When it comes to platform where you can find peer to peer transaction, I think localbitcoins would still be the only better option that I know, I have quite done some peer to peer transaction trough it using their escrow services and I think it was great which you already know, so why not just go for the one you also know already rather than getting the ones that people would just shilled to you with no genuine facts.

The second option I would have also advised you to go for is a decentralized exchange which is what the exchange is designed for to eliminate third party involvement and when it comes to dex, I believe that you have also mentioned the best of them to do the transaction you want which is the BISQ, so I think you are good to go.

How do you plan on buying bitcoin with fiat money without a third part if you do not want to go to localbitcoins. I mean you can post on your countries section here on bitcointalk telling people you want to buy certain amount of bitcoin or want to sell certain amount of it but aside from that there is nothing I know. Maybe try to find ATM machines or maybe look for exchange offices that takes bitcoin? Those are all valid options. Aside from that there is really no way you can trade bitcoin without using some escrow because those escrows are for you.

I mean how do you plan on trading with someone using absolutely no escrow and hoping that you will not be scammed? Most of the time you will be scammed hence why there is a third party app to begin with, it is for your safety.

Are there any non-third party options out there?

Is it even possible to buy bitcoin with fiat without third party? .Banks and payments processors(which are third-parties) around the world help facilitate almost all fiat transactions between currencies.
It's still possible to buy bitcoin without a third party, one method is through fastbitcoin they sell bitcoin vouchers from their physical stores and you redeem it through their website. I used to buy vouchers on another site but I stopped and moved to other methods because their rates are very bad.
That's one downside of it, the fees are not in your favour that's why it is not a recommended method specially if you are a newbie. So with that said, I'll advise the OP to go to LBC or used some trusted escrows around the community. Specially if you are planning to buy huge amount of bitcoin.

LocalBitcoins has an escrow through a trusted third party, and Bisq has an escrow through a trusted arbitrator.

I think you can buy the Bitcoin from your friends if you don't have any other option then it is only wait available for you to buy Bitcoin from them and make your investment I think this will also helpful for lots of people and lots of people doing this.
It could also be a good option, but it's going to hard to find someone that you can really trust not even your friends. Because after all big money is involved here. So it's better safe than sorry.

Bisq is a Bitcoin Fiat Dex. Use responsibly
You mean like using automated escrow...more like smart-contract based escrow?
You probably can do that on a decentralized exchange called Atomicwallet.io.

OTC options - this is where you can arrange a place to meet up and do cash trades, paxful offers this, but I'd recommend using your local marketplaces for this.
Benefit of OTC is that you don't necessarily have to stick to offline transactions where you pay with cash. There are some platforms that just connect buyers and sellers where the exchange acts as an escrow.

The benefit is that you don't have to meet up and expose yourself to any risks, and you're not affecting the spot order book at all. Most of the high value OTC transactions happen this way. It's the most secure and liquid option.

Looking for ways to buy and sell without an intermediary is time consuming without the right contacts, which means that the price might have drastically changed already and therefore your opportunity is gone.

Forum escrow seems to be the best way to go but that still requires me to trust the escrow or if I don't use the escrow, I would have to trust the counter-party, who may have a reputation to uphold. Thanks for the information.

I know that there are chances that even how reputable a forum escrow is, there's a chance that the deal will not goes through smoothly. It's really difficult to build trust in someone.

BUT believed me, there are solid escrows here who will not ruin their reputation for this. Some reputable escrows here already hold a decent amount of funds in total. However, you might have difficulty to find another party to deal with but you can give it a shot.

Anyways, how much amount we are talking here? What fiat currency involved?

Not looking at the moment to trade anything. I wanted to know the options that are out there for when I do consider p2p trading and to see if there is a need for something like FiatDex.

I think within such forum, maybe you can express intentional for p2p directly, maybe it can be possible. Meanwhile, I know that could be possible in telegram groups that sell and buy crypto if you can locate in your country, better.

I think you would have a hard time finding one, but you should try and post it in the services section if you are willing to pay escrows and also want to send the money first, since you are a newbie, you would take the risk.

We cant say that this is 100% safe specially when transacting lots of bitcoin but still a better option rather than on risking P2P online.Same goes with physical p2p
where theres still risk on getting robbed. This is why people do make transactions on casual trustable 3rd parties even it does involved someone in the middle but they make it sure that they do have enough reputation and it does worth a try.

Though it is not fully online but OTC still remains your best choice. It will be quite difficult to get the exact of what you are looking for.
There are many sites out there where you can place your order to find a buyer or seller around you. Just remember to transact in a safe place.

Some exchange platform like liquid allows the use of your credit card to buy crypto directly. All you need to do is to complete the kyc verification in order to be compliance with AML. I have used indacoin before. They are also very good. you can buy directly using your credit card without any problem but the only limitation there is that you can only buy ETH or BTC. I am very sure there are still many centralized trusted crypto exchange platform that allow purchase of crypto using fiat.

P2P trades are really too tight right now and I can't think of any way to commence a trade smoothly here in the forum or out in your local area. There are still some people in the Currency Exchange section willing to do the trade, however not everyone would surely be willing to go first, unless both are trusted entities in this forum and can go on with entrusting funds to an escrow.  Those are the only options, and the route you would be taking if you really want to purchase some coins or trade them for fiat is to use a centralized exchange and be done with it.

There are a couple of options avaliable:

Centralized exchanges - such as Binance, Bittrex, Kucoin, Kraken, these ones are exchanges where you will usually need to verify your ID and then will be allowed to deposit fiat and buy BTC and other cryptocurrencies off.

Decentralized exchanges - an exchange where you will use your own funds and the exchange doesn't hold it, BISQ is the only one I can think of right now.

P2P marketplaces - these ones are platforms such as local bitcoins and paxful where you can find other people to buy BTC off

OTC options - this is where you can arrange a place to meet up and do cash trades, paxful offers this, but I'd recommend using your local marketplaces for this.
Centralized exchanges and OTC both are using third party based exchange which isn't OP looking for, seems like. P2P marketplace could be the best (using this forum), however, decentralized exchanges are also not comfortable with fiat.

You can use the forums but it could be hard to find someone to trade with If you're using a reversible payment method as you're a newbie and no one would trust you.
