What merchants should use, only they should know!

I use https://walletbit.com

They already have some modules done for opensource ecommerce platforms.

With walletbit it looks like the customer NEEDS to have walletbit as well as me, the seller.  Is this correct?

That's correct.
For me it suits me well, because i needed the module for a digital downloads shop, and using WalletBit, payments get confirmed instantly.
If they accepted payments straight from the bitcoin client that wouldn't be possible at all.

I think both walletbit and the opencart module are very nicely done but I can not rely on customers having walletbit.  If I keep opencart up, I will put in the walletbit module so those members can pay with it directly.

Well I did know. MyBitcoin was working fine for me. I really liked the fact it was basically the most powerful wallet service around. It was basically like PayPal in that you could do nearly everything with MyBitcoin alone. It was easy and efficient. But I guess they are also like PayPal in that they are complete scum bags. I'm just looking for some advice and alternative options that are said to be safe and reliable.

We have a (non documented) SCI currently being tested by some people. Contact me at [email protected] if you'd like to test and let us know what kind of features you need.

So far:

  • No fees
  • Ability to ask for payment in bitcoins
  • Single use link, or multiple use
  • Merchant data can be used and is passed back to the IPN
  • Ability to get a single bitcoin address instead of allowing user to login on mtgox. Deposits from mtgox are still instant, but the process can be made 100% whitelabel

Just a quick question, what SCI should merchants turn to now that MyBitcoin is gone? I've looked at a few Shopping Cart Interfaces such as PayFlow and BitcoinNotify but I want some more opinions before I implement anything. I would prefer something that has documentation/examples in PHP. Thanks.
