$15-20k . This is the most average price for buying bitcoin. And I am sure that this is an average price not only for me.

For Daytrder like me its very hard to say what will be average. Although now a days i will prefer  30$-40k$ is my average buying price. If i found Btc  around 32k . i will diffinitely buy at this price for long term.

The thread's creator question is about long-term hodling. In day trading you usually do not hold Bitcoins longer than a day to avoid surprises, especially when you do leveraging the trade. So your answer does not make sense and you should read the opening post properly before answering next time.

Actually for ordinary people, like me, the purchases of Bitcoin are still in two figures and hopefully in three, and I think that on average everyone is out there.

Someone may even make purchases of 3 and 4 figures at some point, it happens but it is rather the type of selling something else and investing in bitcoin.

I don't set an average Bitcoin buying price but I always let the market trend be the reason behind every buying decision I make and what I am waiting for now is the blood bath that always happens after the Bitcoin halving effect.

I really do not have an average number in my portfolio since I prefer to buy and sell almost everyday not just bitcoins but also alternative coins.
You're right, because if you do buy and sell cryptocurrency more especially bitcoin, you will not be able to keep account of the crypto you purchase or sell within some intervals, and more especially if you are a trader that is making profits everyday or anytime you trade also sell whenever you make a profit, because right now i could not remember the last transactions i made within the week because is not written down anywhere, except it's for those that is buying small amount of cryptocurrency can equally know the specifics values of crypto they purchase at a specific time.
I understand that we all have different impressions and desires about our investment but I don't think there's a certain crypto trader who can boldly say she prefers to buy and sell Bitcoin almost every day when the day trader even switch their trading decision to an altcoin at some point.

The erratic price range makes Says unsure of mentioning it. because as a small trader, I just can't order to place an order. What is certain is that at this stage, my purchases are not worth the monthly income. because you know? I'm not a whale to place a large order and keep it in a cold wallet for a long time.

Then why do I dare to enter with minimal capital? What I think is that what I plant will always bear fruit. Even if it's a little, it's enough to show that the next generation won't have the current price I bought it for.

I don't know if there is a good price, anytime btc drop and you are suppose to buy then a tiny little voice will tell you maybe it will drop lower and you keep waiting for the next drop until perhaps it quickly reverse and you have missed the chance to buy, as long as the goal is mid to long term, I think buying from this current price is not that bad too.

Nowadays, many investors are just waiting for the right price and will come back again when they see everyone is buying at that price rate.
Some people are hoping to get a better price, most of it will be relative, but sometimes, instead of waiting for a good price to buy, it just won't go. and you lose the opportunity to buy. I buy bitcoin on the 10th of every month, it's simply my pay period. Lol, so I'm accumulating. I don't need to calculate the average price or choose a lower price.

I am really curious to know what is the average bitcoin buying price or the average price you bought BTC at in your portfolio currently?
Also, If you can comment that would be great. I want to see if there is any relation between Forum Rank and Bitcoin Average Price buying.
I was late but still able to invest at price range between $10k-$25k and still feel happy about it that I did not miss the boat at that time also and still prices are above $30k and my investment is bullish so don't have much panic about all these dips and ready to witness even more because in long run they tend to rise.

DCA, Dollar Cost Averaging is a good strategy when you invest in Bitcoin.

If you do DCA in the last 3 years, with $100 every month, your portfolio is up 344%, even during the dip, even at the time Bitcoin falls about 50% from its 2021 all time high.

It's difficult for me to estimate "the average bitcoin price". I accumulate most of my investment using the dollar cost averaging method. Therefore I have a budget to start with and allocate a specific amount of investment every month or so. Since I started buying bitcoins at a price below 10k, my average bitcoin buying price probably ranges between that value and 60k.  Cheesy

I am still confident that the market will come out good this year end but My buying price would be 10-25k Usd and that will be my decision making at least at surely 15-18k .

But of course if i felt like recovery will come even when it is at 26k? i can buy easily as my funds are always ready for chances like this.

