I will buy that psu but tell me one thing big for me, whats the name of the cable that have 8pins jack and i need to connect 4 risers to that cabble? SATA Power of risers. And how much pins i need to have in the psu for 4 gpu + risers?

How much PCI-e plugs your cards have?

You are buying 4 cards, do they have only 1 PCIE plug for additional power or 2 plugs?
PSU on your list have 2 cables with 2 pcie connector so you have 4 PCIE plugs available without additional slots on PSU available.

If your cards have only 1 PCIE plug for additional power you should be good.



You are speaking about the power cables which can be connected from the SMPS to the graphic cards buddy. Those cables only have the two diagonal point jacks in the one points and the other end will be on the SMPS with the single point. In PCIe card, you can find the SATA cable line and power cable to SMPS again. This cable have to connect on 1 to 12 watts point which can be find the middle row of SMPS.

I am talking about how much cables he gets in the package he is buying, and regarding to that what he can expect to connect out of the box without any converters from molex to 6pin plugs to power the cards.
I am trying to make it simple as I can because I know that our friend expects simple answer.
Not sure if your answer would be beneficial to him at all at his point of knowledge.

There is only this shit: RIOTORO Onyx SM 750W by Coolermaster (probably idk)

Not sure If i personally would go for that brand of PSU.
You have enough options from Corsair, EVGA, Thermaltake, Seasonic and few others that people have been using successfully during the years.
Take a look at some reviews from sites that have been testing PSU-u during the last 5 years for example JonnyGuru, Tomshardware and some other sites. I am sure you would find at least one model that has been well reviewed and is available to you for purchase.

Sure why not, neither Corsair or Gigabyte doesn't make their PSU all by themselves anyway.
Just take into account warranty, number of PCIe connectors and their length, also calculate that you have enough spare power so you don't torture your psu 24/7 on more than 70% of max power it can give you.

Why you can buy this one you mentioned. I hope you can utilize the 750 watts smps alone to have for 3 GB nvidia 1060 cards. You can get the power cables also 4 numbers in the box package itself. PCIe cards will can be able to buy with the separate package alone.
You know some of the cards would not work in the every 10 number of PCIe packs.

So do you think, using a PCI-E power cable extender, you could power 2x 1060 3GB using one PCI-E power cable that splits? And then use a 4-pin molex chain to power two risers?

I know each card pulls about 105W for my setup.

Soon enough you will get more GPUs, and should take that into consideration, i.e. I would suggest to get PSU which will be able handle 6x GPU. I am currently running 7x 1060 3gb with 750W PSU. Because I am using powerlimit of 75W for each of the cards the PSU is able to handle it. But:
1. the set up is not definately recommended due to lack of risk marginals
2. I need to powerlimit the GPUs, even if I could gain more with no powerlimit

morale of the story: Don't go cheap with PSU

So currently im squeezing 95 watts on my zotac 1060 mini. So I reckon 500 watt should be pushing it but obviously you can expand more cards at a later stage getting a bigger psu.
So if your board only accepts 4 cards, then you can get those PCI-E extenders which extends your PCI-E cards from 1 port to 4 ports XD.
I want to try one of those things at a later stage instead of having to buy new PSU ect...

1060 has a TDP of 120 Watt if the math count is 4x120 = 480 Watt. Power required 480 Watts. To be more secure buy 750 W or 850 W, to keep the other parts so as not to lack power. it's good to buy a voltmeter tool like kill a watt meter.

650W PSU is enough. My rig has 6 x 1060 with 850W PSU. I usually set power limit at 80%, so basically each GPU draws about 100W.

Count up the connectors carefully, and you might need to use one or more molex (preferred) or SATA to PCIe adapters, depending on what power connection(s) your risers accept.


Look at the underlying OEM before making a purchase. No-name generic PSUs should generally be avoided.

Can you suggest me some psu via ebay or amazon?
