In my opinion, "Normal" price for Bitcoin for now is 9-11k USD. I know it is still pretty volatile and we can expect anything in next months (most possibly big uptrend due to recent fixes), but if Bitcoin grow too big too fast it will attract too much attention from governments so it will be harsh regulated and taxed if not destroyed by that legal thieves.
That is more or less the current range where bitcoin is moving however I think the issue with the governments is already here, there is no way to disguise that bitcoin is becoming more powerful despite their regulations so they are going to try to pass even more regulations but that is not going to stop bitcoin, what would they do after they realize their regulations had no effect in slowing down bitcoin? I do not know but it is possible we may see more bans in the future.

The normal price of bitcoin for me is when I see some profit on my portfolio which matters most for me. Its hard to say if its the normal price of bitcoin when you have negative sign on your portfolio. Bitcoin is great I know but this is very volatile so the price change every seconds and moves faster when you are sleeping, better not to set any normal price just look at you portfolio.

Normal price for me would be $10,000. I don't ask for more so that I'm good with whatever will happen to bitcoin's price.
If the price pumps then that will be a delight to me because I'm not expecting high.
Unlike those others that are not contented with what they see.

For me, there is no concept of a normal bitcoin price. I will not sell my strategic reserve of coins for less than 25-30K dollars. But this is only the minimum limit. I believe that the price of bitcoin will grow much higher. Perhaps the normal price is the price after which you are not ready to postpone the purchase of your dreams.

Yeah, I agree with you.

I think bitcoin will soon be 25-30k dollars.
But, I am not buying now.

I am felling comfortable  with how much money I invested in bitcoin. If I put more, i will be over invested and I will be watching bitcoin price all the time, and I may do something idiot like  a panic sell.

You have a point that is why it is better for us to set our goals, for how much value you want to sell your coins, don't think of the normal price just think of how are you going to maximize what you have. After setting your own price/profit, think what are you going to do with that profit before anything withdrawing your funds.

I am VERY bullish on bitcoin price. Not only because I hold bitcoins in my wallet. I also believe this blockchain technology to be useful in future with some extension/additions. 15000 dollar is even cheap to join such kind of thing.
Well having a normal price would mean that btc is kind of stable which is not the case since its very volatile. Perhaps at thia time the 10-11k price would be the "normal" range since its staying there for quite some time. But it will change eventually in the next weeks

The fact that bitcoin is volatile, it's hard to tell wether its current price is Normal or not.
It may be stagnant in $10k or above in a few weeks or months but the idea you have said that having a mark on its price is a wise move to record possible losses and gains.
Below $12k is a good mark but since it's below your own normal value, trying buying below the current price.

Basically i don't really feel a high expecting and i just following the flow that's going on.
I think $10k upwards for me is a normal price, because to my knowledge so far the price at $10k upwards has become a new history of bitcoin price movements that's in the middle of pumping.
Well i still feel optimistic and confident.. it will still going towards $20k again as in the previous year, i think it's have a high chance in this March.. the price movement would be tends towards to a higher.

My vote is just the same with the majority who voted that bitcoin's normal price is above 15K USD. I am quite sure it's where the normal price of bitcoin falls because it already reaches 20K USD last year.

Every one has a price in which they tend to buy Bitcoin. For me personally it is 12 K, if I see Bitcoin below that and have money I see it as a oppurtunity to buy. Though this is not backed by any research, this drives my strategy.

I thought if we could collect all such opinions, we could arrive at a price which everyone thinks as normal. Because if you think about it, all pur personal opinions of Bitcoin increase or decrease the price (Barring instance of manipulations by whales  Angry which we can't do anything about)
If you feel comfortable buying bitcoin at less than 12k then keep doing it, it is a bargain and while many could think that as expensive they are not going to think that when bitcoin reaches an amount way bigger than that, however you are never going to be able to reach a consensus about a good price to buy, everyone has their own standards and reasons to prefer to buy below a certain price.

for me 12k is normal price. I think in this month bitcoin will reach 12k, I am not hope bitcoin will reach 20k for me 12k is enough for now but bitcoin is always unpredictable, no problem if bitcoin price slowly to increase as long as the price does not drop significantly as before.

