What is your one memory related to Bitcoin that you want to forget? It can be anything like some sort of scam happening to you or some other type of loss.
I first heard about Bitcoin back in 2014. I had a few great chances to acquire some Bitcoin by playing games and solving captchas, but I didn't pay much attention to it. Instead, I was fully absorbed in playing pointless games and overlooked these opportunities. Then came a second opportunity when my best friend approached me with the idea of investing in Bitcoin when its price was only around $500. These could have been two fantastic opportunities that had the potential to completely transform my life.

I would like to forget the losses I had for scams, gambling and the lost opportunity of acquiring more Bitcoin when it was still pretty cheap on the beginning of crypto market. To remember I could have purchased several BTCs back then, which would proportionate me to be a millionaire right now is somehow painful, although I don't think about it often, even because it won't change anything in the present moment. I believe we have to move on and do the best we can with the currently opportunities we have in our range. Memories can't be completely forgotten, but we can decrease the intensity and frequency we access them, and that is already enough to not suffer for past events.

Even if you buy it is a very good decision because we are still in early stage. Most people cannot think about long term investment even with mutual funds. But the people making highest profit with investment are only long term investors. It involves less tension also.

I still don't have many memories of bitcoin because I'm still new to bitcoin but actually regardless of whether it's a good memory or a bad memory I think I won't forget about it because for me everything that has happened including some stupid self-defeating actions that make us lose the bitcoins we save because of some things that also cannot be completely forgotten. because precisely with that will bring up a new experience and we can improve such behaviour so I will not forget about something like that because it is also useful even if it is a self-defeating action before.

There are two memories I want to forget, or, let's say, regret the most. First is the common problem of sending bitcoin assets. What happens here is that because of careless action, instead of sending the bitcoin to my other wallet address, it turns out my wallet address is wrong; it has a few missing letters in the end, which results in losing my asset. But thankfully, it's not that much, but I still want to forget about that mistake. Send is trading in bitcoin. What happens here is that I trade bitcoin while I'm drunk. I don't know why I did, but maybe because of the influence of the alcohol. I see the trade bright red in the morning, and my reaction is slapping my face or face palm. Instead of hoping that it will recover, I close the trade. And that is the most dumbest mistake that I want to forget in relation to bitcoin.

Bitcoin doubler, during the time that I entered bitcoin market, there's a lot of scams already, but one of the earliest is the doubler, not sure if anyone has the chance to witnessed it early in their career here or if this scam is still going on till this day. But I vividly remember that during those times there are a lot of bitcoin doubler than you can find and I fell victims to it.

Of course I was very gullible and I still very green that time. And I thought that I can make easy money but investing on this doubler. In the beginning they are really paying, so you will be entice to not withdraw the money but to roll it out. But before the second payment was to be made, the site suddenly went offline and then they say it's on maintenance. However, it was a exit already and after that it's gone and so I learn it the hard way that's why till now I can't forget that experience.

A lost private key is the memory I do not wish to remmeber, when Bitcoin was at its early days, I had a wallet I often used for all those shitty Bitcoin mining sites, I lost the private key to the wallet and it really did hurt as I believe I have some coins in there. Also, the fact that I spent one Bitcoin subscribing to such a miner is a provoking memory
I kinda relate to what you've said. I have the same situation where there is a certain site or wallet, I lost my private key because I was unable to save my private key and then suddenly I experienced a problem with my computer. While using my computer, it turned to a blue screen and needs to reformat. Every file on my computer needs to be erased. Even now, I want to forget about what happened by then.
Same on what I have experienced, I was to complacent that time because I know that I secured all the wallet ID to a private filed in Hdrive but suddenly a fortuitous event happened, there's no notification about software update or what, All the wallet ID has been lost in a blink of an eye. Charge to experience that's why today, I have At least 3 Back up for my Files because we didn't know when it will happen again.

I wish to forget what happened before, when I was scammed out of money from a bounty campaign, because I intended to utilize the money to start a business and invest in other coins. But when I continued to think about my money, the bounty award I received turned out to be a scam. That ruined my plans; I was shocked and can't believe it. I moved on, but it still hurts me now and then, so that's what I wanted to forget.

