The following thread gives Windows instructions:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-to-compile-bitcoin-core-v0141-uasf-segwit03bip148-1860802

Choice edits of those steps wll of course work for Linux, although I'm not sure it would be so simple for MacOS

Hi, can someone tell me what exactly is user activated soft work without political bullshit? So far I know that it's way, how full nodes can activate SegWit without miners support. But how can one activate it in Bitcoin Core wallet?

uacomment=UASF-SegWit-BIP148 in bitcoin.conf file.

Something that is used to activate stuff without the approval of the miners. Everyone can run a node so everyone can have a vote and there is not a massive monopoly in charge with the rigged ASIC machines.