Personally I think $6k was it and we are going higher.

It should be it. If not, it would break through a pattern where the market in recent years never has dipped below the previous bottom. Based on that, anything below $7000 at that moment was an instant blind-yolo buy for me. I just knew that the pattern would remain unharmed, which indicates that it wasn't only me adding serious value to that fact. I however don't yet expect the $10,000 level to be a safe haven level yet, especially not with how thin and unwilling the market is to support what usually would be considered a base support level. In other words, bottom has been set in stone, but the market is not yet ready for another push, at least not beyond the $12,000 level yet. It will likely take an attempt or two/three to actually comfortably break it.

Some analyists like Tone Vays which have tons of followers on youtube, went as bearish as claiming $1300 was a possibility and we may hit that before we skyrocket again. At that moment was when I realized people was going out of their mind and losing sight, therefore I became bullish, since it was clear we were starting the "despair" phase as seen in the classic "bubble anatomy chart", ending at $5900.

Ideally we should spend a couple of week if not months at the lower $10,000 area. We don't want a step climb to ATH like last time. We went from $5555 in November 11th to $19,666 in December 17th, so basically a month + 7 days. A smooth climb of at least 3 months to get to a new ATH would be safer, and then once we hit the ATH, all the idiots that thought Bitcoin was dead will once again get exposed, creating parabolic FOMO to god knows were. Anywhere from $50,000 to $100k it's possible.

For this moment 10000$ level is good support level but market need more deeper corrections before coming back with impuls like pullback. Market is choppy and traders are looking for small gains. Normal price  for me is 15000$ under current statements.

I typically use the 200 day moving average to see where we are at. If we are below it, we are oversold, if we are above it, we may be overbought, of course this has certain margins which you can follow, some apply fibonacci retracements on 200 day moving averages to create models.

I like a model called the "mayer multiplier" that Trace Mayer uses to estimate periods of over or undersales. I think it's pretty accurate given past performance.

Personally I think $6k was it and we are going higher. The market is just now trying to deal with this fact, still in delusion about getting lower. This is the scenario that creates further FOMOs out of nowhere. Everyone is paranoid about each other.

Bitcoin has the capacity to get to $1,000,000 if bitcoin has the ability to move upward above  $15,000 and I have seen that bitcoin should not stay below  $15,000. I think from the next quarter of the year we should see bitcoin moving in a very high momentum.
A great demand will be needed so that thing could happen soon, that is why we need to support each others hand don't let someone not to do this thing, don't be too selfish, as we need each other to support and to encourage people for us to have a good price which will make us all rich people.

Since bitcoin has already reached an all time high of 20,000$+ and based on other experts’ predictions, i believe that bitcoin’s normal price will be above 15,000$. Let’s just wait and see how things will unfold in the future of bitcoin.
yeah same here bitcoin normal prices for me are roundly equal to 15k almost this price is affordable for all, and people can also gain higher profit from that and for those who invested at 20k they all need prices to stay above 25k or more,

For me, if bitcoin somewhat reaches $10K, then I'm absolutely OK with that and I find it the normal or the true value of bitcoin in my opinion.

I don't like bitcoin being pushes to a certain levels and then crashes again because it bubbled. I would rather see the price moving in a normal and not so being pump like what we have seen last December.

There is no such thing as the normal or standard price of BTC.

I understand that the title of this thread is a bit misleading, but it perfectly demonstrates how people ignore the OP and just talk about how there isn't a normal price, etc.

Quoting the main part of OP.

Every one has a price in which they tend to buy Bitcoin. For me personally it is 12 K, if I see Bitcoin below that and have money I see it as a oppurtunity to buy. Though this is not backed by any research, this drives my strategy.

