but it's better to look for altcoins below the top 10, because there are still many coins that are undervalued,

You're taking more risk from that man. They are eventually undervalued because investors don't see them as valuable enough. It is always preferred to have in the top 10 coins as we can get assurance from them.

It is always better to invest on btc first .I am agree with you that he is a new on invest and that's why is asking it for and the suggestion if first go with btc and if he look into the altcoin it will better to look into the top altcoin on the market .I think it is always better to invest on the strong project which has strong concept and use case on crypto .He might choose the list from top 10 cause it helps to get a good return for long term .We can suggest him and did ,Do your own research which coin you really wanna invest cause he may loose his fund cause crypto market is always a high volatile market .You need to more patient after investing on any coin to get a good return always .

Those who came to this topic for an answer, I believe you search for an altcoin, which price will give you 200% profit as minimum, and you dont want to hold it for a long time. Am I correct? Check out price graphs and you would find out, that top10-30 cryptocurrency rarely makes huge price growths, they usually gain slowly. And with inflation, these gains turns into minor gains. That is why my suggestion is to invest in anything you want, but not in what was suggested to you.

i have same strategy too , in bear trend holding stable coin will give us more buying power and let people dump their coin till lowest price. altcoin give us double gains when it season started and it will make us bloody when it drop.

Then you have gold based ones, then you have some other based on some other etc, so you can get something here that would be diversified.

However, it would not really be that interesting to be fair, would probably be easier to do via your bank. Crypto + gold + stocks and having some dollars do help me out against our nations currency.

Its hard to tell there are a lot of good project you just need to be on a lookout for them. You should DYOR but if you are asking where to start. You should probably look at some DeFi and GameFi projects, they are popular atm for a reason. Im currently staking my ETH on Fantom and ReFi(They got cool rewards), im also staking some ETH on LunaFi while waiting for them to launch their dApp Lunabets used for crypto sports betting and casinos if that is your thing. And for GameFi im currently doing some P2E on AXIE and invested in the ENGN project, they had a trailer a few days ago. You could check it out if stuff like that interest you. Cheesy

Looks like you are not ready to invest in anything. You can't just go around asking people what is the "best" coin to invest in. People will give you biased answer. They will tell you to invest in coins that they have invested in. Even if it is a shitcoin and they know it, they will tell you to invest in those coins.
Why not make a list of coins, choose some and then do your own research before investing? Ask about a specific coin. Look at the community and see how active it is. You will know if a coin is a pump and dump coin or if it is a real coin with good use cases by just looking at the community.

I'm seeing a lot of clear-headed views here regarding Bitcoin, and Ethereum. They should come as first and be the biggest chunks in your portfolio, and smaller chunks maybe for risky degenerate gambling type of calls. Pay To Earn sector has some promising perspectives with projects coming out soon. Who's capitalizing on Sandbox/Metaverse type of developments, and who is bringing Unreal Engine in. If the war doesn't get nuclear then we might see some tech-savvy days ahead of us.

I second that. Right now, the market isn't showing any clear signs of trends that await us. So Bitcoin, being the top currency, is the safest bet, as during bad times it loses less than other coins, and during good times it can bring some profit. Just look at the top altcoins on the current market, and you'll see that they basically follow BTC movements now, but when Bitcoin is down by 8.8%, Ethereum is down by 9.6%, and Cardano by 12.1%. Of course, some are temporarily doing better or worse and any high-cap coin is alright, but why bother with them when there's Bitcoin?

Well, the top 10 of the market list is the most recommended for investment. Even to can search outside the forum, the majority will suggest these coins.

Don't ever get easily fooled by hyped projects especially as you are new into this ( I think). You will just lose if you miss the hype, that is why I suggest a reliable project that will surely give you a profit if you manage it carefully.

I agree with what he said that diversifying your portfolio doesn't mean that it is only on the cryptocurrency but other assets as well like the ones he said already as well or maybe add investing into business maybe like crowdfunding other business and the like.

As for my part, that is why I also quoted this because aside from my crypto investment I'm also investing into stock market and maybe real estate in the future. I thought of investing into Bonds as well but seeing its annual yield, I just decided to put my money into stock market (REITS in particular). But to answer you OP, since you are in a Bitcoin forum I think just focus on the top 10 coins but first at least have some knowledge because it will help you in your investment journey and it will you prevent getting scammed as well

I don't suggest hyped projects, not even new projects as the majority of them are scams, never waste your time digging which is one is legit and which is not.
