At the moment Ethereum is I think fastest but I have also read about PolkaDot I never test it but the users say it is now the fastest blockchain. Actually, Ethereum has more load than others that's why some people compare it will low traffic blockchain.

blockchain is becoming popular today, within the community or in an institutional environment,
but if blockchain is used slow and expensive, of course it becomes a problem, and my choice is Tron,
because fees are cheap and faster, are one of the good things in Tron.
Are you sure Tron fast? I think EOS or XRP is faster than Tron, and if I'm not mistaken there is a new fast coin called Hedera, this coin is quite new but the transaction speed is beyond doubt. you should try it instead of Tron.

How is ethereum blockchain be the fastest, it is not. I have made transaction with dash, ripple and digibyte before, there transactions are instantly or almost instantly unlike ether that will still take some minutes with high transaction fee. If not for the ethereum platform scalability issue, ethereum 2.0 will not be in process for launch.

If you are looking toward scalability in crypto, you can have a look at the first truly sharded architecture. Elrond is currently processing 150,000 TPS and achieve beyond this during the testnet which recorded 260,000 TPS. One thing that makes it unique is that it can scale further by adding more shards when needed which will increase the transaction processing power.

Any new blockchain will be faster than older because why do we accept slower TPS? Another point is "NEW blockchain always supports only a few users. We need more transaction speed from running all blockchain. I think we need a new one if Ethereum 2.0 can't touch the 10k TPS. Tron blockchain is fastest enough and has a low cost.

There are factors that can determine the speed of transactions. Most blockchains have good TPS but the load on it can delay transactions. Out of the block chains I have used tron comes out fast for me. Ethereum is also fast.
Ethereum is not so fast as another smartcontract platforms but it has offered a lot of features. The scalability can be solved through the fork but i think that we do not seriously need the most scalable blockchain. We have some scalable chain and that's more than enough. I see no reason for the smartcontract platform to offer more and more scalability because the team must see the scalability as a part of the development of the platform.
it's not only about how fast you are.

The article is quite missleading tho, their pick of 5 fastest crypto is Dash, Eth, monero, ltc, and NEO. I have never used NEO but the other 4 was not that fast compared to other new crypto with much better scalability like Tron or EOS.

The fastest Eth transaction I have made take 3-5 minutes, and I need to put quite huge gas on this. 15 seconds seems impossible. And LTC is not really famous for their fast transaction, it takes longer even compared to Ethereum. Dash and Monero is worse when they have huge trafic on their platform.

Almost every blockchain wants to transact their tokens fast. Fast transaction is not the main issue. The key is security. The use of the blockchain that can provide more security will increase.
Actually, there are three things that every Blockchain user should always pay attention to, the first thing is very clear, namely security, and the second is transaction speed, then the third is transaction fees, this is the basic thing that all blockchain users always pay attention to.

Well, based on my experienced Nem, TRX, EOS, and Ethereum are all good and fast to me.
These all are good to use when you want to make a transaction with them, and in terms of fees they are all
cheap also, so you won't regret it for sure in the end.

ETH actually isn't fast, you'd have to pick whether you want it faster or not. the option to pick how much you wanna spend for a transaction means by default its slow and that they only prioritize transaction when you pay higher for the transaction. i prefer EOS really, its the same thing after all I play games on EOS chain from casino to real online game.

fast transaction is important for different purposes, TRX and EOS simply delivers it well and same with some other blockchain like the Vechain.

As long as the platforms are still using blockchain that has been running by a lot of nodes or stakers and that will improve the security of the blockchain itself. The problem is when the blockchain is not yet scalable and it will be so difficult to be adopted by the defi projects but this is not the problem at all because ethereum has proven it. AVAX becomes the most scalable chain right now.
It looks like security doesn't matter a lot in this case.

Every blockchain is fast if there are no users of it. Anyway, eth and eos are pretty fast ones. I can recommend ownr wallet for both

I agree with you, but the most important thing for now is the transaction fees from the blockchain and I think EOS is cheaper than Ethereum, because there are still few people who use the platform from EOS, so if we do transactions on EOS the cost is cheaper and faster than Ethereum, but I prefer to use the platform from Ethereum, because I am used to using the platform from Ethereum (since 2017 when ICO was popular), so I hope that in the future Ethereum will develop its platform to make the price and transaction speed even better from now.

and of course the fees at Doge are also cheap, I'm sure many traders use Doge as their transaction.

