On, what's the highest merit, It's always been 50 as max and you can find that more on the BITCOIN 10TH ANNIVERSARY THREAD CONTEST hosted by Theymos few years back. Can someone quote that thread? I'll do well to update once i see it.

You mean this thread 10th anniversary art contest ?

Well, because you might not be getting merits doesn't necessarily imply that others aren't as well and i say this not with respect to OP but, on a general scale. So, merits not flowing as expected simply means, you aren't getting the point or doing enough to impact on the forum and as such, your bound to experience a decline in the number of merits you get within a defined period on an individual base. So, it's not often merits but, the users.

i wondered what was the highest Merit given on Bitcointalk ?
and is it hard to get Merits this days ?
50 is max.

Sometimes writing a good post is not all that you need, you need a bit of good luck and connection, I've seen a lot of shit posts from the elite on this forum but still get merited, it's kind of trade by barter these days " merit my post I merit your post" kind of agreement.
Connection. Huh  Cheesy  Grin  Roll Eyes

There are a lot of newbies out there with good constructive posts but they are tagged as merits prostitutes and not given the credits they deserved...I have some pretty good posts I feel are not given the credits it deserves.
Newbies should enjoy any merit they receive and keep their mood positively and fresh. Complain or being negative is bad. Not all of posts they think are quality have good quality.

Sometimes writing a good post is not all that you need, you need a bit of good luck and connection,

I understand in which direction your opinion is going, but it is wrong to think that the only condition for a post to get merit is just to be good in any sense of the word. You should also keep in mind that certain parts of the forum like Altcoins or Bitcoin Discussion are mostly ignored from merit sources, so there is where most quality posts are cluttered with a bunch of spam and practically invisible.

I've seen a lot of shit posts from the elite on this forum but still get merited, it's kind of trade by barter these days " merit my post I merit your post" kind of agreement.

I’ve also seen posts that objectively don’t deserve even 1 merit, and they’ve got 50 - but here again we come to the conclusion that quality isn’t the only factor influencing how someone will perceive a post, because sometimes members reward posts that are sarcastic or fun - and in the end it all comes down to everyone being able to decide for themselves what to do with their merits.

There are a lot of newbies out there with good constructive posts but they are tagged as merits prostitutes and not given the credits they deserved...I have some pretty good posts I feel are not given the credits it deserves.

Of course there are always those who are a bit invisible even though they write good posts, but again the question arises where are these posts located?
As for your posts, I can see at a glance that a significant part of your posts is in the Gambling discussion, and that board is not exactly a place where a significant number of merits are shared (at least it seems so to me).

And no it isn't hard to get merit on bitcointalk if you're here for genuine curiosity/discussion rather than things like giveaways (exclusively).

and is it hard to get Merits this days ?
For some yes for other easy. For me it's not so easy cause it will depend on how you interact or impart knowledge on some topics posted here. Also if you could open an interesting topic or idea which is totally unique thats a good plus to some readers and can easily give you merits. Or

Your response to some question is good and direct to the point and sometime humorous answer get merits too.

Nothing is difficult if you work hard in making posts that are constructive and beneficial for others, I am sure you will easily get merit like everyone else for every post.
But well for newbies this will be difficult, but if you keep trying and it takes time to understand in this forum.
There are several threads for how to get merit, you can see them there and learn them slowly so that they are easy to understand in each content that is created.

and is it hard to get Merits this days ?
It depends on you to be honest. If you hard worker and really you want to earn merit by following some constructive ways then it’s very easy for you. Again if you are too lazy and just want to earn merit by mouth, make crowd that nobody don't give any merit to your profile the. It’s really very hard for you.

For example, I am talking about mine. Few months ago I got some merits frequently, but nowadays I am very busy IRL and can not give more time in forum. My merit earning nowadays near 0. So always do hard work beside your need, hope it will be easy for u also.

There are lies, damned lies and statistics. MTwain
<…>
As mentioned, 50 merits is the maximum per TX. That amount has been awarded on 578 occasions (0,13% of all meriting TXs). If we delimit the timeframe to 2021, then we can account for 12 TXs of the maximum value (0,06% of all meriting TXs).

You have earned your 11 merits on your local board, so in case you want to get an overview of how many merits are awarded there, and what type of posts, you can take a peek at the following:

Thanks a lot that was the answer i asked for, Thanks for the link too that was helpful

i found it hard to get Merits but i will try to post useful posts to achieve that .

Trust me, if you try to chase for merits then it would be relatively harder for you to earn them. Contribute quality posts or share your experience with cryptocurrency in general as it might garner the attention and focus of other members, which could garner you a merit.

The more you think about earning them, the more that you will be pressured into posting helpful topics which could hinder you further. Do not treat it as a competition, treat it as a learning experience and mechanism for you to improve your post quality.

Like what I have mentioned, if you contribute quality stuff, then merits would be the one chasing you! Good luck and have a good day.

If you are wondering how many merits you can give to someone at once, that number is 50 - and this is also the maximum number that one user can give to another in a period of 30 days. If your question goes in the direction that you are interested in who got the most merits so far - you can see the statistics at this link -> https://bpip.org/

As for the question of whether it is easy or not, some will say that it is extremely easy - others will say the exact opposite Wink
