Realize it's a fairly small consideration, but if I'm releasing a new coin, how high would you set the total supply of coins?

Anyone have a favorite?  21 million? 1 billion?  100 billion?  Any reason it's your favorite?

Thanks!

1 billion sound about right for the future if people still want to use this coin for 50 or 100 years later.

I stopped reading when you started talking about releasing another coin.

I like coins under 2 million.  Lyrabar, Fractalcoin, Keycoin.  I like Unitus too, it has a relatively low supply (now under 30 million) and uses 5 algos which are all merge-mineable.  So with all those miners, of all different algos, a lot of them merge-mining their main coins and dumping Unitus because it's "free", it helps to have a lower supply IMO.

I did like Sapience XAI, which has less than a million, but it's currently in community takeover limbo.

Every altcoin will be worth less than Bitcoin, for the foreseeable future.  There's no need to generate billions of them to have a cheap coin.
