I will not say that he is the worst, but I'll say for one that I burned, and it was Gilgam. Initially, everything was very good there and you could just admire it. And now no one needs these tokens at all.

Worst one is by far gimli... they even got unlisted from CMC, couldn't get on any exchange, refused to refund investors after they failed to reach softcap even after they said they would refund anyone who wanted it.

All icos with overhype to my mind with adv everywhere.
They are overhyped, the investors that purchase coins and tell people that they should purchase the coins is going to ditch the coin when there is a wider hype around it.

All ICO, in which I participated in the summer, fell in the fall below the ground when bitkoyn rose, and all the altokkuny fell. Tokens purchased at the ICO fell 5 times. Now, some have narrowed the gap with the purchase up to 2.5 times. Several coins returned to their original value.  Smiley

I see that it has been mentioned a few times, but I have to also go with Jesus Coin.

There are bad ideas and then there is Jesus coin which I feel plays on a belief system. According to their website they have raised over 200 ETH....

I seem to notice that there are too many ICOs run by Russian, and you don't know how legitimate they are and there are no real updates at all. These are definitely red flags to me. Not to say all Russian ICO is bad, INS was very successful, but the KYC process is a pain.

I agree with you, a lot of Russian and Belarusian ICO scams spoiled the reputation for other projects and now people are afraid to invest their finances

There are a lot of Shit ICO's featured in the year 2017. Many of them came out to fraud/scam. But ETHbooks was the worst out of all those. That ICO seems to be a totally legit project and with everything(concept, website, whitepaper, team etc) seems to be good enough to invest but in end, they fooled thousand of investors including me and got vanished after looting all the money.

I remember seeing one called JesusCoin, which offered no value at all apart from approved by Jesus.

I think that has to be the worst one as it plays on people's religion and offers nothing at all to anyone.

You need to ho read the whitepaper, I'm afraid you are clueless about this token.

The worst ICO of this year is Tezos. The project was very promising, everyone expected a profit of at least 10 times. As a result, the project team quarreled and we apparently lost all our money

I have to agree fully. Some ICOs out there have been from a bit unprofessional to plainly mismanaged, but Tezos rules them all. Just look for a good team an start making your own list of managers and advisors that you trust.

OHH. I heard about this ICO with crazy marketing strategy. This is really the worst ICO. My friends also were involved in that bounty and they got nothing for their work))

ETN,thousands of people who bought the pre-ico sales token got totally rekt after the ETN wallet problem started they hold the tokens for months while the price keeps decreasing day by day many investors lose their money.

A lot more to come, check Wax token ... huge dump after ICO

Yeah. But i heard that WAX dump was created by increase in supply of this token. The DEV just increased the supply without proper and advance news. Thus, first coin came to exchange, certain sales were done, and than news about increase in supply. Here you get a huge dump.

The worst ICO for me is Tezos. The trial was in USA and I don’t know what is the end of it. But it seems that I couldn’t get my money back. I am not even trying yet. I hear that Tezos renew its activity, it is planning something else.

I think the Monetha ICO was pretty bad. Not because their product is bad, it's the way they handled the ICO. There were no individual cap so it was sold out within minutes and mostly whales bought into it.

And then it kind of took a tumble once it hit the exchanges. Looks like it definitely recovered though. Good team.

For 6 months there was not word on the development of the project and now after 6 months they have started development. In a way you are lucky because it looked pretty much like the project was a grab an run. At least now you have a working project and given that the ether has risen in price you still have a bit of value there.

Now some have narrowed the gap with the purchase up to 2.5 times. A couple of coins returned to their original value and only 2 pcs showed a small profit. It was not just for me.

Oh, yes, I also got into this funnel. I can not say that the ICO's I participated in are the worst. No, these are good real projects. But the profit is zero or minus x2.

I didn't watch their ICO honestly but I can count you couple of more tge that sold out in minutes. For this we can't blame their official teams. They do their best to sell their project, that's it.

I have no problem with it being sold out within minutes, it was just the way the team managed the whole ICO. Wasn't really professional of them. Also the price of the token crashed once it hit the exchanges.

All of them.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Haha its really true. If we take out statstics and look for a ratio of good ICOs to worst ICO we will actually find that 90% of them have failed. There are a lot of worst ICOs which didnt even gather a penny except of the funds invested by the core team. Variety of blockchains and a possibility of a token creation on them.has given every person a chance to develop its own ICO may it be absolutely pointless.
In my opinion , one of the worst ICOs of 2017 was OneCoin, a textbook scam from start to finish. OneCoin was a multi-level marketing Ponzi scheme (think Cutco knives). It’s difficult to give more detail, because there’s no information a token was ever created. The story was a black eye on the crypto world.

Of course, this is the worst. Fortunately for me, I've read somewhere, and decided not to invest. Now, before you engage, I'm trying to view information and different perspectives of projects.
Did you heard about ETH books? It was believed to be the top rated ICO of 2017 with a lot of buzz. But ended up being a scam only.

I think one of the worst ICO is CarTaxi because even though the ICO is successful, the pice suddenly shoot down because of scam accusation of their campaign participants. Not a good communication with their investor is also one factor, that is why other investors dumped their token to avoid further lost.

This is not even to considered an ICO, because it is not a crypto in the first place, it even doesn't have a blockchain, it is pure 100% Ponzi scam.

The worst ICOs for me are those ICOs who doesn't served its purpose and doesn't last long. Those ICOs who got freezed/paused midway to the completion of its sale and never come back. Most of all, ICOs that turned to be a big SCAM. I have encountered all of that but that's ok because i also learned a lesson out from them.

Let the thread begin!!

