This touches on the Movie Recommendation Station which is also in the Off-Topic sub-forum, although it seems to have died down.

You should check out the film Brake if you haven't already. It's not an amazing film, but it is a decent watch. Recommended if you like Buried and Phone Booth fo sho.

Full Metal Jacket (1987):

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Did your parents have any children that lived?
Private Gomer Pyle: Sir, yes, sir.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: I bet they regret that. You're so ugly you could be a modern art masterpiece! What's your name fat body?
Private Gomer Pyle: Sir, Leonard Lawrence, sir.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Lawrence? Lawrence what... of Arabia?
Private Gomer Pyle: Sir, no, sir.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: That name sounds like royalty. Are you royalty?
Private Gomer Pyle: Sir, no, sir.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Do you suck dicks?
Private Gomer Pyle: Sir, no, sir.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Bullshit. I bet you could suck a golf ball through a garden hose.
Private Gomer Pyle: Sir, no, sir.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: I don't like the name Lawrence, only faggots and sailors are called Lawrence. From now on you're Gomer Pyle.
Private Gomer Pyle: Sir, yes, sir.

If you like fantasies then go for Maleficent. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0163651/?ref_=nv_sr_1 .Its right now in cinemas.

The link you have given is for American Pie.  Grin

This is the IMDB link for Maleficent:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1587310/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Got good rating from the critics, but I am not going to watch the movie. I don't like Jolie. She is ugly.

The release is still some three weeks away. So the OP won't be able to watch it in any theater. Also, the initial release is in Indonesia and Philippines. The movie will be released in the US only 2 days after (27th June) the initial release.

Old boy (english version) very crazy movie

Original all the way man. Although the remake is good, it doesn't cut it.

Watch the original and see what you think, it's got less blatant gore but hits you in a more psychological way, and it's also a lot more convincing IMO. Be prepared for the octopus scene... Hint: you won't find the statement "No animals were harmed in the making of this film" in the credits.
Also the one-shot fight scene is just epic.

Noah was my most anticipated, so with that out of the way, my expectations are high for Interstellar, of course. Godzilla gets an honorable mention since I hope it will be the most thrilling movie of the year.
Do you imply that Noah is not worth watching?I see at IMDb http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1959490/?ref_=nv_sr_1 it has 6.4 ratings which is not that bad.

You should see Noah because it is an amazing film, using the basic story of Noah's ark to deliver a fantasy action/adventure and a psychological horror story and deliver a very relevant ecological message that's subtle. The visuals are out of this world, particularly one scene depicting the creation of the universe from the big bang to a scientifically accurate representation of what Darwinian evolution would look like sped up about a million times, the whole scene would feel right at home in an episode of Cosmos.

In all seriousness could rewatch V for Vendetta if you haven't seen it or Pi

I haven't watched V for Vendetta, so can't review it. Life of Pi was an amazing film, with excellent special effects. The story was a little bit lame, but the special effects make up for it.

Actually thanks for reminding me to watch life of pi, I was talking about the other Pi the one with the mathematician interesting enough for an Indie film one of the films that someone suggested in a movie thread on this forum so I gave it a try. (But considering it was a recent movie thread you guys are right in interpreting it as Life of Pi ha-ha my bad)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pi_(film)

I'll throw in Slumdog millionaire since I haven't seen it mentioned yet a bit old also if you feel like going to the theater I think Edge of Tomorrow looks pretty good.

I've been going through a slightly arty film phase, so I'll recommend:

"Drive" (beautifully shot, nice soundtrack)
"La Haine" (French film about poor guys/gangsters living in Paris, amazing cinematography, dark but very powerful and enjoyable)
"Tetsuo - The Iron Man" (One of the most bizarre things I've ever seen, gruesome and surreal cinematography. Highlights include a giant metal drill penis -you'll either laugh or scream!)
"Old Boy" (Brutal Korean film, very well made with a gripping story and some seriously shocking moments)
"Battle Royale" (This is a must see, totally over the top Japanese film which is basically the "original Hunger Games", bunch of schoolkids are forced to kill each other with assorted weapons, hilarity and tragedy ensues.)

Your right ,the effects on Life of Pi were amazing. But the film itself was so hammy, many unintentionally hilarious moments. And the ending was really self important and annoying.

Head of State (2003)

It's a very interesting movie which gives a glimpse into the lives of America's leaders. It is full of interesting political and socioeconomic theories.

If you don't care about politics at all, you will still find it amusing and enlightening. Please let me know what you think about the movie after you've watched it.

The one with Chris Rock in it? I detect a hint of sarcasm, but I'm not entirely sure if I've even seen that film.

Yep, according to IMDB it's directed by Chris Rock, written by Chris Rock, and stars Chris Rock.

It's a life-changing movie, I really recommend you watch it. Like right now.
Just looked at IMDb http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0325537/?ref_=nv_sr_1

My list for current and futures movies is
Godzilla currently in theaters
Jupiter ascending (nice wachowski brothers movie)
Edge of tomorrow ( seems good with tom cruise)
Riddick3
And at the end of the year hobbit 3 movie

I watched godzilla, it's not that good. :/  Not for my liking
I don't really like any movie in theaters right now.. but edge of tomorrow by Tom Cruise seems pretty amazing, you should add that to the list Smiley
