i think we can have many news on bitcointalk and we can learn many things on here and we can use another sites in out there to know what happen in crypto currency. sometime i am following twitter, coin telegraph, cryptrader to know the news or want to check about one or more coins and so far it works good.

i think we can use trade history in each of exchanges to know or to keep track our crypto currency investment, but you can make your own data to track your investment and your profit.

I don't go for many sites to keep a track of crypto related news, developments. I just mainly follow cointelegraph.com, steemit and medium articles on cryptos. These sites often have experienced crypto writers who do in-depth analysis of new projects and also share official news updates of various crypto projects. Especially cointelegraph. And of course bitcointalk.org is the first and main site for all crypto news, updates for any enthusiast/investor.

If you are a trader then you probably want to have access to live data. For live trades on multiple exchanges for bitcoin i go with bitcoin wisdom. There is a big chart that you can play with once you select the exchange that you are going for and you can see the orderbook of all listed exchanges as well, all in one site.

Cryptocompare does a similar job, except it's got everything ranging from reviews, coin info, and live trade feeds.

A go to site for every single cryptocurrency investor/enthusiast should be coinmarketcap. It essentially lists everything you need about the altcoins thaty ou want to buy in/take a deeper look at. For example price, total circulation, etc.

Coingecko also is a good one, it provides deeper analysis of the rankings.

I also look closely at charts to time entries and exits.

I am a trader and i am practicing trading in poloniex. That is a great website for me for the people who want to trade because it is a popular exchange and it has a lot of altcoins there that you can choose and trade and they are almost all active and because of the good maintenance for the coin, you will not have a higher chance of losing and if you just pick the good coins then you can make money continuously.