That's just one of many lessons in life, I think there's nothing sad because thanks to those times of losing money, we become more mature. I believe that no one is talented and smart enough to participate in the financial market without losing money or investing in scam projects...Anyone who wants to grow up needs to go through it and consider it an experience instead of being sad about it. Furthermore, there are still many opportunities for us now and in the future, just persevere and stand up after each fall, we will be able to regain what we lost in the past.

I had one of the worst experiences. I have invested in one of the shitcoins called Pumapay on Bittrex. When I invested, the bitcoin price was approximately $17K, and I invested about 1.5 bitcoins. When the bear comes, my funds are gone. I wasn't about to sell at a loss, so I held it. Then, even after a long time, when again bull came, the shitcoin was still dump. Actually, the team scams investors. Eventually, I sold everything for $100. So it was the biggest scam, and I lost everything. This is the memory I want to forget about how I lost my bitcoin. After that, I was very careful about my investment. I don't like any shitcoin except Bitcoin right now. So far, I have found that Bitcoin is real; all others just pump and dump.

That is the downside of investing in altcoins or shtcoins if you don't have any idea about the background of the coin and the team before investing on it. There's actually some good altcoins that we know and it's actually good to invest as well, but they can't never be better with Bitcoin. There's actually nothing wrong with investing with altcoins as long as you know the coin, and also by just simply doing 70/30. 70 for the Bitcoin and 30 for the altcoins, that way you can still accumulate Bitcoin while risking some of your money.

My biggest regret uptil now was missing out on the opportunity to Purchase bitcoin few years back when it was more cheaper, i had a close relative of mine who liked me and he was into cryptocurrency and wanted to teach me about it. He even laid more emphasis on acquiring Bitcoin and some few alt coins. That year alot of things happened in country, different investment platforms came into life and they all got people scammed all over the country so a lot of people were scared of online investments of any sort. I was also scammed in one of these platforms so i was scared to invest in any other platform so i didn’t take Bitcoin seriously and thought it was no different from the other scam investments.

This relative of mine tried to explain it to me properly and he also tried to prove that bitcoin was different and special but i didn’t give him listening ears. Few months later bitcoin became hot and more popular and i was seeing and hearing how people made a fortune out of it but despite that i still didn’t invest. Few years later i got interested in it but it was too late for me, this relative of mine passed away and i had no one to put me through so i missed out for a couple of years but i am lucky to have finally started my bitcoin journey. It is better late than never.
It seems understandable that you were not very willing to believe in bitcoin taking into account you have been burned recently, this is a very natural instinct and we have it precisely to avoid falling into the same kind of trap twice in a row, besides bitcoin is the kind of asset that can sound to be too good to be true for many people, and while in the majority of the cases those are scams in the case of bitcoin this is not the case, however what matters is that you are aware of its value and now you can invest in it free of any of those worries.

2. I want to forget my initial losses when I played on bitcoin casinos. It hurts me nowadays too, but I will try to forget it because if I tried to recover it I know I will lose what I have now.

If a person recover his lost money then he forget about his failure in past but if he fails to recover the whole money and again face losses then this reality is unforgettable. You should have to invest in bitcoin instead of playing on bitcoin casinos so the money you spend on casinos will be doubled now but as you miss the chance so forget about it and move forward because thoughts about past can discourage a person.

Don't try to recover your money in casinos because its a risky way but there is a choice for you that if you invest in bitcoin you will make a huge profit that you will easily forget you past failure. Recovering money has many ways therefore try to avoid casinos and if you have money as well as time so invest until next Bull run hopefully you will earn a big return.

Recovering lost money with another game is not a good choice. One should have a steady source of income for this.

It does not relate directly to Bitcoin but relates to my greed activities when I bought Bitcoin, used it to trade in Margin account, with leverages x5. I was liquidated and it is my bad memorial experience with my Bitcoin Margin Trading.

I know it is not responsibility of Bitcoin because I did it, I let my greediness controls my decision. I am responsible for it after I opened my Margin trading position with x5 leverage.

Anyone wants to get rich with leverages, can take my loss as their lessons.

I feel that all people new to Bitcoin do this same mistake. I have also faced this loss but amount was small.

