This is outrageous men, how would you kill someone for possession of hard drugs, so just because someone choses to take a hard drug then you end his life, how is this a good solution to the problem, why not rehabilitation, in fact jailing is a waste of time, maybe the jails have been filled up and they want to just waste any new intake.
There's some sense in the judgment to an extent in a country where analysts are suggesting, since over 90% of our problems are rooted from the Human Factors then to solve such problems we have to apply wisdom to certain offenses people commit in the land which have degenerated it to what we have today. Some analysts actually suggest we should have some straightforward direct punishment to anyone found guilty of engaging in any grave sin in the nation without having to trial them to court and pass through the sitting procedures first.

If we all agree hard drugs are dangerous to the human brain and results to cerebral diseases then we should also know the negative effect such situation will cause to the well-being of the country, making it a bit reasonable to punish as one commits so far.

I know that’s not really what the country needs right now, but seriously, if they can solve that problem also, it’s not really a bad idea. I will say the punishment is kind of harsh, but sometimes if I sit and think about the bad things people consuming those hard drugs do, then I will say it is really worth it. After taking those drugs, most of them end up committing different crimes in society because they are no longer themselves and they believe no one can do them anything. I have seen people take hard drugs, kill, rape, rob, and commit other crimes in society, so they are supposed to be properly punished when caught.

I saw the News in Channels TV, but to approve the bill is not the issue but the implementation of this bill is the matter because there many bills approved by Nigerian House of Assembly but none have good effect on the country. Today Nigerians are suffering because of improper implemented bills and policies in the country. And if they will really carry out that capital punishment for the hard dealers, traffickers then the top politicians are the numbers to be killed because they are on the top taking in those substance everyday.

Now today dem (NHA) don tok say dem what the federal government to remove tax from drugs and food items from the Nigerian boarders and companies so that the inflation go co.w down but me I see that tok as Audio tok. The problem we dey get in the country na the implementation of these policies and bills. Now if them implement am the agencies go still collect money from those goods. So inflation go still dey though im go come down small.

we all know say nothing wey dem they approve way done ever work for this our country, mostly when e come to drugs matter e no go ever get good effects to Nigeria. Why because most of the leaders way we get their na them be the hard strong dealers way dey for this Nigerian, some of them get boys everywhere all the states and the (NDL) are all working with them. So for me this drug something of a thing isn't the major problem worrying Nigeria right now. But if them feel say this na some issues way they important to approve first it's left to them.

Nigeria's Senate has approved a bill that proposes death penalty for persons found guilty of trading or consuming hard drugs and narcotics. In Nigeria, death penalty is now the maximum sentence for the offence, replacing life imprisonment.
I was surprised when I saw the news some days or weeks ago. Life imprisonment is better. You know the government have little to provide for prisoners and the prisons are crowded, maybe they are finding ways to reduce the inmates or finding ways the reduce the new inmates that will stay for long in prison.

Hard drugs and narcotics are one of our major yet silently-killing problems in the country today. When you at people who peddle drugs and those that consume these drugs you will realize that we are in a big menace in the country as the effects of these drugs cannot be overemphasized.

According to a report that was carried out by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes in Nigeria, it evaluated that over 14 percent of the country's population which amounted to over 14 million people within the ages of 15 and 64 years of age are identified to be drug addicts. Mind you, these are the data and statistics of those that were able to capture. In a country like Nigeria where any data you take like this can be regarded as an average.

How about we talk about those peddling the drugs and how that have negatively affected our national character and behavior of the citizens as well as it's contribution to the corruption and misdemeanor currently faced by the country today.

I support you on this, the death penalty is not something to be done in this Nigeria. All of us na one even if you be strong hard drug person e no permit the government to kill the person, when I saw this new penalty I was very pissed off by the Senate. Because for me we're gradually killing ourselves little by little, and with this new law someone who doesn't like you will just want to set you up, and once the government hears that it's a drug addict or a drug trafficker. They'll take your soul out from this world, but what are the government really trying to do in this our Nigeria. For me this law is weakness to the citizens of Nigeria.

is this even necessary? Most of these guys that are actively into hard drugs are frustrated people that are facing serious psychological problems and just resorted to taking this substance and you're being this harsh on them? I know that the effect of taking such substance is very bad and can lead to the person killing innocent people in the process which is one of the reason why it should be discouraged but putting a dead sentence penalty on this kind of thing is too mean. Most of this politicians are always on substance but no one ever talks about it but the local ones on the street is going to be the one that's going to face this harsh ordeal.

There are other pressing issues that's a major concern to Nigerians that the Senate should have been battling rather than creating a new anthem and putting dead sentence for anyone that's caught using substance. Is it the same police and army officers that can't go a day without using this substance that will still effect this laws? We don't really know what our problem is in this country.

For me I don't think this is our major problem now, cause their is many things Nigeria needs to look after not going to drugs trafficking at the moment. Look at the petroleum industrials and the cost of things now, that we're battling that government haven't even think of making things easier for the citizens. It's not also bad for this but at the moment this not what we want to hear now, cause na who eat belle full na fit buy drugs take. So my people how Una see this matter way the Senate approved?

for me this new penalty set for drugs traffickers it's not the major problem that Nigeria seek right now, but in the other hands for the help of the younger ones now. Trying to make drugs as their hobby and most of them have already got addicted to it, so it'll help them but for the government setting it for dead penalty it's not nice cause if so then so many people will die. a friend of mine saw this and said their kids are also into it so it'll effect them as well, he also suggests that maybe the prisons is feed up so no space for them to send more people their. But that's not the major issues why the government set the new penalty for drugs, if you take a look around states in our country now most youth's have gone insane. And the rate of the drugs traffickers are getting much, why? Because no work provided from the government so many decided to go into drugs dealing. So what I'm saying is that the dead penalty set isn't good we are all one blood, why not go and serve and come back. Or either make another prisons for the drugs traffickers.

I don't think so, on my own opinion I think they're trying to make the drugs traffickers to get scared, cause the younger ones nowadays are much more going into drugs some people will send their children to school. But not knowing that his/her children are into drugs, I suggest the drugs abuse this days are getting more higher then we think. Okay mostly you can go to mental health hospitals they're much people crowed their, it's cause of the drugs traffickers so I don't really blame the government over the law but death penalty is too much for them.