Fast blockchain can still lack behind, the reason why most projects goes up to top ranks isn't because they are fast, thousands of coins are faster than bitcoin but yet bitcoin remains the best of the best, for me I care less about faster blockchain and care more about good utilities

security of blockchain, bigger amount of hashrate, beside to fast all give higher value to crypto coin.

The fastest blockchain I know right now is Solana and Lamden. These two blockchains both claim to have a maximum reachable speed of 100kTPS. Although these two projects are too new to us because they have just launched their products. I have experienced these two blockchains and showed that the transaction is almost instantaneous, if the smart contract is popularly deployed on these two blockchains then great. Even so, it is too early to conclude anything as it is possible that in practice things will not be as good as the theory they created.

I always use XRP for doing my transactions between exchanges.

It is very very fast, in few minutes I receive the XRP in the other exchange, and the fee for the transactions is normally around 0.25 XRP. At this prices of XRP, it is unrivaled.

Hope that helps

there are many Blockchain, Bitcoin Blockchain, Ethereum Blockchain and Tron Blockchain, etc.,
they are all blockchain systems that are different developers, even though they are the same as usability,
but I chose Tron which is the fastest and cheapest, indeed Bitcoin and Ethereum are also good,
but for my fees are not guarantee they're number one.

I know there are some fast blockchain that really can transact really with speed that i have tried which are TRON and EOS that also cost really cheap network fees. Most people used Ethereum that is why is pretty congested now and so overrated blockchain in the opinion. Hoping the second version  of it can really solve that problem especially on the network fee issues that really give more problems to people wanted to transfer some tokens.

There are too many fast blockchain projects in crypto space today, they are too many and most haven't make it to top 100 yet, the fact is we don't need faster blockchain but better utility, any transaction speed that can send in a second or two is more than enough for users, what we hunt for is real use cases.
having a fast blockchain is included among the use case or  utility of a coin because all cryptos here on the market have a value and can be used for exchanging and buying but if the blockchain of a coin is slower than can be an issue to the people that dont like to wait . some of these coins with a faster blockchain have another extra use aside from paying , is that what lookin for ? that can also be consider as one of its advantage but many people foccus more on the currency side and to the investing side of a coin .

Despite the fact that crypto transfers work almost instantly, all the blockchains have different time to generate blocks and push the transactions in. Besides the specifications of a taken network, transaction speed can be influenced by:

The network being “busy” at the moment
Large transfer volume
Increased fees
Problems with nodes

https://swapzone.io/learn/how-to-exchange-crypto-fast/

That is a good article but I do not think people normally try to find out that blockchain is fast or slow when they are doing any transaction. People use higher fees to do their transactions faster.
When users use it, they don't care about the price. After having some problems with any blockchain, some users will search for transaction cost. Some new blockchain is offering zero transaction cost for limited uses in a day. Tron and Ripple are the fastest ones for low transaction cost.

It is really hard to point out one particular Blockchain. Because there are many different Blockchains exist. And mostly everybody don't use all of them. However, as far as my understanding and experience TRON is surely one of the fastest Blockchains. Because the transaction speed is very much the faster and quick.

A transaction will get into the next block in Ethereum network if you pay a high fee. As Ethereum mining difficult is set to have a blocktime of 13 seconds (average) that is the transaction time in EThereum network.

Bitcoin has a 10 minute blocktime. This a design decision, not a new or old technology.

Small blocktime leads to waste of energy. Miners will mine blocks at the same time (or very close to each other), and only one will be the longest chain.

Overall, when someone talks about "fastest blockchain" they don't know what they are talking about.

If you just want fast transactions and don't give a shit about centralization or anything else, just use Visa. It is faster and safer than most blockchains.
Each blockchain has a certain number of confirmations, after which the transaction is considered confirmed.
In bitcoin, for example, when transferring large amounts, 6-10 confirmations are expected. This is enough to avoid 51% attacks.

