That server case rig looks awesome, and would be great in a datacenter.

I found 3090s to be way too loud to deal with at home.

What are you charging for those rigs?

I had this problems once and all vanished the day I decide to build a solar energy instead, no I mine 24/7 a day and so far I've earned my ROI back, as for the solar set up it's almost done, in few weeks more I got all my units investment back, there is nothing compares to free electricity or green energy when doing crypto mining
In my country and my location - solar plant have ROI about 40-50 years. And this is exclude service. I dont know how your situation is possible. I have nether seen ROI less 2-3 years with solar energy.
You can never tell what type of parts he used, some people goes with used batteries as back ups and it serves very well and some even goes with used solar panels, all these are available everywhere, also we are in bull season so double and triple gains through mining already happened

Seriously it matters what your location is.

I have three two card pcs normal cases 2 cards per rig in 1 location.

this is a friends office. So a pc case is ideal.

Yes. Now even 2-3 GPUs rig gives nice profit. And if i have an opportunity to get cheap electricity - i moving rig in such location and accept with all the requirements.
I have seven locations for my gpus.

three spots need to be very very quiet
one spot can kind of loud
two spots can be as loud as I want.
I have 5 locations now and updating 3 another. And i have the same problem - somewhere i need to be quiet, somewhere i have not enough electricity power, somewhere i have no condition.

now pc cases for a normal build do not have ideal cooling but since these are in a working office they are not designed to run hot and loud.

one build is a pair of 3060tis pulls under 300 watts does around 120 mh and it is quiet.
build two is an amd 5600 and an amd 5500 pulls under 250 watts and does 70 mh very quiet
last build is an amd 5500 and a second amd 5500 under 200 watts and does 51mh almost silent

since my cost is free and quiet is key. these are good .

now in a large building where sound does not matter they would not be good.

I have seven locations for my gpus.

I'm always impressed with your life style when it comes to crypto mining philipma, would you be a mentor if I ask you? I'm waiting for bear market finally build the mining farm of my dream, GPUs are too costly right now and I don't have much money to just buy, looking for the cheapest way out

3080-3090 gives you maximum hashrate but also it gives you problems with PSU and cooling. Yet, if this rig stops - you losing huge hashrate. The best choice is 3060ti 3070, or RX5600-6800 as for me.
But every miner have his own conditions and that`s why there is no the best choice.

My absolute favorite is in server case style boxes.
Crazy easy and great cooling.
Biggest downside is noise.

That's a new favourite with eight GeForce RTX™ 3090. I also wonder about the temperature, how long have you had those bad-boys running problem free?

right now...   anything that works...  ive got Frankenstein rigs 3 of them.  what ever cards I can lay my hands on at a price that isnt insane.  which means low end cards but at very cheap prices.  which means not that many lol.  Have you seen the prices of r390s?  no i dont own any  theres a limit of  how low of a hashrate i will tolerate vs wattage.

btw.  I prefer wooden rigs.   no static, non conductive.  cheap to build and change as needed.  not to mention you can put a screw anywhere =>  pretty isnt important since no ones looking at it but you generally and even then it tends to be days between me looking at them.   I also prefer more space between my cards unlike that rig in the pic.  more space = more air flow and just more air to absorb IR heat off the card so less is radiated to the card next door.

I am debating aluminum blocks  inbetween the cards.   cheap from a metal supply shop

I think you guys never tried a good closed rig with right air pressure. Space between cards is enought if air flow is correct. With many kind of gpus (5600/5700 for example) you can take off fans from the gpus.
Open rig can work only in a small environment.

Even with the right air pressure I'd try to increase space between these, if you have 3080/3090 you knot how hot they are. Another solution might be a case with separated hot/cold airflow.

I'm using 4 Mining rigs with 6x GPUs on each and I'm doing this in my very home, no basement or garage but just inside a room, it's well ventilated and I believe that's all that matters, if one can afford extra coolings nice those cases with fans then it isn't bad either, OP is using RTX3090 which are pretty hotty but it all depends on the temp even if the cards are pretty close to each other in the rig

Are you for real? That's rtx3090 they are freaking hot on me temp and they need better cooling, running them side by side like that will kill them very soon, I prefer something like I'm image below

I prefer 6x gpu mining rigs with enough airflow between the graphics cards, I don't like cards getting too close to each other like crossfire builds, since you will be running the cards for 24hours per day it's better to leave space between the cards

I've never tried to use server case for crypto mining so I can't say or judge this build in any way but since you said they are cool them no problem, I don't like GPUs sitting too near to each other, good space between GPUs will even be more cooler

my opinion 3090 is very hot

that rig is so close in every card maybe if you want this rig use 3070 is safer in long term.

I also do not understand the point of installing such powerful and hot video cards close to each other. These are expensive video cards and my task is to make them work as long as possible, and not overheat in a closed case.
I do not want to argue which is better for the long-term operation of these video cards, but I believe that the farther these video cards are from each other, the longer they will mine and will not break.

If you left a space in-between  them and put four in the case you could use lower fans.
Still a very nice rig.

If I had access to the cases and the cards I would build them as 4 card rigs.

But I have a lot of space in the mine. I could fit 36 rigs of your size.

I can only provide 12000 watts for the space which would mean 10x 4 card rigs doing 11,400 watts

The space would be quit quiet. it would do about 4700 mh that is 1000mh less than what 2  Linzhi miners do.
