I'm concerned about the constant growth in the number of various meme coins. It seems to me that the more absurd the idea, the more popular it is among investors. In my opinion, this will never end.

Well that is the new generation for you.

They just pick whatever is funny and trendy and make a project around it and then they let those people who are way too obsessed with these memes to hop in and invest even with no actual potential. Can we do something to stop this? No I don’t think so but they might lose some memes to eventually make a project off of.

Don't worry, they will end. The new creation will stop when the hype is gone and that's why everyone is chasing for their newest memecoins.

Is there any statistics or data on what percentage of meme coins make up the total volume and what percentage are popular regardless of blockchain affiliation?
CMC shows BTC and ETH dominance. So with the calculation of it, likely the portion of that remains belong to the memes.
