So i created a free account on cryptodatadownload.  I then went to binance and entered the coin.  It gives me option to download CSV but when I do that, you can only look at the high, low, closing etc of the coin on previous dates.  Where is the chart for this?  Where am I suppose to click on?

I am trying to look for the price at say January 3, 2022 at say 8am USA West Coast time.

I enjoyed Historical prices view on Coinmarketcap back in the day too because it helped me make more informed decisions while having future price outlook in mind. Good luck.
Folks, are we using different CoinMarketCap sites? Because I still see Historical a data of different cryptocurrencies, for example Dogecoin historical price data
~

My bad. I found it after your reply.  It is hidden behind the "More statistics" button and it's the only way to access it. Initially, it was very much straightforward – once you get to the prices page, you see the option for historical prices. I guess I didn't look hard enough.

I just felt they removed the feature after their UI revamp.

Same here. I found the 'Historical data' link only after reading other comments here. They certainly made it hard to find.

Thank you, Bitcoin_Arena! Unfortunately, I don't have sMerits to share right now.  Kiss

Whenever I feel like I cannot find anything at Coinmarketcap, my next-to-go website is Coingecko.
I can understand what became the problem with CMC. Somehow they changed the view of the details and historical data has another button to be pressed unlike before. It's on the left side bottom of your screen.
CoinGecko on the other hand is easy to see, it's still like the old-school look of CMC and I like it better. CMC has maximized the usage of their right part screen for updates about the market from different pages or accounts so I do understand what they want to happen. It's us who need to adjust because there might be people who requested such an update for better reading.

Alternatively, you can also get coin price historical data on coingeko for example https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/ethereum/historical_data#panel

Okay so that coin is supported by binance, then I can do that?  Let say I want to check the price of a coin at a certain time.  That would work but I have to create a free account on cryptodatadownload?  So that would be best option?

Wait you mean I can just go to binance site and click on trading view to do this?  When I do that, it seem I can only go back 1 month max though?  I no longer have a binance account.

When I clicked on the custom date, I could go back to 2022.  The issue though is I wouldn't be able to check the price of the coin hourly though?  It seems to only go from one day to the next.
You can only fetch the last 1000 bars with a free TradingView account. If you want hourly data from years ago you'll need the upgraded/paid TradingView account.

So is there a way to check for that on binance?  Like say January 3, 2022 at 8am USA West Coast time compared to say 5pm USA West Coast time.
Yes, using the chart directly from Binance website ("Original" chart), you can get even the 1-minute chart, but then again it's limited to Binance data.

I believe you can access other exchange data for free from their platform as well.

Also how you know what time zones these sites use?  Tradingview uses different from binance right?  Tradingview is USA time but which time zone?  Binance is asia time zone right and which time zone?
You can select your desired timezone in TradingView (bottom right in the picture from my previous post). Not sure how to do it in Binance though, seems it's set to my local timezone.

Okay.  For example say you want to find the exact price of a coin such as dash or maker to make it simple and say on January 3, 2022.
You need a proper charting tool for this. As Jossiel said, you can use https://www.tradingview.com/chart/. Not all data will be available in the free plan though, you'll need to upgrade your membership to access it.

Here's one example for DASH/USDT price in Binance at 8 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time, January 3, 2022, using a paid TradingView account.

Or if you want to do it freely just use exchange data directly. AFAIK you can access all-time price data from the chart in the Binance dashboard. The drawback of this method is there's only that specific exchange data, e.g. Binance data, as opposed to all markets when you use a service like TradingView.

This one is a best website to check all-time Bitcoin Price.

https://bitcoin.zorinaq.com/price/

A start price on this chart is on 2009-10-05, which you can not find anywhere else.

Okay.  For example say you want to find the exact price of a coin such as dash or maker to make it simple and say on January 3, 2022.

But you want to know the price at say 8am West Coast USA time.  Or say at 5pm.  How would you do this?  Coinmarketcap allows you to go back and click on all in the graph but when you move your mouse slowly, you could sort of check daily but you can't even get the price at a certain time?  Say you want to know what the price of btc or dash was at 8am on that day.  Also what time zone does coinmarketcap use?  Example if you scroll through the graph and it show 5pm... what time is it in USA West Coast Time?

