Or take some cyanide. Works like a charm.
In case someone doesn't know what cyanide is it will kill you and the authorities investigating your death most likely. I know it's a joke but there are kids out there who will try anything without reading up on the subject first.

Where the hell is a kid gonna get cyanide?

If you're like me, sleep time is when all the day's stresses flood your brain and sometimes make it difficult to fall asleep. I've found that counting numbers (1+2 = 3 + 3 = 6 +4 = 10 etc etc) is distracting and has a soothing effect. If that fails, alcohol always helps.

What methods are you guys using?

Alcohol is a slippery slope.  I've had sleep issues most of my life.  Tried the melatonin route, didn't work.  I find having no clock in the room you can look at starts. Limit computer, tv, etc. time before bed.  I usually have a long hot shower before bed.  Make sure you have all the stuff you need done before the shower. (Curtains closed, doors locked, lights in house turned off, etc.)

My gf bought me some lavender sleep spray a while back.  You spray it on your pillows and its supposed to help you relax.  I find it does help.

There is always prescription sleeping pills. I've had really good success in the past with them, but I'm not a fan of taking them.

It usually takes me 30min to an hour to fall asleep... I'm 18, any ideas?
Physical workout, a walk for 30 min 1-2 hours before you go to bed should do the trick, but the harder you work out the easier you should fall asleep. Just 30 minutes would be wonderful for me Smiley
EDIT: also try to stay away from the computer (read a book) 30 minutes or so before you go to bed.

lol I'll workout a bit before I go to bed, not usually too keen on reading. xD
You don't have to read, you can do pretty much anything except sit in front of the TV/computer. The constant FPS updating makes your brain work harder and it will take longer for you to wait for it to calm down and therefore you'll have a harder time falling asleep.

alprazolam works for me too to get a good sleep.

nice Grin  clonazepam too  Grin
I also use clonezapam.

However I've realized what keeps me awake at night (had insomnia issues since I was 5) are my thoughts, my brain never shuts up. This is common among people with autism and a way to solve this is getting a heavy covers (they are talking 5-15KG (11-33 pounds)), this has helped a lot of people and I am going to try it when my plaster is off.

Have you guys tried listening ASMR? Look up the videos on youtube and put your headphones in. I find them very relaxing and they help me snooze off.

For those saying they use alcohol I'd be careful. Alcohol is not a good idea to help you get to sleep and is very easy to develop a problem this way.

Smoke a joint 2 to 3 hours before you want to sleep.

Good idea, but i have also been known to use this method to wake up in the morning  Tongue
If that don't work knock back a valium or 2 with a can of bourbon and goodnight see ya tomorrow.

Note: not a good idea to mix alcohol with pharmaceuticals but it does the trick, also if you need to do this more than once a week seek another safer option.