You are addressing the issue of the blockchain trilemma: decentralization, security, and scalability.

This is another interesting question, through how many confirmations can a transaction be considered confirmed and secure.
If you trade on an exchange, then you can see that for each coin there is a certain limit of confirmations on the network before crediting money to your balance.

Tron, NRG blockchain's transaction is fairly fast. Currently ETH and Bitcoin transactions are very slow. But after ETH 2.0 hope, ETH's transaction will be very fast.
Yeah very true and it feels like a distant memory when ETH had very fast confirmations and the transaction cost was so small. Now ETH is not the right choice for quick transactions anymore and I hope this gets solved with ETH 2.0 but I don't know if there is any emphasis on that. Personally I don't mind transaction fees much because I don't make small transfers but I often get stuck in the ETH network congestion and although I am able to cancel my transactions in that case (send 0 eth to yourself with better fees and same nonce) but it feels bad to do that and make a new transaction.

I see many people suggesting tron which might be fast but then I don't trust these new coins much and the price for tron hasn't been too promising lately.

but we aint talking about the security . its the speed that we are talking to . if btc blockchain is the fastest no wonder why why theres so many people complain about thier delayed transaction . they say trx , ltc and ripple  .

im going to agree with that because me myself also tried to use those coins and i was impressed how my transaction went  but all of that dont mean that we should now forget btc, no because all of those wont be possible if without the existense of btc . btc still has its own charm if not on the speed

In cryptocurrency speed and security are deeply connected. It's a huge misconception to think that "fast" blockchains actually confirm your transactions, because their confirmations are unreliable. So, what's the point of a centralized and unsecure cryptocurrency, if you can get already get instant confirmations with banks or PayPal, but they are at least regulated and there's at least some guarantee that they won't exit scam you, or that the value of your money won't drop by 90% overnight.

Every Blockchain is unique with it's characteristics and what everyone likes about it. I like Ripple Network no doubt. They are really fast in sending and receiving value from exchange and wallet.
If you check all exchanges, you hardly see transactions fee greater than 3 Xrp which is very cheap when one try others like ethereum, Bitcoin and Litecoin. Tron is cheap but not as fast as xrp.

Xlm is cool to but I don't find it friendly. Currently, I am looking to adoption of Tron (Free crystal) with transactions time frame of 0.15 sec.

In my experienced Tron, Litecoin and Ripple are the fastest the confirmation is instant but I like Tron, because of the transaction fee of only 1 cent sometimes less, I have not tried Eos because I only made three transactions using Eos, and checking this article they confirmed my belief

https://ihodl.com/analytics/2020-08-13/these-3-cryptocurrencies-have-fastest-transaction-speed/
I agree Tron is the fastest and actually the best for small scale transfer for traders and even gamblers because the fees is actually zero and the confirmations are instant which is the ideal choice for most of us, myself being a gambler and I deposit small to Trin works fine.

I also tried and used XRP and it was almost instant so that is also good and the old dogecoin is still a good option for that because fees is 1 doge on transactions normally and the confirmations are very fast although I must say they are not instant like Tron and XRP and takes like 5-10 mins for 6 confirmations which is the normal for the deposit to appear.
Tronnn??? Tron has 2000TPS while EOS has 4000TPS and that 2 blockchain is not close enough to newest blockchain project like Zilliqa, Ontology, Quarkchain, Harmony, Solana and so many new Blockchain project that already launch there mainnet. Tron just gain much attention due to hype build by the founder FUD on his own coin.

I agree that Tron is convenient to use because its really much faster compared to the leading crypto like BTC and ETH. But claiming it as the fastest blockchain is delusional.

Base on my previous experiences there's a lot of claims that were hanging around and say's that they possessed the fastest blockchain in the industry, But according to TECTUM Blockchain creator "they are the fastest blockchain because they already reach the 1 million TPS" and it is very far from Bitcoin's 4.6 TPS, Ethereum's 15 TPS, Ripple's 1700 TPS and even with EOS 50,000 TPS, if it's true base on that claim Tectum Blockchain, is the fastest.

