The highest price I saw was 3000BTC per Zec, which was insane, but this is crypto world anything is possible

it was not insane, because it was done with shitty volume, anyone can pump anything if the volume is very low, the zetacash involved in those high price were in the order of 10^-4 or ^-3 magnitude, very pointless just to cause more panic buying for nothing

I think that the exact price was 3299 BTC, but that doesn't really matter. What matters is that a certain group of whales is playing with the future of cryptocurrencies...

So for you the future of crypto-currencies lies in ZCash ? You're deceiving me that time. The sole future of crypto-currencies is Bitcoin.

You didn't get the message here. I was implying that speculations such as ZCash and pumping s*itcoins every now and then will only bring more regulations on cryptoworld's scene.

Hopefully then. Well, that might be true, but I'm convinced that there will always have some reputable exchanges to operate under the hood. If none does that, then I'll open a true exchange, not registered and paying zero taxes to anyone.

I never when i saw the volume. Not only the price matters. Hahahaha. The devs is just hyping all of you so that you believed on zec. It will be an easy job for the devs if some whale ate his bait. The high starting price is just a trap because no one holds huge volume of zec as of now.  Grin

You're right, volume is the most important trading indicator, but there's something you're missing - price (manipulation or otherwise) can be viewed a psychological indicator.

I'm not a hugely experienced trader by any means, but I think crypto trading is more about psychology than anything else. In effect, it turns into a mind game with different parties with different interests playing small (or in some cases, rather grand scale) games with each other.

I was there when that happened. If I remember correctly, it was something like a mZEC, or maybe even less. Certainly not a plain ZEC.

or the ZEC guys selling to themselves. or poloniex was buying the coins. i don't think that a sane person really bought this.

or is it possible that someone wanted to collect coin #1? is it even possible to know if a coin is the first coin ever?

So we have seen ZEC go as high as 3k BTC per ZEC which is just insane and nonsense. If you go to Poloniex and look at the all time high you'll see it went to 3.3k+

Anyone knows what was the highest amount sold and who the hell would buy for that high of a price? it must be some kind of troll buying tiny amounts or something.
You have answered your question already. In fact it was a tiny amount less than 1 zec was in exchange at the time when price skyrocketed to 3.3k btc
