Unbelievable. I can just barely pull off basic HTML and AppleScript, and even I was/am able to do it. ENOUGH ALREADY.

iPhone... it's probably possible, just unusably laggy. I have plenty of devices that can handle it.

Sounds like you either have a corrupt hard drive or faulty memory btw. Many boot loaders have a memtest option you might want to try. Not sure if Ubuntu's install has it though.

it really is not hard to use OTC, and the ability to find people exchanging BTC for cash easily is well worth the time invested in learning how to use it.

Since OTC's most simple entryway is signing messages with your BTC key, I wonder how you can even use most clients without calling it "a chore", "complicated", "boring" or "useless".

Is anyone working on a frontend for OTC? It would have to run locally, and connect to IRC by itself, but that part shouldn't be too hard to get rolling.

I can use OTC fine. It's just such a chore, so I'm less likely to conduct trades.

OTC is the gold standard. A close second is having your IRL identity well known. Beyond that the Rhodium circa 2008 (around 10,000 an once back then) standard is the strong WOT rating from OTC trades combined with a well known IRL identity.

For all of the effort it might seem to take to use OTC and WOT, as well as further time to build a reputation there that is where most of the big deals happen.

It is a bit much for most people, so a lesser standard is building up a general history of making good trades and not being and asshole. Read the scam accusations threads and understand why some things make people suspicious.