Sources:
https://medium.com/predict/the-worlds-fastest-blockchain-exceeds-1-million-transactions-per-second-8931df09320d

They don't have supporting documents for this claim. The medium link you provide is an interview to the team member and all word that he said is just his opinion. Even the 1M TPS has no basis at all, The video on the medium is just a graphical representation of how nodes work. They don't have any testnet data available and also they will surely be on major publishing website like coindesk and coinstelegraph.com if they really have what they are claiming. The only source for there claims is just there own written medium blog.

1M TPS is insane. LOL

Exactly
The question is...who has high TPS with decentralized consensus scaled?

There is only one.  Avalanche
Vitalik himself has tweeted about it

The current fastest blockchains that I know of are LAMDEN and SOLANA. These two blockchains both achieved high speeds almost immediately. I have experienced them and found them to be great. They are actually faster than Binance, Tronix, and Stellar in my experience.
Maybe in the future things will change as people use them more. Just like how Ethereum did it before until too many people used it.

There are many fast blockchains already and as time goes on, many more will be created. But, however there is something that is of great importance and that is, the working product of that blockchain platform, how does it correlate to the speed of the blockchain? Assuming a blockchain is fast but lacks adequate use case or working product, it won't be long and investors will lose interest in that blockchain platform.
To clarify this, I remembered few years ago, many blockchain platforms then challenged Ethereum, classified it as a slow blockchain and all that, while promising to offer more speed thus having the capability to beat Ethereum. But till date no blockchain has succeeded in doing that, even those that claimed to be faster can't still be compared with Ethereum currently, thus confirming what I said before now, working product matters first, before speed and that's what will keep investors coming.
Nonetheless, the blockchains I know that are fast are Ethereum (although not that fast), Tron, Binance, XLM and so forth.

Ethereum does not take 14-17 seconds for txs to go through. I never had an ETH tx be confirmed in less than like 15 minutes.. If we're talking about how quick they're broadcasted to the network, any coin can be considered "the quickest". What truly matters is how fast the txs get confirmed.

A transaction will get into the next block in Ethereum network if you pay a high fee. As Ethereum mining difficult is set to have a blocktime of 13 seconds (average) that is the transaction time in EThereum network.

Speed is too high, ridiculously high, I just know that SOLANA, EOS, RIPPLE, STELLAR, LAMDEN are currently the fastest blockchains. I've been on this forum and many Telegram discussion groups talk about cryptocurrencies but have never heard of TECTUM. They may not have launched their product yet, but claiming the world's fastest blockchain is overconfidence. If they did create such a fast blockchain, it would surely change the world economy dramatically.

Bitcoin is the fastest blockchain, because 1 Bitcoin confirmation has security of hundreds or even thousands of altcoin confirmations. Newbies think that 1 confirmation is enough to be safe, but it's far from truth - in altcoins it doesn't take much resources to undo a few confirmations. Ethereum Classic had seen whole days of transactions undone by attackers multiple times. With Bitcoin this never happened. It's only a matter of time before attacking altcoins will become more and more popular, due to the progress of hardware and attractiveness of doing so caused by price growth.

The visa payment system operates at a speed of 2000-4000 transactions per second. During peak loads, the system can operate at a higher speed.
From new blockchains I saw TPS 6500.

"Bitcoin can facilitate ~7 transactions per second. Avalanche has achieved 6,500 transactions per second, demonstrating that it can accommodate Visa-level throughput"
https://medium.com/avalabs/avalanche-101-an-overview-of-the-internet-of-finance-7cdc5a2bee46

there is no problem to make the fastest blockchain, it must still be decentralized and secure.

There are many cryptocurrency that have fast transaction speed such as EOS coin.
Actually, bitcoin transaction speed can become faster with lightning network.
In Ethereum blockchain, the transaction speed is not fast as EOS, but the volume is big so it often congested and requiring more gas fee.

The list on that swapzone website looks outdated. There is a faster blockchain among them like the EOS and TRX that is almost instantly the tokens you send goes directly to the other end.  There are more of them competing on this game that even ETH had been trying hard to also stay on top which is why they are into sharding. If they are successful in this sharding, the developers may be able to just stay on ETH.

So far (from the coins I hold), I feel Harmony (ONE) and Elrond (ELGD) are of the fastest blockchain. Last I check Harmony was at 5-sec block finality and, I am not quite sure what's block finality for Elrond was but, their TPS is quite awesome.