In other words, what is the price that you would start to consider buying at? Obviously, it's all based on the phases this market goes through, which basically means that while you may consider to not buy at current levels, or the levels below that, you may do so at a later point if have more confidence in the market for example. In that case you can choose to stay in fiat instead of aiming at a target price.

There is no such thing as the normal or standard price of BTC.
If this post was written 2 years ago when the price was less than $1000 then you would assume that we may never see prices above $10k.
Because a price that high was simply unthinkable at that point - now when we know that bitcoin can go as high as $20k+ you are basing your opinion on that.

Price of bitcoin is totally fluid and the market will shape it at will according to supply & demand law.

there is no restriction on my normal price think brought 14k it is a low price ,, i have analyzed and appears the numbers that will be created in this year the lowest price up to the 35k range (if it happens and the highest price range is 68k I think, , as this is the point where bitcoin begins to fall and will explode in the middle of this year and maybe the price increase will be very striking

Don't care about the value of bitcoin in US $, because if you're doing trades from crypto to crypto, USD should be of your least concern. I remember the trades where I bought a so and so coin at like 0.1$ and all of a sudden it is 0.5$ but I'm in a loss because my base was bitcoin and not fiat. If you're doing fiat trades, then the price is not fixed or normal, because most of us started during the early times and we are still in a huge gain. Doesn't matter if you get a small loss.

Normal meaning realistic or normal meaning where it should be now in my opinion?
Realistically it should be going up at least $100 a month. If we disregard the rush in December it should be somewhere around $6000 right now. This would be a healthy rise if it went from 5 to 6 thousand between November and March.

This strategy is flawed. Your strategy may be effective now but how about in the future, another target "normal" price? What if your "normal" price was just a history now? Then you won't buy more?

The basis for your strategy should be based from the percentage of drop in Bitcoin's price. Percentile pattern are always close to each other, IMO. Very much reliable that instantiating "normal" price.

Agreed. This would all me irrelevant in a matter of months (may be even weeks). Was trying to get the current opinion, not for future reference. If there are a lot of votes now, it would be fun to look back after a few years.

If you are asking about my buying price, I would like to buy Bitcoin as cheap as possible and that would be around $1k.  But if you are asking me my selling price, of course $60k would be great though I am wondering if Bitcoin would really go that high this year.  Oh well it is better to have some hope than not believing on what I am holding.
Definitely, but be more realistic that range will be far expected for now, the normal price bitcoin can around $15k, but I voted for less than that amout now since we werent at it's peak season and we lots of dip, having Bitcoin ATH around $17,900 , I believe it can be more than that by the 3rd quarter of 2018. Hopig is the only thing we can do for now.

Taking into account the consistent way in which bitcoin performed throughout 2015 and 2016, the "normal" price of bitcoin at this time should not exceed $5,000. But given the current conditions of volatility and great speculation, it would not be strange that by the middle of this year we can see a price around $40,000, although I would be very happy if the price stayed around $10,000 for many years.
The hype towards bitcoin could pump to that high price just easy like what happened few months ago. Once bitcoin hittin' new ATH again, we'll see crazy speculation coming, greater volatility and mass adoption resulting newcomers who have hadn't any experiences trying to get involved into the train while they have no clue to what they're investing.
This cycle will seem to be repeated again and again. Just don't know when bitcoin could be atleast stable with just 1-5% price movement a week. Maybe when we reach thousand billions market cap.

If I'm not mistaken, my last actual buy and hold purchase was below $200 back in early 2015. After that the only reason I bought and sold coins was for trading purposes, which I am still doing, and will continue to do even if the market is hovering over the $100,000 level. As trader I am out to take advantage of the volatility this market experiences, and as long as the swings are there, it doesn't matter if you buy at $5000 or $10,000. All the profits made will flow right into my cold wallets, and the initial fiat capital will be used continuously to repeat the cycle for plenty of more years. I do not cash out any profits to my bank account, and probably never will. The term trade your way up is my motivation.
I think that the same concepts pyкoвoдитьcя many users кpиптoвaлюты. but no one and not answered question, with respect to the fact that for US or for a specific person is the normal price on bitcoin. for me it is very important, as for me still remains a mystery, what it is a member of the value of bitcoin.

