He was more of a Satoshian.
His view follows the more bit orientated view of Satoshi.
Interpret that however you want to Wink

I think it's fairly obvious that he's a right-wing authoritarian.

If the legendary first-ever comment from Satoshi on the Genesis block is any indication...

"The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks."

I don't think I have ever read anything that would swag my opinion one way or the other but If I was to take a guess, I would say a left leaning libertarian. I really don't have any specific reason for this guess other then that is my gut feeling from what I have read.

My question would have been: If he was a legit hardcore, anarko anti regularization guy, why he didn't make BTC at the level of privacy that CryptoNote based coins deliver?

The important thing is the technology, as the technology made us more free. I think that's what has been important for Satoshi.
You can read back on the mailinglist, but basically he told something along the lines of "this will give us some years of freedom"
At the time, it seemed convenient to use BTC trough TOR, if you wanted privacy.

Whatever the political view was, he/they planned it so well. I'm sure he/they wasted a lot of neurons, energy, time and effort to make the

brilliand Bitcoin as currently is, and such things that demand endurance and effort worth it...

He was hardly right wing was he? I'm not sure he ever stated his stance, but I think we can safely say he believes in freedom and fairness.

That's probably right for all we know about Satoshi, we still don't know that much other than his interest in crytography, his education based on how he wrote his whitepaper, and that he ran away around the time of Gavin going to the FBI and the rise of the Silk Road/Wikileaks incident.
Kind of tricky to base an ideology out of that.

i heard he left bitcoin development and bitcointalk because he was so jaded that ancaps and right libertarians took over his project. it's really a damn shame. (just kidding Grin)

Na that was because Gavin went to the Feds and the FBI so if anything its because he was too anarchist to have government around sniffing up his identity.

Presume a Libertarian and a Cryptoanarchist but at the least a Cypherpunk which is any activist advocating widespread use of strong cryptography as a route to social and political change. Originally communicating through the Cypherpunks electronic mailing list, informal groups aimed to achieve privacy and security through proactive use of cryptography. Cypherpunks have been engaged in an active movement since the late 1980s.

I wouldn't know for certain but he did develop a system that can be traced to Timothy C. May's 1988 publication The Crypto Anarchist Manifesto

The basic ideas are in this quote from A Cypherpunk's Manifesto (Eric Hughes, 1993):

Privacy is necessary for an open society in the electronic age. ...

We cannot expect governments, corporations, or other large, faceless organizations to grant us privacy ...

We must defend our own privacy if we expect to have any. ...

Cypherpunks write code. We know that someone has to write software to defend privacy, and ... we're going to write it. ...
