The problem isn't which other coin can you mine apart from the ones you stated, rather the issue or question should be, how profitable will it be after spending such amount on equipments and energy?
Taking a good look on mining nowadays, the profit isn't in most cases encouraging, thus making most miners to consider buying the coin, holding or trading as the case may be.

You can also use it to mine Monero. But it would be wise if you consider the cost or electricity involved, as it might be unfavorable in addition to the fact you might end up with little or unfriendly profits. Don't be surprised that after due diligence by you, you will see reasons to buy and hold ETH rather than risking unprofitable mining.

It makes no sense now to buy these maps for mining or even to heat your house. This mining will bring you a few cents a day. Do you want something mining to look for new coins and even better buy this ETH or some other coin for this money and wait for "the to moon". I have long lost interest in mining

Before I mine ETH and ETC but now its not profitable to mine but if you want to mine a coin that has potential to go big i suggest you to mine Veil coin,  I switch to veil coin mining and you can stake your coin and mine at the same time Smiley

The price of it is not so high. It does not eat so much electricity. As for Ethereum mining, it is OK, it can be used for these purposes (25 MH/s). You can also use it for mining other altcoins - DASH, Monero, and Zcash work here as well.

Thanks a lot guys , I will keep it running just because I use it as a heater, I will burn this electricity anyway for heating so it is better to make some crypto . Happy mining!
You forgot to lock up this thread and most people do post above do still continue on sharing up on what to do with you rx470.

If this is already served as a heater then mining some coins is just a bonus but don't expect the profitability.

Thread should be locked.

I would search and try to find new promising projects... lately there are a lot of POW projects launching and some are very promising, we need to remember that crypto is always evolving... but it takes hard work!
A friend of mine has a 1050ti rig and is obtaining nice results, mining at the beginning, when the diffilcuty is low and accumulating for later sale
Search around and give it a shot, don't mind those that are always fudding so that they can keep diff. low... and mining ETH is of course not profitable with that GPU (if paying for electricity)

I recommend you to use some 3rd party software where you can benchmark your cards with any different algos and you will see all profit per day.

Like awesomeminer you can do benchmarking using their software to all algo available in their list.

After that check your statistics provider and check both whattomine and coinscalculators now you can check the coins tab and you will see all coins that your GPU can mine just click the profit so that it will sort from most profitable to low profitability coins.

Awesome miner will just keep your 470s on ethash, occasionally cnv4 (but not often).   It'll only touch a "new"/low difficulty coin if it's on a YIIMP pool...which your 470s will never get to if you have MPH and/or Nicehash enabled.

Basically it'll just bounce between Eth/ETC (occasionally expanse or music) on MPH, or whatever ethash shitcoin someone on Nicehash bought hash power for.  NV cards will bounce around all over the place though.

edit: last 30 days on a new 8x 470 build:

Eth: 69.38%
ETC: 13.33%
MPH CNV4: 12.51%
SupportXMR CNV4: 4.79%

These figures are pretty much spot on. However I don't think that Expanse or MUSIC will ever exceed profitability for the RX 470, maybe the R9 290 does better mining those since the DAG is different.

A month ago or so you could make more with XMR, simply because it used much less power than ETH. However it seems everybody caught on , on how to properly mod their RX series cards for XMR and the profitability went down and right now the profitability assuming varying power consumptions levels you make exactly the same amount, pretty much to the penny, per GPU.

So there really isn't much out there for these cards. Basically hope that ProgPOW is a go and maybe then it might increase profitability to the $1/day/GPU days of 2017.

Indeed, in any case, the cards are morally obsolete, if there is no free electricity, then any manipulations with them are a doubtful waste of time.

Sell graphics card and buy ETH. That is the most profitable now. You can mine only if you have VERY cheap electricity. One of the options is to find some new coin and mine it in a hope that one day price will go up, up, up...

Best advice!
But you're right that it all depends on the cost of electricity. If free, you can mine any coin for the future growth of value (ETH and forks, BEAM/GRIN, Monero and forks).
It is unlikely that now you can benefit directly from the use of your graphics card (except for the sale).

Guys whattomine says rx470 4gb should mine ETH or ETC , but is there a more profitable options ?
These cards now cost 100$ and can be used as a heater for a home. Any suggestions?

These graphics cards are more beneficial to the mining ethash algorithm. I think it makes no sense at this time to mine anything with such low prices. using a card as a home heater is not a very good idea. Better sell and trade for this money

I've dismantled one of my rigs of 570's, the other one is still standing there, unplugged, with a dead mobo, gathering dust. I'm not sure whether it would make any sense to buy a new mobo and spend time to set up a new Windows installation... The Polaris cards are yielding pretty much nothing nowadays.

Aye. It's a near-complete bust on Polaris. There are some possibilities, but you'll need to put in lots of effort to scrape pennies per card per week after electric.

The Polaris cards are still pretty good for day to day use and more GPU-intensive games and programs you might be using, but if you plan on getting a new mobo to use the card(s) for mining primarily it’s likely not worth it as the potential rewards are tiny as you just mentioned. I use an old RX 570 for gaming and it does fine for gaming at 1080p.

Ethereum is still a good viable choice if you happen to use automatic mining softwares like Nicehash. The reward in btc daily in which Nicehash pays has gone up from what I see.

My colleagues turned again on their rigs now that mining rewards are up daily. They are making 0.0007 btc daily with 180 Mhs. Probably there are other good options to mine with these cards so you have to check out yourself.

There is no secret mineable coin out there that is more profitable.

If your power is 10c kwh or less then you should make 2 nice and shiny dimes every day per GPU after expenses.

However this is based on the current ETH price. Keep in mind as the price increases so will the difficulty and in 2 weeks there is the block reward issuance reduction which will reduce your profits by 33%.

Its not worth selling the GPUs either because gamers are nickel and diming all the miners and lowballing them because "It was mined with".

The best solution now is to simply leave the rig offline and see what the future brings.

Sell graphics card and buy ETH. That is the most profitable now.
I reckon this opinion.

I have read people who's into a mining group who started selling their mining rigs to buy ETH and bitcoin. Difficulty and low profit made them realize to do this at least they are hoping for something better.