I don't have a buying price. I do have a spending price. Above $10,000 I'll happily spend on whatever junk I'm in the mood for. If it goes significantly below that then I'll hold off.

Will I bitterly regret this spending in the years to come? Unquestionably. But it's nowhere near as bad as spending in the $250 range. I have a bit of tat lying around from that area too but the majority is broken or chucked away. Still, I'm doing my bit for commerce.

I don't know it fit's a psychological barrier of some sort, but I had the same exact thing in mind a month ago, when it started to correct. I have my stash that's been growing since 2014 and I haven't spent any of those old coins throughout the whole 2017. I even made it a little bigger. I also have what I consider burnable income and that's mainly my campaign money that I like to use to invest in various projects and spend whenever I need anything, mostly electronics, clothes, things like that.
Back when it was at $15k I was in a spending spree, but as it started to fall I sold all my burnable coins and bought back close to the bottom (first at around $9k and continued as we were going down). I told myself that I won't spend anything at these prices, it would be nothing more than a wasted opportunity.
As I'm writing this some people are dumping to take us back to 9k, hoping for panic sellers to do their thing.

Bitcoin increase and decrease in price can not be controlled like what you say, there will never be a normal price because Bitcoin price is always changing every time because it is influenced by various aspects, one of them is the aspect of demand and also the market condition. The more people who believe in using Bitcoin, the more the price increases and when people's trust decreases, the price of Bitcoin will follow the decline. It is a characteristic that we can not get rid of, there is no prediction that can mention the accuracy of Bitcoin prices. All of us are the ones that determine the Bitcoin price, even when bitcoin costs 1 USD or 100,000 USD. Anything can happen because Bitcoin always shows its magic.

Can't put a definite price on to something that's still young and growing day by day. But to give you how much I value bitcoin, at its current state, I'd say anywhere on our level right now is an acceptable and fair valuation. Wouldn't ask for much in the meantime since there are still lots of things that I think bitcoin is short of, that is a stimulated economy and a better scaling solution, which is up to now, quite debatable to say the least even with the recent decrease on tx fees and increased confirmation times. Anything lower is still acceptable, though quite surprising given the number of new money and huge investors buying in @ $6000 and above.

PS: The value always changes too. People might be wating for a drop to $50K to buy in the future (Fingers crossed...)

Today $10k might seem expensive to certain people, where tomorrow it might turn out to have been an absolute steal -- that's the nature of this market. I remember how I back in the days kept accumulating coins every week and month till the price reached $500. It's not that I didn't believe in the market anymore, but just the fact that for me personally, I had accumulated a decent number of coins already, so from that point I decided to just stick to holding. It perfectly demonstrates the different phases we have gone through in the last years, and will still go through, because I strongly believe that even at peak levels of nearly $20k, we still haven't seen even 10% of Bitcoin's ultimate potential price.

The "normal" bitcoin price is between $ 9,000 to $ 10.000, whereas the bitcoin speculative price for this year is only up to $ 22.000 - $ 27.000. Because, the support of some countries against bitcoin has dropped dramatically and they have published its own crypto.

It is difficult to estimate a normal price of a cryptocurrency that depends on the free play of supply and demand, and the reliability and ease of making payments. However, an increase in value can be expected, since each time it is corrected and therefore offers greater confidence to the market; consequently, generate more buyers of this currency and therefore greater value.

I choose above 15k because bitcoin possibly may reach to that price this year. That's true it is hard to speculate the price due to btc may swing fast to increase or going lower its value. All is possible to happen let's check the price what may hit this year.