Most ICO have bad track record for the beginning but that's natural, for new coin ( product ) I'm not surprised. From my experience, trader & investor has know it as market pattern, so they will not replace their money into ICO ( mostly ). Bitcoin and second coin ( eth, xmr, xrp ) still doesn't change as the main income on the real market. But for me KICK is the worst, until now I can't exchange become bitcoin/ second coin because has low price and should wait. Other ICO I believe better than KICK.

This year many ICO are worst in market. Some of the ICO only develop in market. I don't like ICO because it is unpredictable. I like Bitcoin and altcoins these are the best current trend investment. I think infinite ICO are worst because I don't calculate the shit ICO.
I support sometimes easier to just wait and then collect coins on the exchange after a mass sale

There were so many and that is the reason that I held onto my ETH so tightly. It is very difficult to determine the scams from the good ones and it isn't really worth my time to sift through all the garbage.

It is actually so. I can't remind any ICO of 2017 which would not awake any talks about it's scam nature. All those tokens that appeared on the market cost nothing and nobody who invested in that got some big income, besides ICO's heads who just picked up money and disappeared.

Does worst ICO have to be a fail project ? I can count you a lot of ICO that was horrible and after one month or so they hit big very big . For example ETN was horrible coins was lock for people who bought in ICO and open for people who is mining . But after wallet open the price was really great and did not take a hit ( It should have btw but dunno what happened Cheesy ) . Also a project called my wish it started with my last well and after changing its name and go with my wish and end there ICO they had really nice price I personally made huge profit from it . I can go on and on . The point is not every fail ico is -roi and not every success ico is +roi . It can easily be the other way .

Ive joined the pre-ico sale and invested $5000 hoping that it will give me x10 profits, and after the wallet incident how the heck are we going to sold all of the coins if they hold it for 3months?

The first reply in the thread made me laugh a lot Grin
And I am fully agree with the author. Cause there were scam ICOs(nothing to tell more) and good projects, which got too many money for their product, so they relaxed. The poin is - the biggest thing was made without ICO, airdrop, without bounty, without investors and funds, and this thing continues to spread all over the world more and more Wink

Trade.io is really a promising project A utility token that can be used for transactions on a wide range of assets via the trade.io exchange. Even it’s already raised 19+ million where other Ico failed to collect funds .

Bitjob and wicoin are the worst ico I have seen in this year where no progress from team even they used simple concept failed to show any progress they least concerned about investors.

I have 700 STU (27$ invested) and even on this I am on LOSS! Agree BitJOB is not so good but not biggest bad ICO out there, I think Monetha is worst, not in terms of what they did/or not but how they calculated ICO price and what happened after that, people miss ICO and hit exchanges like me, ended up as heavy bag holders (I had 1000$ loss for 2 months al leats) that just recently turn into profit (approx. 100$ on green now) second is BlackMoonCrypto (enigmatic project, price in range 0.4 to 0.8$ now) ICO price was 1$ - so loss again from day one and buy pack protection instead 2 years lasted 2 months.

Anything else I invest turned into gold or at least silver. This 2 above turned into nothing really.

The worst IСO of this year is Tezos. The project was very promising, everyone expected a profit of at least 10 times. As a result, the project team quarreled and we apparently lost all our money

the worst ICO of 2017?
all of it that failed to reach softcap, wasting time waiting for refund

ETN,thousands of people who bought the pre-ico sales token got totally rekt after the ETN wallet problem started they hold the tokens for months while the price keeps decreasing day by day many investors lose their money.
wow i didn't know about it, after ETH too difficult to mining, i change to ETN
i dunno what to do now

This thread makes me think twice about joining an ICO. Seems like even extensive research cannot guarantee to not be scammed...

The worst ICO for me for 2017 was superior coin. Fortunately I had not put money into this project but I was planning to. The devs and the founder had a fall out, the devs disappeared with all the money raised. To this day none of the investors have recieved their money back... For me it was a lesson to never invest in an ICO

I have a lot of bad ICO projects but among them Cartaxi is probably the project that made me sad the most because the price of CTX is very low and hard to recover in the future. I think I learned many new lessons when investing in other ICO projects

Bitjob is the worst ever. When ethereum was $250-300, the cost was around $0.2, actually now it's like $0.5-0.6 but the market price was only $0.03 or so yesterday. This is just crazy.

I hope its price gets better. The team is hardworking.

Yeah sure it is,theres a higher chance you will lose even the project team is overated, one good hacker as they always says will burn all of your money, most of ICOs are well crafted scams if they gathered enough funds they will just dump it by announcing we got hacked all of our money are gone.,Easy money it is?

I invested 10 ether in Opus ICO and after the completion of their in which they collected 5 Million dollar in ETH(when eth was 300USD) the CEO left all social channels immediately. For 6 months there was not word on the development of the project and now after 6 months they have started development. My 10 ETH are almost worth 2 ETh and there is absolutely no trading going on at exchanges.

Holy shit !!!! you should report that to the SEC !

After reading that my story doesn't sound as bad but I will give it a go. Bancor was the ICO that was worst for me because it barely got above ICO price, the ICO was ran poorly with several last second changes increasing the amount they took and until now nothing has happened and its been a tank. Heres hoping some of these ICOs can recover in 2018

For me the worst ICO 2017 is Swapity and BeeSocials. Swapity has bad management, i have heard many friends that they did not paid by Bounty Manager around 6-8 Weeks, they always cheating participants to keep promoting their ICO, but never get paid. And for BeeSocials, i love the concept like MeetUp, but the roadmap and the team is suspicious

This year many ICO are worst in market. Some of the ICO only develop in market. I don't like ICO because it is unpredictable. I like Bitcoin and altcoins these are the best current trend investment. I think infinite ICO are worst because I don't calculate the shit ICO.