I was not aware of PumaPay had become a scam. I remember it being really hyped up and they even had a partnership with Pornhub. The ability to make recurring payments with crypto was fascinating but I expected them to fail because this system would only be possible through their own wallet app and you could only use their shitcoin for payments. While I'm glad to have avoided this scam token there are a few other ICOs which I immensely regret having invested in.

What is your one memory related to Bitcoin that you want to forget? It can be anything like some sort of scam happening to you or some other type of loss.
Memories or bitter experiences in investing in Bitcoin are not to be forgotten, failure in Bitcoin investment often comes to investors who can burn some or all of their capital due to losses or being victims of fraud. For me, all of these incidents are the most valuable experiences. Every time I remember bitter experiences in the past, I always become cautious when investing.
Unpleasant experiences in the past will change a person's character for the better in the future, learning from experience will make you more alert so that the same incident does not happen again.
Bad experiences in investing are not to be forgotten, but must be used as lessons.
I tend to think the same, while we can wish that we did not made the mistakes we committed during our journey, it is precisely because of those mistakes that we could learn valuable lessons and avoid future mistakes, in my case I made the mistake of deleting a wallet which still had some bitcoin before I made my backup, I was really hurt at the time but as you may guess this is a mistake that is always in my mind when I create a new wallet and I have never made that kind of mistake ever again.

I don't like everything happened from the past even if I experience bad especially with those scamming happen or those trade failures I get since from that experiences I learn a lot and became more better crypto adopter.

If we try to forget about those past experiences without looking at the mistakes we made for sure we will never grow and might get deceive for another attempt made by these scammers. I know sometimes its hard to came back on the past activities we made since losing a lot of money really hurt us, but once we always remember those pain for sure we will be more careful on taking decisions especially on new things that we want to try. Experience is really a great teacher so we should look at the past happening since it can contribute good to our future.

Even though I had a lot of bitcoins and maybe hundreds of them in the past, and I sold them early, participated in ponzi games, used them for gambling...but all without regrets. To me, everything is experiences and life lessons that help us become more mature. Furthermore, there are still many opportunities available to us and it is up to us to seize them or continue to miss them. So I see no need to be sad or think about the past with regret. Life is about moving forward, not back, so why do we keep remembering it?

Years ago when I was learning a skills from a master someone happened to have some Bitcoin on him and he was a class mate of mine in school, I don't know how he got the Bitcoin and they are very cheap them, after seeing each other for a long time we got back together as friend and he wanted to gave me one BTc but my ignorance got in the way.

I told him that things like this don't last long, I was referring to the past bubble burst that was popular in the world back then, that was also the first time I heard the name Bitcoin, I wished I listened to him, like I don't know what was waiting for me a year later, because that was when the struggles in my family gets real and tougher.

A year later I could find this friend again, his number isn't working anymore and now if I give it a try a lady always pick up and she claimed she don't know who my old friend is, I am sure this friend of mine is no more in the country, I hope he is doing well wherever he is.

If there is a problem with fraud, thank God I have never experienced it so far, I hope fraud never happens to me. However, there is a feeling of regret and it is difficult to forget because of Bitcoin, and I try to forget and look to the future from now on.

What I want to forget are the memories of five years ago, at that time I actually had a friend who had invested in Bitcoin but at that time I didn't care and I considered it just an ordinary investment, in fact I considered it a seasonal investment. That's the thing I most want to forget because at that time I didn't immediately listen to my friend's advice to invest in Bitcoin.

But now I started focusing on investing in bitcoin at the end of last year, and I also feel encouraged because many users on this forum say it's never too late to invest in bitcoin.

When I sold all my Bitcoin in 2017 easily before the bull happened , i made the stupidest decision in my life that my funds would be multiplied by 6 if not made that wrong decision and now I never forget that time and still ringing in my mind every time bull run is near to come.

Fortunately, I do not think I have gone through something as disturbing and unsavory as being a scam victim, many scammers have tried, as usual, but it is easy to outsmart them and quickly realize one is being targeted.
It is not directly related to Bitcoin, but I would like to forget how a friend of mine joined a Ponzi scheme and he was completely unaware of it to the point of even suggesting me to join in as an "investing opportunity". In the end I had to tell him he was going to lose all his "invested capital" if he did not got out of it as soon as possible.
It is something I would love to forget because, even though I learnt from it, it was something which disturbed me for a while.
Taught me even people who I consider to be mature and inteligent can fall victim of the most obvious scams on the internet. As expected, the scammer used Tether to commit their massive theft.