Looks like many has voted 10k-25k, everyone seems to get ready for that to happen. In that case, as soon as the price fell to that price it will suddenly pump up again and people should not doubt it since that is the majority decision. It may not be 100% sure but at least we have some lead on what will gonna happen. Nowadays, many investors are just waiting for the right price and will come back again when they see everyone is buying at that price rate.
and that is the safest position to buy on our part since the market is still going  strong
now so making a decision when to buy is really something that we must take a look.

The price at $30k-$32k in my opinion is the lowest price in the last 3 months to date, I think at that price it is a good time to buy at this time, it could explore another opportunity to hold long term investments, before touches to $40k.

I agree for the past few months the price of $30k-$32k is the lowest price for Bitcoin, so it is highly recommended to buy Bitcoin at that price.
But the problem is I don't have extra money to buy more Bitcoin right now, so for the time being I chose to monitor the Bitcoin market and holding
Bitcoin which I had bought before. Hopefully the Bitcoin price can return to the $40k price, because the $40k resistance price is very difficult to pass.

Lol, I don't get what you mean? Average bitcoin price? I never paid attention to this problem, I just buy bitcoin whenever I feel the price is right for my fund range. Bitcoin value is infinite, it makes no sense to audit the average value when buying.

I am more of hodling now than buying. The price is already cheap now as compared to its higher prices in the past few months but it is still more expensive compared to the past few years. When I started purchasing small amounts of Bitcoin, the price was way below $20,000.

I did not actually make a computation as to the average price of my Bitcoin buys but I guess it must be within the range of $10,000 to $25,000. Already voted for it.

I bought bitcoin at 34K but I still have more fund to buy it more. My predictions is the Lowest price of bitcoin at this bearish market is around 20K - 35K. I still waiting the bitcoin price fall again so I can buy more. I think bitcoin price can't fall bellow 20k so once it reach 25k - 20k I will spend all of my fund to do lump sump buying at that price. I think elon musk tweets also made more new people invest in bitcoin so I little bit more careful because if the growing number of bitcoin users is increase abnormally then the way I calculate should be different too.

Agreed, and despite BTC dropping into the 30K region a couple of times I can't help but think that it would be a good time to buy considering the market is looking relatively strong.
Having bought at under 20K and not have sold yet is obviously not the best, and so I'd have expected a higher vote on the 30K range...
Let's consider the current very strong support around $30k as the strong support around $6,500 in November 2018 before Bitcoin was dumped to under $3,300. If you go to bed when price is hanging about $6,500 then wake up and see a price below $3,300. It is a nightmare definitely.

But don't feel bad, what happened after December 2018 is a good lesson but crypto market is not for weak hands.

Another lesson is March 2020 when people thought Bitcoin would be dumped more to $1k.

If whales play the same fractal game, price can be dumped to $15k or below $20k. They might do this but I don't bet it will happen and I don't want to miss a discount price around $30k.

The average bought price of institutes is around $30,000 and they will try to hold it as strong support.

We can not believe that they won't manipulate the market and dump the price deeper. They have too big capital and they can play with price, fud, and bring Bitcoin to lower price, just to help them accumulating more Bitcoin with same capital they want to spend.

Whatever their plans are, if price falls more, accumulate more, and do more DCAs.

Personally, I do not think there's a average bitcoin buying price. My bitcoin buying price is wholly dependent on the price of bitcoin. If, however, you're talking about the average price of all the time I've bought bitcoin, then I think the average should be below $25k.
For me, as long as I have made my analysis of the market, then any price is a good point to enter the market and make interest.

I personally started in bitcoin since 2015, i was able to make a few satoshis from the internet, but i was only able to actually invest in it in 2017 where i got my hand on my first few paychecks from my job and i was able to save 2k that i  invested immediately in bitcoin, and it proved to be the best investment that i ever made where in the same year bitcoin was able to reach 20k, and ever since that day every extra money that i have goes straight to bitcoin and crypto.
Started on the same year and made out some investments but somehow i do make out some sell when it hit up some percentage gains and its a bit regrettable but theres no turning back on time now.

