I kinda like the idea of getting some free coins for posting.

I don't like the idea of promoting gambling sites or mining gear/contracts.
Is there anything else that pays?

Gambling and mining contracts are among the few kinds of websites that can afford to get signature campaigns.

My suggestion is to try out all the gambling sites and find one which you personally use and believe in , then you can make your signature campaign well.

And last but not least , remember that you are selling your space for money and should not expect too much.

AFAIK the only campaigns that are still accepting new members are ones from gambling site operators and mining companies. I suppose you could try and rent out your sig to someone on the forum - but you probably wouldn't get as much.

You can find a consistently updated overview here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/overview-of-signature-ad-campaigns-333916

Yes, you can find some good affiliate program and promote it to earn some commission.A good example is you may be a  Bitcoin Hosting affiliate.

Again, most of the affiliate programs are from gambling sites.

While the only paid signature campaigns I am aware of are gambling sites and the mining thing, you may want to consider putting an affiliate link into your signature.  That isn't as good a deal obviously, but at least it could be a service you fully support.  For example, the freebitco.in faucet has a referral program.  Who doesn't want free coins?

Good Luck!

Majority of sig programs are for gambling sites.
A few others are for ASICs.
There is one for mixing service (bitmixer), you need to be Sr member to join and the pay is low. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/up-to-0035-btc-weekly-for-your-signature-new-rules-425135
You may also find some sig programs in altcoin marketplace section, but they pay in altcoins.