TBH, it's hard for me to think of something that I want to forget.
I didn't get phished, didn't get scammed that huge money as well, I also made some good investment in the past, and still going good until now.

This isn't Bitcoin related per se, but I guess the fact that I got FOMO'ed when I was starting in trading is the one that I want to forget... or not because that taught me an important lesson as well when it comes to trading. I'm pretty sure many here when they are still newbie got FOMO'ed at some point of their investing journey as well. It's normal I guess, but what's important is you learn from that mistake.

Forgetting something that happened to you is kind of hard especially if that "thing" really taught you an important lesson. Whether it would be selling early, or buying things that you don't really need for Bitcoin, to getting scammed or phished.

When I've sold a couple of my bitcoins that I have acquire on the early days for non important things.
Thinking that I'll be able to collect them again and hold it again but then I was wrong because I wasn't able to take them back cheaply.
While I have the profit, yes, made profit with that but I was not happy with the purchase that I have made. A complete regret and mistake.

I dumped some of my bitcoins a few days after the halving because I was pessimistic about reaching a new ATH. I thought it could save its value, and it turned out to be the wrong decision.

But how could it be forgotten? I am actually happy to have learned this lesson and I will remember it to strengthen my principles as a holder.

Actually, it's not that I'm mortified but they are one of those things that make you reflect, so I always try to take the positive out of that lack of assertiveness during those years, in reality, as I always say, the past is an important reference for your present and future, And for those of us who arrive at the wrong time, it is something that we must remember, opportunities are always there, but we do not see them or we ignore them because of all the "smoke" ...

Whatever memories I have got from Bitcoin is worth memorable so I could handle it as a working tool either for cautiousness sake or energymatic anatomy of Bitcoin.
Else I wish to forget about the first period of time I was introduced to Bitcoin and had doubt about it but that shouldn't be a weigh down to me but serves a gear up.

I have a bad memory about bitcoin, but as a matter of fact i don't want to forget it because it tought me a valuable lesson how to store my bitcoin propely.

So, back in late 2017 (just a few days before Christmas) I fell for a phishing attempt and lost almost everything I had at the moment (it was ~0.1 BTC which for some may not be much but at that point it was a lot for me). When that happened I almost have up on bitcoin all together but after few days I managed to calm myself down and luckily continue my bitcoin journey.

What this experience thought me was that I should use proper wallet to store my bitcoin (read hardware wallet) instead of a shitty online wallet that I used up until then so in a way it was a blessing in disguise as it coul;d have hapepned to me later when I had more bitcoin.

My biggest mistake was not investing in Bitcoin when I first got to know about it. It was in 2017, I got introduced to a ponzi scheme where Bitcoin was used for the investment. I got scammed, I lost my funds and as a result of what happened, I developed a cold feet concerning anything crypto-related. Then, I had the money but I didn't have the knowledge and that sad experience scared me away. It took me some years to buy Bitcoin again and this time around, I've done more research and gained some knowledge.

I would like to forget that I did not start investment in Bitcoin on time, and focus on trying to get more bitcoins now that I can before the halving, knowing that I am late. There are also people like me who have same story, we will be better if we can just forget about when we started. Continuing to think about the time that I have lost and dwelling on it will only make me loose more time, time that I should use in focusing on try to increase what I have.

Back in 2015, when I was first introduced to Bitcoin and complained about the high price of Bitcoin in my opinion, I postponed my Bitcoin investment. Until the 2017 bull run came. As a beginner, there may be times when I want to forget that I had to sell my Bitcoin investments I made during the bull run in a panic when entering the bear market.

It was sad to lose it all, even if I made a small investment in the first place. Looking back now, the crypto market is full of wish for me. But no matter what, I don't regret what I did because I made every decision of my own free will and I'm glad I met Bitcoin. There are still millions of people in the world who don't know about Bitcoin and we could have been one of them. Fortunately, we know about Bitcoin.

