Steemit is definitely not a scam, it has great idea about blogging on blockchain.
But hard fork probably damaged it hard, as I heard from friends whales (who has huge steempower) are getting all the money.

Steemit is like Patreon.. If you are familiar with Patreon ecosystem, then thats why people buy steems

I think it is more like Reddit.

Nope. The big payouts have hundreds of votes. The secret to Steemit is to build an audience of people who will follow you, and thus all your posts are listed in their feed. But in order to do that you need to be a good writer, plus do some networking (voting and commenting on other people's posts etc).

I completely agree with you here, its all about getting a massive audience to follow your feed and being able to reach out to more people which will automatically increase the number of votes you acquire for a particular post. Online fame can get you some dank cash sometimes and this is one of those situations.

Steemit is not a scam. But, is very difficult to make a decent income from it if you don't have a huge amount of steem power.

Is it possible that these powerful people vote for themselves (another account) to get 1000 dollars per day?

All I know is that I know nothing.
it is not scam, it is just a bad design in my opinion.
i did some calculations a while back and realized if you can provide high quality content then you would never post it on a third party platform like steemit, you would simply make a website (it is really cheap) and slowly grow it and earn a lot more with the traffic you get than you can ever get from steemit upvote payment peanuts.

in the early days of its release things were very different though. someone could just go there and make a 1000 bucks for nothing!

i think it is a hard thing to do but exploits always exist in any system.

I also saw someone earn $ 1000+ per post, and 1-2 post per day, and I think this is certainly the shady with internal staff.

The post form of Steemit is just like Reddit, but the difference is that if you want to get a high power on Reddit, then you have to manage your every post carefully, after the accumulation of time to succeed your popularity.

However, the initial members of steemit have a lot of steem, so that they can use it to make them immediately become a forum boss, and then these people then use steemit power to give others upvote (in fact, "others" most be themselves).

it's crazy!

is steemit a big scam??

I don't feel that Steemit is a scam, there's people that are using it to make them money though I don't really see anything else that will want me to use it. The daily usage for Steemit is not that interesting as well, I wouldn't recommend anyone with Bitcoin to go out and purchase Steemit while hoping that the price of the coin will go up because it doesn't really have a point to it.