Is there a way to do this for altcoins?  And how?  I know coinmarketcap you can check the history and what the high, low and closing price is for each coin for many years ago but what if you want to know the price of that coin at say 8am West Coast USA time?  Or say 5pm West Coast USA time?  Is there a way to do that or not before it is too long ago?  Now if it is recent, obviously you can check this.

Okay so there is a way to check it on coinmarketcap.

Now is there a way to check the exact price on a certain day years ago for a specific coin?

Say I want to find the exact price of a coin that is on coinmarketcap such as dash or maker on January 20, 2022 at say 8am US California time.  How would you be able to do this?  You can look at the chart for that coin on coinmarketcap and scroll your mouse but the issue is you can't go check hour by hour for a specific day.  Now if it is recent, you can check hour by hour but what if you want to do this for a coin price that is at least a year old?

What site do you use to check historical prices such as you can even go all the way back to when that coin was created and the price till now?

I used coinmarketcap back then and you could go back many years and it showed the high and low price for each specific day but also the closing price as well.  When I check coinmarketcap website now, that doesn't exist?  The website has changed a lot.  The only thing is there is a graph where you have to manually move your mouse slowly day by day but it only displays one price.  Does it still show high and low for each day and the closing price?  If not, what site do I go to check for this?

Coingecko/coinmarket cap. I usually check top coins for prices so those are enough for me, most of them usually date back to when the coin was made though I never really checked all of them since, well, I had no need to. I usually just check monthly/yearly price changes to see the general trend.

So which site has the high, low and close for each day?  Also which site allow you to go back to when the coin was created?  Some sites only allow you to go back a year or so.
Coinmarketcap actually has this option still, just press the "trading view" button they have on the upper side of the charts. It should display the charts you wanted with the highs/lows for each day.

You can try to use cryptorank for that. AFAIK, this site is even more accurate compared with CMC. It is also friendly users. You can also configure the layout easily, like what you wanted.

https://cryptorank.io/

I have also used another site like https://dropstab.com/

It gives you the easiest to track the price history of your crypto.

I recommend you to use cryptorank which is easy to use and it owns what you are looking for.

I guess you might not have fully understand what the OP was asking about. CMC no longer provides the historical price view for cryptocurrencies as it did before. Please check the OP's post again and try to find high and low prices, as well as the opening or closing price for any specific day in the past on the CMC.

This is what it looked like before:

OP, you can use: https://coincodex.com/

They provide historical prices that includes high and low prices for selected days. I've only checked historical prices for high capped assets like Bitcoin, ETH and the likes. I enjoyed Historical prices view on Coinmarketcap back in the day too because it helped me make more informed decisions while having future price outlook in mind. Good luck.

Before the historical tab on Coinmarketcap was available right now it changed but it's still available to use you just don't know where to find it.

To use the historical data you can find it on the menu historical snapshot and then choose a year under that tab you can see all listed coins but it is not yet the historical data you looking for you need to click the 3 dots on the right side of the coin and then click historical data.

Or go directly to this link below if you only looking for Bitcoin historical data.

You can edit that URL and replace bitcoin to any coins you want.

Coingecko and Coinmarketcap are very reliable site when it comes to looking at the historical price.
Though if you are a trader, you can also see this by just adjusting the price chart. In trading we also based in historical price for us to have a better view before we trade. The high and low also available in the price chart, though yes you have to adjust it manually and that’s how trading works.

I guess you are not selecting "All" in the date range, do select All or Log it will give you the historic data from the time the coin came into existence.

Coinmarketcap and coingecko are two reliable resourc s to check the historical data as you will be able to find all the details about coin like the current market supply, 24 hours market supply, daily/weekly/all time high and low price. You can check altcoin historical prices on sites like Coingecko or Coinmarketcap.

For Coingecko:
https://www.coingecko.com/

You can make use of crypto exchanges the coin is listed to check the price as well, especially if you know the exchange the coin was first listed, you can use the exchange. Because it is when a coin is listed on an exchange that the price would begin reading on the exchange.

I am also using coinmarketcap and just check out the ALL + LOG tab and that's the data coming from the start of the coin that you wanna see.

Maybe you haven't checked it yet so press those two buttons and you'll see the information from the coin you are about to check with its historical prices.

Another one is tradingview -> https://www.tradingview.com/markets/cryptocurrencies/