I made more good moves than bad. But truthfully I never believed in it from 2012 to 2017 monster rally.

So I could have grabbed 100 coins easy peasy in 2012 or early 2013.

Even if I dumped 50 of them in 2013 nov holding 50 of them I would have cashed for 65k
and if I dumped 25 in dec 2017 I would have cashed for 480k

and if I dumped 15 of them at 69k I would have had 1 million

and still have 10 coins at this moment.

I did not earn 1.545 mill and hold 10 btc. But I would say it could have.

I also did earn 200k and have a lot of gear right now along with some coin.

So I would argue I have  ⅛ of what was possible for me to have done.

But I would have had to believe in BTC back in 2012 more then some mining of it.

Ahh.. I really like such storytelling threads in which we can publicly explore the memories of others, which can be helpful as well in boosting the experience.

Sticking to the topic I would like to say, the Luna crash's impact on the Bitcoin market I would really be happy to remove it from my memory, but I'm thankful as well to have such experience to improve my decision-making power in such a condition, I want to completely remove that crisis from my journey, because there were a lot of things happened after that upset. Socially I've seen Luna bringing disaster in people's financial lives.

I was not too close to the people who got affected by it but from a few close ones I've heard how badly they got trapped & destroyed by their immature decisions. I also lost a little bit of precious Bitcoin holding in FOMO on that time.

Lol! A lot of memories I want to forget! Back in 2015, 16, 17, I had sold a lot of bitcoins at dirt cheap price compared to today's price. At least 6 Bitcoins I had sold back in those days at throw away price. I really regret those decisions. If I had kept those Bitcoins with me, I would have become a rich man today.

I didn't face a lot of scam in my life as I do my own research. But selling out bitcoin in early days, I could have seriously avoided.

I actually remember some mistakes that I made when I was a complete beginner in this cryptocurrency world. First of all I want to forget all those memories especially when I was initially inducted into the world of cryptocurrency with alternative coins I still regret why I didn't recognize Bitcoin in the beginning.
I remember when I first learned about bitcoin in cryptocurrency, bitcoin was around the current price and a few months after that the bullrun started.  I still laugh when I remember when bitcoin was almost at its dip I didn't invest but when bitcoin touched its all time high price I went around it and invested a fair amount even though it was trading purely on emotions.  Since then, the price of Bitcoin has gradually decreased to this price today.  The interesting thing is that I am still bearing that loss and see if there is a bullrun ahead, maybe the loss will be recovered.

I was cheated out of several hundred dollars in bitcoin when buying hash online 3 years ago. Initially the hash worked well and provided me with income, but unfortunately within 1 week of running the platform started to have problems and in the end I lost all my investment. Just imagine if I didn't buy that hash and held that bitcoin in my wallet and didn't use it, maybe I would have gotten tens of thousands of dollars. I really regret it to this day.

Probably I wish I could forget that I remember reading about bitcoin some years before I actually decided to buy them, maybe it was 2013, something like that, it was a tech website that I used to check from time to time, and I remember that they had an article mentioning bitcoin, I remember reading it, but maybe it wasn't well written, maybe I didn't pay too much attention, anyway I didn't do anything about it. Some years later I read again about bitcoin but this this there were way more info about and it really got me intrigued, that's when my interest actually began. 3 years later probably...

Well, I think I want to forget the fact that I knew about Bitcoin far back when the price was around $1k, but I did not buy it then. Also, I want to forget that I could not find myself or my way to this forum when I first heard about Bitcoin. If I had had those two opportunities then, I probably would have been more educated technology-wise than I am now. I would also have become friends with some programmers here. Although this is not some word of regret or anything, as your topic said, it is something that I cannot forget, even if I want to.

What is your one memory related to Bitcoin that you want to forget? It can be anything like some sort of scam happening to you or some other type of loss.
As long as I know Bitcoin from the beginning until now, I don't think I have ever experienced any bad memories. On the contrary, bitcoin has helped the economy for me and my family. Although my main bitcoin assets are still unsold because I personally am still waiting for the upcoming bull market.
But so far I consider bitcoin a very helpful investment asset. Because with bitcoin I became aware of this BTT forum.
Therefore, I hope Bitcoin remains a blessing for me personally and also for my family. Because if you look at other people's experiences in the bitcoin realm, quite a few have been deceived by certain individuals. So, I am very grateful because I am always given luck and security in investing in Bitcoin.