When it comes to my buying average price then it wouldnt really be that fix based up on the poll because any price could really be a good entry and since i do always follow TA's

then it would really be on random from time to time.Thing here is that i do have coins allocated for long term and i do have some coins allocated for active trades.

As long as i earn then i would be continuing this kind of behavior.

I am not sure about the average bitcoin buying price because, since 2015-2016, I am tried to buy bitcoin every time the price is a dump. But maybe the price will be at $1k- $50k because I think that is my average buying price and in that range, I have so many buying and selling prices. But at this moment, I tried to buy bitcoin from $30k-$34k and sell it if I see the profit.

I am one of those lucky guys, who got Bitcoin at less than $1,000 per coin. I made the purchase in January 2017, when the exchange rates were around $900 per coin. If my memory is correct, then I paid a markup of around 5% in Localbitcoins. So in the end, the purchase price came to around $950 per coin. Back then, I had almost called off the purchase, because 5% commission is a bit too much. But now looking back, I am quite relieved that I went ahead with the trade. Else, it would have been a big loss for me. Anyway, that was the only occasion when I purchased BTC with fiat.
you made the right decision at that time, and I didn't even know bitcoin at that time. I started buying bitcoin when the price was $5K at that time, and because I was just a beginner, I sold it at $8K, at that time I was psychologically shaken to see the first profit I got, and finally panicked to sell, if only I was able to hold it until now, maybe i can smile big

Below $1000 to be honest. I’m lucky enough to have been around in 2015 when I bought most of my coins for a price many would consider very cheap.

Looks like we are the same, after that I actually don't buy bitcoin anymore. But I doubled it with BTC trading pairs. I sometimes also make it USDT to double it again. But I think it's already different with the intent of this topic.

The holdwave from Glassnode show many bitcoiners are hodling their bitcoin and even they bought at the 2017 All time high, they still have profit, even during the crash from $64k to $29k.

Take dips and do Dollar Cost Averaging.

Sounds like a plan, pooya.

I am also trying to do something like this however I am little bit late to the party i.e. I have started accumulating BTC from 2020.
I still don't have a complete 1BTC but I am close to my goal Smiley

Thanks for motivating.
No problem. Let me give you more of my personal history which others may also share for extra motivation.

The first time I heard about bitcoin was from a close friend who I stupidly ignored. It was back when you could easily mine bitcoin on your PC using your CPU and later with your GPU and get the sweet 50-12.5BTC reward. It was probably somewhere in 2012.
When I started in bitcoin world it was 2014 after the big bubble burst and during the big bear market. I endured a lot of FUD and dumps as I said before price was still going down from about $500 and it went all the way down to $150.

In fact I believe I have lived through one of the biggest bitcoin FUDs to this day which came from a bitcoin core developer called Mike Hearn who outright called bitcoin "dead" as he quit bitcoin. This was 5.5 years ago. The media coverage on this was huge, in comparison the FUD these days talking about China ban or Musk nonsense don't even come close! an article

Long story short all these years I ignored all the FUD and the drama that always circulated the media about bitcoin. I simply looked under the hood, increased my technical knowledge and saw the real potential of bitcoin and the financial sovereignty that it offers which is priceless if you think about it.
This is why I always refer to bitcoin (specially in dips) as cheap or undervalued.
This is quite a knowledge, thanks for sharing this with me.

Also, I strongly believe what Hal said as I posted in one of my posts:
Just don't forget these words by Hal and you all will be good.

"With 20 million coins, that gives each coin a value of about $10 million."

I am on a long journey and getting profits is not what I am here for.
You know what? I might die with all my crypto still in wallets.  Wink

Glad I am part of a revolution.

Currently the bitcoin price is $33k but i like to buy it at a range of $10k-$25k. Even i can say that if it comes below 20 then at a price of $19k i will prefer it more and will buy at this range, which will be better for me.
Why be squeamish when you can go much lower than that I mean there's still a chance that bitcoin could go back to 4 figures prices this year even though there's no clear for doing that but we all know that it's possible because of bitcoin's volatility. For me though, I would probably have bitcoin go at any 4 digit figure before I buy because I want to make the most out of my capital because if it ever goes down to that point, I am sure that the surge in prices is going to be much bigger.