I have personally experienced the blockchains we have today and I find TRON, EOS, Solana, Lamden to be the fastest blockchains out there right now. Although they have different specifications, the experience is the same and I appreciate these blockchains. The real problem they will have in the future is whether they are overloaded as Ethereum is currently overloaded and transaction costs are high.
Market cap rating TRON and EOS are too high-cap, Solana about $ 100 million, the lowest is Lamden with $ 5 million.
I would prefer to invest Solana more and put a little on Lamden because their capitalization is low and very potential.

LOL

I never calculated how fast the blockchain is. The first time I sent crypto was bitcoin, it was long enough to get into my wallet. And I have tried using Ethereum, NEO, Tron, and Lite coin, I think their blockchain is faster than Bitcoin.
Every blockchain technology is fast. The only reason why it takes longer for you to complete your transactions in bitcoin is that bitcoin has many users compared to other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum, NEO, Tron, Litecoin, etc. Miners on the bitcoin network only prioritize transactions with much higher fees before they confirmed it, so if you pay a higher fee, it will lessen the time of your transaction to be completed.

The website OP has given has some quite misleading information. It first talks about how fast exchanges are, then what determines a blockchain tx to be confirmed faster/slower and then talks about the fastest coins (which aren't even the fastest) once again.

I honestly just cannot call Ethereum and Monero among the top 5 fastest cryptocurrencies. There are others that get confirmed way, way faster than them. Moreover, this following statement is very misleading:

Quote
Ethereum network, despite the issues of scalability and certain delays with network congestion, takes about 14 to 17 seconds for the transactions to go through. Ethereum blocks handle about 12 transactions per second.

You don't need to calculate it because it's impossible for a normal user to compute since you need quantity of transaction per seconds. Usually project computes it during there test net by loading tons of transaction on there blockchain to test how far they can go on processing transaction.

Many blockchain project are claiming they are the fastest blockchain but until now. No one can provide a finish blockchain product that can give the TPS they are boasting. All is just for hyping investors to buy there token.

I believe Solana is one of the fastest blockchain with 65k TPS on there testnet but 50K TPS actual.

Every blockchain is fast if there are no users of it. Anyway, eth and eos are pretty fast ones. I can recommend ownr wallet for both

To be honest we have many blockchain coin that have ability to make  faster transaction. But for what reason why asking ? Adoption of crypto currency will not only depend how faster they can send the transaction but it is depend  also on the future plan of the currency and how they can solve something that other coins can't do  with thier own blockchain .

elrond blockchain is the fastest they claim that elrond has 15k / TPS, elrond transaction fees are also very cheap only 0.005 $ at the moment. they also say that the elrond increase is 1000 times that of the existing blockchain. This new blockchain design from Elrond is so diamond that Ethereum mimics Elrond's design as mentioned by Robert Sasu, the main developer of Elrond.

From my point of view there is no difference between 3 seconds or 10 seconds. It should be less than 1 minute. Ethereum, neo usually provides it. But the other problem of the blockchains (imo more important than the speed) is transaction size capacity.

I have never figured out which seems to be fastest, amongst the ones I've used so far EOS and Tron blockchains are the fastest so far. With less fees and charges for transactions.

The list of fastest blockchains goes on and on, there is no point trying to find one because there will always be a faster blockchain, in 2018 I prefer Apollo currency blockchain because it's ultra fast, there is no need for waiting for confirmation and later I came across MetaCoin, this project transaction speed beats Apollo currency, you send a coin out of Meta wallet to another address it's already there in a blink of an eye.

Yes all blockchains are good with the current blockchain technology crypto is improving a lot and transactions are becoming faster and easier the bitcoin system works using a blockchain laser to record transactions. Bitcoin is a global cryptocurrency that can be used as a medium of exchange many parties have begun to accept bitcoin as a currency the risks in terms of security and stability have been greatly reduced.

Swapzone is a helpful site that helps you find the best places for trading. You can use Swapzone to get details on what you can get from a transaction based on whatever fees or rates may appear. You can also get an idea of how long it would take for you to complete the deal.