All the smoothness that I experienced while getting to know Bitcoin until now, maybe it's all because I don't interact too much with people who are involved in the world of Bitcoin, both in the real world and in cyberspace, (except in this forum). So, when I was a beginner in the field of bitcoin investment, I never tried strange things like sending bitcoins to people who were able to make my bitcoin assets increase many times over. However, at that time I only focused on studying all knowledge related to the world of bitcoin and also focused on continuing to collect cold money to invest in bitcoin.
So maybe because of that, I personally can avoid fraudsters in the bitcoin realm.

What is your one memory related to Bitcoin that you want to forget? It can be anything like some sort of scam happening to you or some other type of loss.
My painful experience was when I didn’t take the bold step to invest in eth in 2020, even when Bitcoin was making its moves, I saw the chance to invest in Eth when it was below $100 as at that time, I tried talking to my brothers about it who were not crypto inclined as at that time, my effort to convince them was in vain rather they discouraged me about investing saying it was an audio money and they don’t believe buying a coin will make them rich. Due to my ignorance and lack of knowledge I was discouraged and use the money I wanted to invest with on something else. Till this day I still regret not following my intuition,  Eth is now over $1000 I would have accumulated a lot of wealth if had make the move on Eth, my brothers now believes in crypto and they feel so sorry discouraging me into investing in Eth years back.
Now I have better understanding about the crypto space, I enroll in classes and also fix my self where I can get information about promising crypto projects. I know it’s not too late for me to step in, I even told them this, and now we are all ears down to hear waiting for opportunities to dive in. The bottom point of my story is try to get your fact right do more research about the project your looking to invest. Ignorance they say is a disease and it’s what cause most of us not to partake in the last bull run, but then the interesting thing about the space is that is never too late to step in they are other promising projects in the spaces one can acquire wealth, we just need to find the right projects to invest in.

What is your one memory related to Bitcoin that you want to forget? It can be anything like some sort of scam happening to you or some other type of loss.

My first time of using bitcoin was to make a payment to my scammer. I actually sent fiat to someone who bought bitcoin and sent it to my wallet and I sent BTC that approximately worth 0.2BTC to scammer. After everything turned out to be a scam, I was pained because I lost a few thousand dollars. But when I later understood what bitcoin is and remembered that I once lost 0.2BTC, I alway tend to cry. It is not a nice memory to me.

Assuming I wasn't scammed and I used that money to buy bitcoin and hold, by now, I should be able to own 1BTC.

In the beginning Bitcoin was King and in the opinion of many Bitcoiners.... all other Alt coins were shitcoins, so we never bought any of those coins and missed out on a lot of profit.  Tongue

To be fair, that line of thinking surely saved your rear more than once, right?
(right?)

I'm pretty sure pretty much every single altcoin trader had the same experience, but: my 2016-2019 trading era. I would've had far more bitcoin right now if only I traded those years a lot better, or maybe if I hadn't traded instead at all.

The old saying goes, everyone in crypto is a trader, but almost nobody in crypto is a professional trader. Smiley

Anyway, I guess wasting my time with faucets that paid out satoshis is probably something I'd rather forget about, especially since I could've been doing some actual work.

The first time I received some Satoshi into my Blockchain wallet will remain one of my most memorable day related to Bitcoin, I still remembered that day with nostalgia, I don't think I ever forget that day when I did some faucet task then and having newly open a new wallet guided by google and pasted my address to the sender Lo and Behold I opened my wallet and saw some Satoshi with decimal value that was Bitcoin in real time, that first payment motivated me to continue with the task even though the amount of small then but it was a very memorable experience that worth sharing here.

I have forgotten it but not to really forget it because it is one of the memories where I also made Bitcoin. Cloud mining is one of the scams that has happened to me. In those years, cloud mining was very popular and did provide decent results, especially if we could have large hash power.

