I like pop music, since i listen it the most, maybe i'd love regee if would be listening to it the most. I think for me it's more what i listen when i listen to the radio, so if it's mostly rock i will love rock, if it is pop i will love pop, it really depends what is mostly on  the radio for me.

Trance/House and all that is all I've been listening to the last 3 years
Trance truly is the best genre out there! I like deep house as well.. My favourite DJ is Armin Van Buuren! I saw him live twice! Armin Only: Intense and ASOT 500

I love his podcast "state of trance".... I also like Gareth Emery podcast.  I'd like to listen to it more, but lately while I'm at my computer I've had to have max concentration and can't listen to music Sad
Gareth Emery is in my top 5 <3 I love ASOT and listen to it RELIGIOUSLY every thursday!

Heavy metal, though I'm rather picky about it.

I love music that progresses, and while all sorts of genres have a beautiful, softer side to them, heavy metal is the only genre for me that can climax with the intensity and energy that it does.

I'm also an introvert, so heavy metal sort of balances the stimulus of the environment with the stimulus in my head.

It's a bit different for me. I don't like any particular genre of music. In fact most of the music doesn't do it for me. But when I watch a show like some type of anime, I usually listen to the theme song every time. This causes the song to be stuck in my head and I start to like the song. I've done this for most of the songs that I like. The song doesn't have to be completely Japanese either. Some of the pokemon these songs are amazing too. I have a playlist that has these songs and it's the best one for me. Those songs just grew on me.

Hard to say "favorite". I grew up a punk. Lots of ska punk, old school hardcore, reggae and dancehall. then got into 90s emo (a la Reversal of Man, Saetia, Orchid and not what you are probably thinking) and post-hardcore (Glassjaw, Sunny Day Real Estate, etc).... these days I listen to a lot of jazz and blues....

 Cool

moar srsly though, I grew up with metal, industrial, alternative etc, nowadays I'm open to anything, but I seem to still prefer if there is some handmade element in the music, and I can sense if music is honest and comes from the heart (i.e. not the millionth rip-off).

anything electronic and with scratching

I also like electronic but I can't bear scratching... for me music has to be melodic and well-arranged.

Apart from electronic I also like traditional music with real instruments. I try to be open-minded, because there is a lot of great music in various genres. For every mood there is music that fits, you just have to find it.

Metal and Rock here.  Mostly the more contemporary stuff.  Don't mind a bit of electronic music every now and then, but much prefer a live band performing to a crowd.  It's not the same if it's just a DJ with a mixing deck.

Rock; A dying breed in this generation because of WHUPWHUPWHUP and WURPWhooRP, and BURRRDURR, and "Yo, I has money bitch" and such.

It might be a smaller demographic nowadays, but styles change and there's still plenty of new and talented musicians breaking through.

Classic rock / Rock n Roll / Folk / Psychedelic / British Hall / Blue / Hard Rock / Blues Rock / Country. These are the best no doubt, Beatles, Kinks, Stones, Doors etc. Some of genres are ok for certain situations. Techno based dance music is decent, Jazz is good, Metal can be ok when done by someone good like Rage Against The Machine.

such an exhaustive answer  Smiley

Classic rock / Rock n Roll / Folk / Psychedelic / British Hall / Blue / Hard Rock / Blues Rock / Country. These are the best no doubt, Beatles, Kinks, Stones, Doors etc. Some of genres are ok for certain situations. Techno based dance music is decent, Jazz is good, Metal can be ok when done by someone good like Rage Against The Machine.

I pretty much listen to anything as long as I like it. But most of it is usually more of the heavy kind.

i see most of you, bitcointalk guys, like heavy music, that's an interesting trend.

I listen to a pretty broad set of music. But if I really have to choose I'd say electronic. More specifically ambient, chillwave and glitch hop.
