There is a risk of bitcoins capacity to survive until the end. Bitcoin was not prepared to the surge of investors. Unless an improvement is done, the risk of bitcoins end will not be taken away.

I think bitcoin is stil young, not well developed for a massive use yet. That's why tx fees are so high now, because many people use it and higher fees are done first. Either core bitcoin developers adapt bitcoin to a massive usage (with lightning network and a fully supported segwitx2 for example), either another crypto will take the lead.

The future doesn't seem too bright to be honest.The lightening network implementations are taking forever to be implemented on the main-net.People are already moving towards BCH in copious quantities.It is not upto the core devs at the moment...I have supported bitcoin through the worst cases but this time paying $80 as transaction fees is a big no for me...
