This is more useful:

coindesk bpi   http://www.coindesk.com/price/
bitpay rates   https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-exchange-rates
coinbase price   https://coinbase.com/charts

Bitstamp and bt-c prices are more accurate.

the prices from single market is not convincing. I prefer to reference the coindesk bpi
generally speaking the price on bigger exchanges tend to move together

There are some difference always where the arbitrage takes place.

Huobi exchange not shown cuz of 0% trading fee? What kind of reason is that?   Roll Eyes

No !!! Huobi fakes volume... that is the real reason.
It's the new bitcoin exchange guaranteed success model.  "Fake it till ya make it!"

Haha yes, also, okcoin has been too with this "0%" tricky fee, hope they stop faking volume and let the Chinese buy in a good shape.

What I would find far more valuable would be a chart that when I hover over a particular time that it tells how many coins were sold at the high end and the low end, or some other detail in it, though I guess if the thing can be zoomed in enough you can get the nitty gritty of that, but still when you see an hour end at a high, there is rarely any way to tell if 3000 coins passed hands  and some were low (800 bucks) and some were high (849 bucks) you have no idea of knowing if it was just one coin that sold that whole hour for 849 and it just happened to be the last one of the hour, or if the reverse is true, or say if more sold high than low, or it started low jumped high for 5 minutes then fell again till the very last 5 minutes of the hour before shooting back up for one single sale or not. All of this I found that if I can keep track of it by watching I can know very well what will happen the next hour based on that and some other info I gather, so you know, a bit of info on that would be  important to my trading practices and would save me a ton of my time while doing so lol.

TL:DR is that I would like to have a chart that gives some percentage of how much was above the median of the hour and how many coins sold below the median I guess Smiley

Why not use preev and xe as I make ?

It's easier.

You may follow any service of your choice, but Google/Yahoo graphs are worldwide known and carries a different weightage. Most of the non-bitcoiners will trust them over preev/xe.

But it's supposed here, we are ALL bitcoiners, even the noob of the noobs, would know about preev, bitstamp and such.

RON:

1. Google: 1,865.8727 RON
2. Yahoo: 1,863.3961 RON
3. btcxchange.ro: bid - 1830.00; ask - 1912.50

Seems RON is Romanian currency. Is btcxchange.ro is the best exchange for this local currency. Never heard of it previously... Moreover, the diff in asking price is noticeable.

Why o why?

This looks like spam to me. There are plenty price tracking sites out there. Why would you want a thread that tracks whatever price google and yahoo think is right. Whereever they get their data from.

The thread is not spam itself, if people use it properly. International prices vary from real local currency price and that could have been tracked from this thread. But spammers may turn it into a spam heaven for sure and then earn a ban ! Wink

Now we have Google & Yahoo showing Bitcoin exchange rate to the world for different currencies. I am starting this thread to track the current price of Bitcoin in different local currencies. I'll be posting in USD and use the following 2 links...

1. Google: https://www.google.com/finance?q=BTCUSD
2. Yahoo: http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=BTCUSD=X

Current Price

1. Google: 617.1700 USD
2. Yahoo: 614.99 USD
3. BTC-e: 618.997 USD

Requesting everyone to to replace the third point with the exchange they use for their local currency. While taking Google & Yahoo rates, just replace USD with local currency symbol, e.g. JPY, EUR, CNY etc.
