You should be buying ETH.

Now, or after it forks yet again?

BTC is the only crypto you should ever actually invest in, Any other coin is simply used as a pump and dump scheme. ETH and ETC are no different, these coins aren going to replace bitcoin, people will just buy them so they can sell at a higher price in order to acquire more bitcoin. What ive been wondering though is, is it even worth buying ETC at all? Has the hacker dumped his dao coins on it yet?

I speculate the hacker will not dump in the ETC chain but it will be in the ETH chain. He might be accumulating ETH right now thru the ETC/ETH market available in Poloniex and now Kraken. I also speculate after he dumps the ETH he will use this BTC to buy ETC supporting the original chain. There is now also outside support to the original Ethereum classic from bitcoiners which I think the hacker is one.

This. As the intruder's funds exist completely unmolested on the ETC chain, anything he can do to pump ETC will increase his net worth.

If you want to be relatively sure that you have roughly the same amount of value a week from now, choose bitcoin. If you want to take a wild, speculative gamble with that value, choose the ETH. Until they get that fork shit figured out, it's going to be entirely too volatile. And even if it isnt, the risk is too great unless you are doing it purely for speculation.

My opinion is buy bitcoins. It is very dangerous buying ETC right now because we do not know if this momentum will continue. We do not know if this it has solid support or is it just the people riding the bandwagon. So better be safe with your money and take the lesser risk.

you could buy both if you're dare 50% for bitcoin and the rest of your money with buying ETC and why both because

BTC = i have no doubt that bitcoin has the great cryptoccurency to invest especially for long term even though the prices not really good currently but i
believe there will be big pump soon
ETC = i will not explain for these coin because there are several thread said that these coin will going to the moon

because aim for all traders is profit i think those coin is deserve to buy and hold IMO

What should I buy: BTC or ETC?

what should you buy now?
ETC

why?
because it is being pumped, and there is a huge profit to be made here.

what should you buy later?
Bitcoin. because ethereum classic or no classic is just a pump and dump coin with no future especially since the developer is incompetant.
but bitcoin's future is a sure thing, and it has already been proven to be successful and growing.

Anything could happen to ETC. That means volatility which means money if you know how to play it and when to get out fast enough. It could be dead tomorrow for all we know.

BTC is the daddy and is here to stay. Are you gonna make money with it in the short term? The answer is probably not.

ETC has more upside potential. However BTC has more long term price stability.

What should I buy: BTC or ETC?

If you are not sure, then don'y buy at all. Neither of them.
Don't get advises from strangers, you don't know who is doing what on the market and what's his purpose.

It's OK to ask, but after reading all the answers think for yourself and research. Good luck.

PS. Since I believe that ETH/ETC is just a pump and dump asset, my answer is BTC.

What should I buy: BTC or ETC?

Every ETC costs approximately 275000 Satoshi. If you will buy ETC today, and if you are a bit lucky and the ETC price will rise up to 300000 Satoshi, then you will gain profit. That's a good stat. But did you even look at the price charts of ETC and BTC lately ? Just take a look and monitor it. But the best thing to buy is BTC rather than ETC. Because BTC is the bridge of all the currencies online. if you want to sell your DOGE into USD, you have to Convert it first into BTC and then convert it again into USD.
