You trying to place a wager on a team and the first thing that comes to your mind is checking stats, team history and all that and your decision is based on the numbers you see off your analysis ,and truth be said these stats don't usually come to your aid when the results come in.  So would you rather eye ball the game that interests you and pick an outcome off gut feeling and let luck lead the way, besides I think all outcomes have a probable chance of coming through?

So, which side do you guys roll with?

The most potential thing that I would eye for wagering on a certain game, I would always look after on their skills. That made me trust them in the first place, and I don't care what instances they would show but what's important is their capabilities to handle the game.
If they have all those strong holds in them, I believed that every rolls you had will eventually leads to winning streak.

I have a friend who is a team x hardcore fans and his prediction of that particular team is way better than average.
Too many factors to consider in general, but I would like to think that most fans know their team better than the overall league. However, watching every single team, is beyond achievable, as often matches clash, unless you want to dedicate your life to watching it all. Depending on the sport, that could be several hours per game.

Exactly!
I myself have a favourite team in a specific sport and I don't usually miss any of their games, but the problem is I don't get to thoroughly analyze some of their match up against the other team because I wasn't following every team's game.
Stats or numbers doesn't give you the whole picture. Sometimes you gotta watch how the opponent plays, just like how the professional players does everytime they face a tougher team, they'll have to watch the tapes.

For me, stats/game analysis is always better than just randomly pick a team to place a bet on.

Luck is the leader everywhere so I go that way because without luck, I have seen the best players retiring during a match that was won 80%-85% already. I don't think past performances can guarantee future results because every time, form of a person/team is different than what it was when they played their last game.

I'm going with the games and teams that I'm familiar with. I'm done doing some YOLO bets they were never been lucky to me. Good for those that have tried it and luck is always with them. But once you've been doing it and you're always exhausted, you just have to forget that this type of betting should come out already. Stats also matter as the numbers don't lie as long as I've got differences in comparison to which I need before betting, I'll use every single and possible factor to have a higher percentage of winning my bets.

I am a numbers kind of person, the casino is using those numbers against you so it makes sense for you to take a look at those same numbers to try to get an edge over the casino, this is something incredibly difficult to do but some people can do it, obviously this is not for everyone and there are many that will prefer to use their gut feeling, however while that has the potential to be more fun I think you are directly affecting your chances of ever beating the casino if you do so.

I go with public analysis most times and if it happens to correspond to what I have in my analysis, I will have higher hopes of winning. To get the public opinion is not just from anyone but through research on the internet to visit prediction sites. They give analysis on previous games and performance, I get their view and reviews of the game before placing a bet. I don't bet just by my own understanding alone but I don't rely on luck but sometimes I get favoured with luck.

My first priority is checking the previous statistic and analysis of the team before taking a final decision of betting, a positive statistic will ensure the odd to be in my favour of course these will bring in confidence in placing my bet, example in EPL Man City won five of their last previous matches while playing next against a bottom table club will boast the chances of wining my bet although the odd might be small however accumulating three to four odds of sure bets amount to wining reasonable amount of money, thus I always rolled with statistics.

For football/soccer I imagine a lot of people base it on the highlights of each team, with pundits pitching in. The perfect show for this in the UK, would be MOTD (Match of the day) since MOTD has highlights, as well as various pundits weighing in on their opinion of each team on that day.

However, it all depends on the team your friend supports. If they are a particularly good team in the league then statistically they are more likely to win more games, and since your friend supports the team I'd wager that he would be predicting for them to win more often than not.

Mourinho: "That's the way people that don't understand football analyse football, is with stats. I don't go for stats, I go for what I felt and I watch in the game..." (context)

That said, you should watch the team from day-1, or even in pre-season or qualification match for EURO/World cup. Then you will have a full understanding of the team, about its "power level." The downside of this method is obviously very time-consuming. I have a friend who is a team x hardcore fans and his prediction of that particular team is way better than average.

All of the gambling methods have a technical analysis aside from dice game and roulette of course but all of the gambling that cards are involved there are technical analysis there in which it is consist of numbers, statistics and lastly probability or the chance of winning that you've may get. The type of gambler I am is a guy who is in the part of technical analysis and strategies because when you compute that thing you will know the percentage of your winnings.

I mostly just rely on my luck and not really over assess things as it takes the fun out of the gambling experience. I'm in it mostly for the entertainment, not much for the profit but I'll take it when it presents itself. I am already stressed enough at work and I'm just finding some activities to kill time and gambling is one of those which I find entertaining despite me losing money every week. The amount that I'm losing isn't really something that's been bothering me, and I consider that as a form of payment for my entertainment so I'm not really bothered on numbers that much.

Any kind of gambling consists of various kinds of games that can be played, of course every bettor has the opportunity to win every bet that is placed, reality: overall/generally the advantage is always in favor of the bookie, speaking of statistical methods, although there are those who use these methods quite lucky, the fact is not always victory is always on our side, statistical methods in betting have exceptions: if, someone places a bet/plays with skill and is smart enough it is possible to bring someone to a bigger win, but it can't be 100% guaranteed.

In this case some other methods also work well in the world of gambling, as the OP mentioned, common example: luck, chance, Consider, choose the game, learn, control, practice is also a good thing to have a high win, Of course, everyone has their own way and method of betting, the point is: results and wins.

It really depends on the game. If it's dice or slots, I can try out some 'strategies' occasionally, but I know they won't lead to anything, and it's just based on luck. Strategies can only help manage money (for instance, by decreasing the bet after each loss you can spend less money on gambling), but not make more of it. When it's sports bets, it's a whole different story. Sometimes I just place a bet carelessly, but I usually do some research and try to assess the situation because I really think skills matter in this area. Since you seem to be asking about bets on sports, I'm the numbers person.

If I place a wager on a certain team or player, I most likely consider the stats rather than just pick either of them. I normally have basis when I do sports betting. But it is different if I am betting on a luck-based game. I don't do much computation when I am betting on a dice for example. I know that others are trying to find a pattern out of results. I treat luck-based games as purely games of luck. But that is different in sports betting.

Yes, all outcomes have a chance to actually come through, BUT stats, history, records, those actually show the chances of the team you're betting on to win. Note that it does NOT affect the results of the match, but it DOES show who's the better team, simple as that. Sure, you may lose your bet, but it was because records again, don't affect the result of the match. Even if one team was better than the other, it doesn't really mean that they'd snowball the match all the time. If that was the case, there'd honestly be no such thing as sports gambling.

I'm a 50/50 type, I eye ball some games and sometimes I do my own research about the teams fighting. Most of the time I just eyeball though. I mostly do eSports, and watching them for a few years know has given me enough knowledge to actually know what team is better than the other and I just base it on that.

besides I think all outcomes have a probable chance of coming through?

That's the very nature of statistics and analysis. If you flip a coin a hundred times, it might land 55 times on heads and 45 times on tails. However if the coin has no other flaws and is equally weighted on bother sides then the sensible person would understand the most likely result for the next 100 flips is a 50/50 outcome split between both options. The most dangerous (to their own wealth) type of gambler is one who doesn't do any research, because while they may win one great bet against the odds, the bookmaker/casino knows that they will return to make many losing bets. Another dangerous habit is getting the mindset that past bets are in any way linked to future bets, they are entirely independent - just because you lost by choosing black 5 times on a roulette table, doesn't increase the odds of a certain color coming out on the next go.