One of the popular ones is HashOcean, which is one of the biggest scams that I can remember. Many investors have lost a lot of money in that company but I also wonder if they could get a return before they got scammed. In my early years of getting to know Bitcoin, apart from playing with the faucet, I also used cloud mining to earn a lot of satoshis.

Another thing is when I still have the opportunity to see the price of Bitcoin at $200. At that time, I didn't buy it because I didn't have enough money but I played around on the faucet, which allowed me a lot of Bitcoins. Well, I was quite lucky at that time because the faucet was still giving 0.01 BTC or more a day but the price of Bitcoin was also still very low.

My biggest mistake was staying in altcoins during a bear market. The original plan was to sell everything and buy bitcoin, but the bear market began and I did not have time to do this, then I decided to wait, with the hope that the market would recover, this did not happen and I spent the entire bear market with altcoins, I suffered huge losses, lost a lot of bitcoins. This is a lesson that will always be with me - never try to hold altcoins - this is the worst idea.

What is your one memory related to Bitcoin that you want to forget? It can be anything like some sort of scam happening to you or some other type of loss.

I only regret the several mistakes I have made for myself through several exchanges, because in the past I more often entrusted certain exchanges to store assets. Even though that was the wrong way, I started to change the pattern to be more different by taking all the assets on the exchange and moving them into my personal wallet.

Apart from that, I was also deceived by an unknown person via email who offered me many benefits, but he shared how it worked via a phishing link which made me have to reset the device that I was using at the time. Because he managed to take all my assets even though at that time I didn't have many crypto assets and the rest I had also made a mistake with a withdrawal which resulted in losing assets due to adding the wrong wallet. However, I consider this a normal mistake which can make me learn to be more disciplined and also be more careful so as not to experience the same thing again in the future.

The one thing I always want to forget that is related to Bitcoin, was when I was hooked on online casinos. I'm using BTC to wager, I spend so much on it as the price of Bitcoin is not that high. But then seeing the price of Bitcoin from 2017, the price of Bitcoin suddenly goes up.
I want to forget what happened to me that time as I regret what I did. I spend a lot of money instead of holding it. Anybody might say during that time it was still not valuable, but still, if only I hold it I may be able to spend it in a better way.

not buying again after Bitcoin's price crashed in 2018 after the ATH in 2017, I had the funds to buy at least 1 bitcoin at the time, and I wanted to buy but I didn't do it because of FUD.

not that I want to forget this memory even though every time I remember it, I feel some kind of regret for not going through with what I wanted to do.

It is when I have ignored buying when I was still new. Not buying a lot is one of my regrets because I was still trying to learn what Bitcoin was when I was still a newbie. Because of the proliferation of scams and unknown schemes, that had made me not purchase a lot even though I am not rich but has a little savings several years ago. But still, I was able to stay on Bitcoin and learned along the way on what Bitcoin really was and those skeptics like me for a short period of time or not really a skeptic because I was still unsure probably have the same thoughts during the early days.

I’ve had plenty of negative experiences. I’ve invested in shitcoins, lost way too much gambling, got scammed a few times. I’ve learned important lessons from these mistakes so I wouldn’t necessarily want to forget them but it’s something I’ve compartmentalized in order to avoid feeling distressed about it.

One thing in my memory way back 2017 that I want to forget is not having a back up copy of my wallet address and keys. That's one of the worst thing that happened to me when I was a beginner in
blockchain, bitcoin and crypto world. My desktop was accidentally reformat and All the coins that I acquired in bounty campaign, white paper translation and some side hustle in crypto was loss in just a snap. I don't have any back up which resulted of losing huge amount of money. Charge to experience and one of the biggest lesson for me.

Before I had a lot of Bitcoins I started to buy some random altcoins. So if I just held my Bitcoin only even though there were a lot of bear markets already, I should've lot of Bitcoin and less of losses.
Well, it's very lesson for me because I was a beginner before, for sure a lot of people can relate to me.
Just like when I was a beginner, and at that time I was still very easily tempted by altcoins and new altcoins. And when the market was bearish, the altcoins I owned experienced huge losses, plus several new altcoins ended with nothing.
However, as time goes by I understand that when the market is bearish, altcoins experience sharper and higher declines and losses compared to Bitcoin which only experiences small losses. And all of these are very valuable lessons and they all start from beginners because we learn from babies who can just crawl until we can stand and run.