For sure most of us didnt expect for bitcoins price to dip even go lower as $6k usd per bitcoin this is why i do assume that the lower prices the better for each anyone of us.Price is way too volatile and pointing out a certain normal price range for you to buy would really be hard but if i do really have to choose i would go for 9-10k price which as of the recent price chart theres a strong support into that area.I do always go with the flow.

True. I feel the same way too. I thought during the dip (still think) that BTC below 10K$ is a steal. Just wanted to see how many people share my views, so I started this poll (Few of my friends thought BTC was going to go below 5K and stay there).

This is hard choice, because everyone has a different 'normal' price.
It depends on when did you have take a part into bitcoin community.
for me, it is around $9k.

The very reason I created this poll...

At the current market situation, I feel that below $11,000 is a good buy. Bitcoin price is rising now, if it hit $15,000 by end of Feb, I will have to readjust my “buy” accordingly.

I believe that the bitcoin now is still at a very low price, so i'm still very bullish on the bitcoin will have a further rise, and then I have bought at $6000 - $10000 a lot of bitcoin.

My speculation is 5k usd for a normal price of bitcoin because I think bitcoin will not reach above 15k usd because it will always fall down when it will reach its peak.

Where have you been in the last few months? It was 20k already but it dropped down significantly last month, it is now start to rise again and I dont think it is impossible to be back at $20k or even more this year.
For me, normal price when it is suitable for me to buy is under 8k, means that when it get dumped under that price I will take the opportunity to buy as much as I can afford to lose.

if we talk about the normal price, then everyone has a different perception. bitcoin will be stable and move only in the range of 10k - 12k until the end of Q2 later. i predict in the Q3 bitcoin will move up and skyrocket, price 20k - 25k is quite feasible at the end of this year.

I don't think what you are looking for is called "normal price". we don't actually have anything with that name. you can call a manipulated price (whether a bubble which is a higher price, or a big dump which is a lower price) as abnormal price. for example somewhere around $14k was normal but the rise to $20k was not and then the drop to $5900 was extremely abnormal!

additionally looking for prices like this is only good if you want to either make a one time long term investment like buying 21BTC in one go and then hold it for years, or it is good for day trading. but if you are investing in bitcoin constantly like buying some small amounts (20-50 bucks) every month from your salary then it shouldn't really matter what the price is at!

I voted for above $15k and for sure that will be seen, we have to wait for a couple of months or even after a year.
I hope the price of bitcoin can reach 25K this year
Let's wait for it and that's a very possible price to be seen for this year as every price now in bitcoin isn't impossible to be reached high or low.
Yeah I think it is possible to reach $20K or more in this year because the price keeps recovering after thehuge crashes now people started to hold the bitcoin which is really a good thing we can see that from the number of unconfirmed trasactions in the memepool was very less.
But I think it is the right time to buy whatever the price because soon the price will gonna shoot up like what happened in 2017 and the chances of price crashing again is less since more people started using segwit so the chance of climbing again the transaction fee is less that is the main reason for the bitcoin crash since 2017.

The 11k-12k $ is the best price for bitcoin in 2018. The crypto market is currently being buffered and the green light has started. But there will definitely be a limit for bitcoin.
bitcoin will stay at an average price of 11k-12k $. There will be no price fluctuations this year.
most likely like that bro! bitcoin will stabilize its price in the $ 12k figure before starting its journey to reach $ 20k. this will be interesting in my opinion, because there will still be a price lump in this year. but, 2018 this will be a very good start for btc. I hope btc increases steadily for the market to be crowded again and become a hot potato.

Actually , we can't predict buddy. Well, as of this moment the value of bitcoin is still increasing which means we can't assure everything if it will be decrease or increase it value. In some point it is still fluctuating but base on my own perception it is still increasing but I'm not sure if it will be the same way. Bitcoin is really unpredictable so be aware all the time possible outcome of this value.

Price drops down fast because of many fuds, and some banning bitcoin in other country. This is the big effect when a news come out that bitcoin will be stop or whatsoever price decrease fast. When ask when it will he stable for that bitcoin is always volatile it cannot stable.