I have sub 1,000$ and sub 10,000$ price that I bought Bitcoin in my portfolio. I also bought a lot during the Pandemic when the price is 3,000$ and I'm still gonna hold on it as long as I can. This is a long game game, specially if you are a investors and not a trader and speculator. And I'm sure that those who have bought Bitcoin at a cheap price are not going to sell all their stash in one go. Even at all time high of $64,000, I doubt that there are long term holders who dump it.

Buying bitcoin for me is not a one time thing where I dump a lot of money in at a certain price and that would be it. Instead buying bitcoin is a constant operation whenever I get some extra cash that I dump and I have been doing it ever since price was about $400 back in 2014 and continued falling down to $150 and I kept at it until $60k and will continue dumping fiat until bitcoin is $10 million.
Of course I don't only buy bitcoin, I earn it and sometimes it is profit from trading shitcoins. So it is hard for me to come up with an average.

Got some when bitcoin dropped down to $3k before. And if it will gonna go down just below 20k, I will definitely buy some again. And about that forum rank, there is no significant correlation between price buying, etc. It all depends on each member what price do they wanted to buy bitcoin, as long as they know how to make some profit out of it. Then regardless of the price, it will definitely be worth it.

While I also hold some and DCA, I can easily part with anything in a whim if I see that there is something wrong with the project like development, roadmap timeliness, the community, partners, etc., etc. I never buy, hold nor sell based on emotions but based on market conditions and project conditions. I just find it boring to just hold forever when there are ways to increase my bags. time of holding for me can last from a few days to several years depending on conditions.

I'm a small investor and usually play with my coins. 2017 was the last year that I was actively buying bitcoin; I have no idea what the technology is; I invest anywhere with no caution; I treat it like a token for an arcade game center. Now, I only earn it by offering services. I almost bought and risk money during the bull run this year, with the idea that it might peak higher. Luckily, I prioritize something else.

Funny answers! I would have expected more choice below $1000k Cheesy Honestly, I have never bought any Bitcoin over 4k. And for 4k I bought last year only because the price had collapsed so violently by Corona that I was sure that it would rise again sooner or later, and because I had some cash left to invest. The most Bitcoin I bought somewhere between $80 and $600. Over the time, I have sold some Bitcoins from time to time, which of course have a high value, but relative to all purchased I have sold only about 50% so far.

Bought most of it when it went up to $10k, then sold at around $40k, then started DCA'ing just recently. My recent portfolio is pretty random since I don't really give a damn anymore about what the price is whenever I buy in monthly, I just buy it, end of the story.
Also, If you can comment that would be great. I want to see if there is any relation between Forum Rank and Bitcoin Average Price buying.
Don't think so? Even if they were newbies here, that simply means they are new to the forum, and not necessarily new to the market. Though you'd hardly see most of the old members here panicking at Bitcoin crashing since they've seen it all.

If there's going to be a correlation, it's likely going to be a non-airdropped merit count than rank. With the assumption that high non-airdropped merit count is equal to high Bitcoin/crypto knowledge; hence probably higher likeliness to buy and not panic sell in bear markets.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
This is hard because for Person like me that there is no consistent price to buy ? i think i will just vote for thebelow 25k for now as i have already holding my target amount now .
but of course if given a  chance to add in the value i can afford to buy then why not.
My average bitcoin buying price depends and the season, at the present bitcoin price of $33k my average buying price is between $10k to $25k but if the Bitcoin market price goes below $25k, then I will consider buying at $19k but I don’t think in this season we will have such opportunity to buy Bitcoin that low as the market is in a resistance mood.
that's what we have now to buy at that range because Bitcoin seemingly not going to fall under 20kagain.
well not this year i believe.

If you are care about average price, you can do Dollar Cost Averaging or Satoshi Cost Averaging. Tools are there to help but it requires you to have patience, determination and long term vision.

Many people say they invest in Bitcoin but a few weeks later, a crash wipes them out from the market. They are fearful and call crashes as nightmare. They will come back and buy at top again, unfortunately.