Sincerely there are things left untold. Each an every one has there tereble experience in one way the other. Mine was that some crypto I stocked on my non custodiall wallet was lost because of pasphrase misplacement. And that has thought me a lesson of my life never to joke with pasphrase. When a wallet is newly opened,  before sending any coin to it one needs to keep your key in safe place before stacking coin in it. The wost mistake one can make is stack coin in a safe which is no longer safe after losing access to youy furtune. that reminds me of a thread created in this Bitcoin discussion that someone lost access to his 8k Bitcoin that was a kind of huge amount of BTC. Although mine was not much like $30 but no matter how small it is, one still needs to be careful.

I had a terrible start with Bitcoin and if not that I knew how helpful Bitcoin can be right from the beginning, I wouldn't be close to Bitcoin ever again. When I started, it was difficult buying Bitcoin due to FX restrictions in my country, so we relied entirely on third parties which are individuals that had found their way around it. Scammers seized the opportunity to deal with us ruthlessly. I fell into the hands of scammers on many occasions, loosing various amounts of my hard-earned money. I'm just happy I did not quit then.

Fortunately,  I'm not struggling to forget the terrible experiences I had joining Bitcoin... I have already forgotten them and moved on. There is a saying that "whatever does not kill you, only make you stronger". Perhaps those experiences form the basis for my trust and confidence in Bitcoin.

There are at least two events related to Bitcoin that made me cringe always and of course I want to forget and if possible I could revisit the time and make a different decision. One, I sold my Bitcoin at the time when it was just valued at $3K and it was because my brother need more capital for his fledging business - seems to me then I have no choice but to let it go. Two, I got so bored with the movement of Bitcoin that I decided to sold them all and replace with Bitcoin Vault or BTCV which of course was just another pump and dump coin. All in all, these two resulted into me losing money especially with the rate of Bitcoin we have now. Can we please invest a time machine so I can go back and rectify these big mistakes?

dont be greedy
It does not relate directly to Bitcoin but relates to my greed activities when I bought Bitcoin, used it to trade in Margin account, with leverages x5. I was liquidated and it is my bad memorial experience with my Bitcoin Margin Trading.

I know it is not responsibility of Bitcoin because I did it, I let my greediness controls my decision. I am responsible for it after I opened my Margin trading position with x5 leverage.

Anyone wants to get rich with leverages, can take my loss as their lessons.

And this isn't much different from me. In 2021 I saw friends on social media sharing screenshots of profits using the future trading feature from Binance with x20 leverage. A 20% price increase seemed very easy to get, so I tried to open a futures trading account on Binance as well.

Because I'm working remotely and the Covid pandemic is still busy, I can focus on trading futures. Unfortunately, I didn't know the big risks I was taking and only thought about profits. That was my stupidest act, voluntarily giving my money to Binance because my assets were liquidated. I can still bear the amount, but it still hurts because I really regret not studying it first and just following the FOMO of my friends on social media.

This is a mistake I really want to forget so it doesn't happen again. I have learned from this mistake and consider this my stupidest disgrace.

I experienced a loss when buying and holding synereo-AMP in 2018-2019. With capital of 4 BTC and it ended up being 0.4 BTC because the price continued to fall. This is a ridiculous thing where I have Bitcoin but am tempted by altcoins, I know that at that time ICOs and altcoins experienced a bubble, the price of altcoins soared, and I was interested in investing there, but unfortunately it turned out that the bullrun and altseason period was starting to end and there was a big price drop. on Bitcoin and altcoins.

Mine would be having formatted wallets with certain amounts of coins. It wasn't bitcoin but it was alts which ETH, LTC, DOGE which were very low but then they exploded in price and I basically had no way to recover that data. It was overwritten probably hundreds of times and no point in getting it recovered.

This is why you should always back up your wallets even if you don't think you will use them. The tokens might be worthless now but you never know if one day they will make a comeback. I remember when bitcoin was $50K, I had tons of dust in old accounts that I recovered, was only 0.005 BTC or so but it was valuable then compared to 2015 when it was useless.
