Hello

I am curious what OS are you guys using on your mining computers. Your posts with answers why you are using that particular OS, and what mining software are you using will be much appriciated. I am doing this as a part of research, which will help me to decide what to (do not) do next.

Thank you

I voted Linux, but I actually use Linux and Windows. Right now, Windows is mining on the only GPU I have left in my desktop PC, and all my USB devices are on Linux. As I start using more and more ASICs, Linux will be the only OS I will be mining on.

CGMiner 3.2.1 on all of them.

Linux everywhere...

Haven't touched windows for 6 or 7 years...  Currently Ubuntu 13.04

My latest mining computer is a Raspberry pi which runs Raspbian (Debian).

If you want your rig to run stable, and not want to babysit it all the time, there really is not alternative to Linux (or any other unix like OS).

Well i have a windows 7 running rig and after initial setup and debug i don't need to babysit it at all. I think it's just the manner of "administration"

Agreed, and I am not even using Windows Smiley
Just use what OS you are most comfortable with.

The reason I use the LTS edition is that I do not like changing distros every 6 months. Wink
