Is there a way out to deal with this old bitcoin transaction, to wait for 1 confirmation can sometimes wait for hours, sometimes even all day

Pay a higher fee is basically the go-to if you really want to avoid waiting for long confirmation times. If you don't want to do that, then campaign for larger block sizes and in the event we get a fork, fees should go down as transactions are confirmed faster and there should be more open space in the blocks, or at the very least lower fees across the board. Then people have to start caring about spam attacks again, but I would worry less about that since they would need double the volume of their previous attempts. Is there a solution?
