browser, and when you want to sign in to bitcointalk.org click on the always sign in button to keep you sign in always. It's very simple..

Phone display screen is small, try to rotate your phone if you will like how it display, but to better get full and better display with better experience, using desktop browser is the for go. It is not mainly about using certain type of browser, it is about using certain type of devices because Bitcointalk is still mobile friendly but getting full and better display on desktop. But to get one of the best mobile experience, you can try Via broswer, but I do not know much about the security of the browser, so not that I am recommending it.

Thanks I'll give it a go 🙏🏻🙏🏻 . I was just wondering if there was something like Tapatalk for this forum. It's probably better if I just visit the bitcointalk site on my desktop or laptop anyway as it gives me time away from all screens.
Thanks Again 🙂
