It could literally be a name of:

  • a token project
  • an NFT project
  • an influencer/YouTuber
  • a crypto news site
Maybe he has been watching the BitcoinTalk Youtube show and is now trying to find out who that ninja person is who is hosting it Smiley. Sorry mate, you will have to stick around for a few more episodes before he tells us who he is. I guess he can still be categorized as a Youtuber, probably not an influencer though.

That's it! Cheesy thank you
Okay so you were looking for the same i mentioned about @TryNinja? As there were many possibilities about your context so i tried listing about all the terms i recognised but when you specifically mentioned forum user and to that context only name that came in my mind was him.

But good if you have found your answer to what you were looking for then i would suggest you to lock the topic as now further discussion is not required.

context... I've seen either usernames with it or in signatures, I searched on this forum and found more hits, there is also a tool called Ninjatrader.
I think the post from mk4 is good enough, thanks for your explanations Smiley
There might be some uses with ninja in their name but if you have came across some forum member with this name then it must be TryNinja as he has developer and have built some sites and keep posting good technical content on forum.

He has own website forum related information and you can check it here : Ninjastic.space - BitcoinTalk Post/Address archive + API

Rest don't know some signatures matching to it and what you must have come across. You can check the above mentioned ones and tell whether there was anything you were looking for or not.

That's it! Cheesy thank you

I've seen the word Ninja in many contexts in crypto, can you explain what it is?

According to the unofficial definition of the forum in the context of the Bitcointalk Community Awards, the meaning would be as follows :

The award is given for exceptional contribution to the development of Bitcointalk, and for maintaining interest in blockchain ideology. A person whose activities are extremely useful for the crypto community, or someone without whom you cannot imagine a forum. This personality is a role model for aspiring bitcoiners. In this category, the truly creative people are judged, and now it's time to determine the best!

In addition, I did not notice that the term is used in connection with Bitcoin, except that we have at least one member who has that name as a nickname on the forum - @TryNinja.

As far as I know, the word "ninja" doesn't have a special meaning in the crypto world. However, in slang, it is often used as a synonym for an expert in a particular field, for example: marketing ninjas; ninja programmers (as hatshepsut93 has already mentioned). So if someone refers to themselves as a "ninja", they likely want to emphasize that they are very skilled at what they do. But may not be always the case.

I really know very well you are expecting a cogent answer via your question but NINJA has no full meaning, other potential and quality posters has put you through (true) about it, emphasising that you see someone bearing the name on the forum,
,...lol...you can choose anything you like as your username but is better to use your real name because of when you become influential to the community.

The word "ninja" means "expert" in programmer slang, so if someone calls themselves or someone else a crypto ninja, it means they are testifying to their expertise in this field. Some users could also have this word as a part of their username because it's simply a cool word.

etc. Give us more context. Though I doubt it's some sort of "terminology".

Can you give more information about how it's being used in a context? Like being used as a description.

I have an idea that it's like in the freelancing or employment world of being called like a 'rock star'. Because I've seen some descriptions that's being attached to a job hiring about being a rockstar or a ninja.

Well, go into more details OP if that's a certain crypto project or just a simple term used you've seen.

If you mean in terms of slang, it has no meaning in crypto. But there is a coin or token that is called Ninjaswap (Ninja). There is another coin or token called ninja also.
