A pumpkin mines 27 hours a night
I don't know if this has been mentioned before, I didn't find it when skimming though the replies. But: The scene with the red/bloody eyes in One Hour Photo. Robin Williams is a great actor anyways, but this already creepy movie just got terrifying. I remember when the movie was on TV and I was just falling asleep. When I woke up, that scene came on. Nightmares ensued...

Upon release in 1992, Mikey was banned in many countries and is still banned today in the UK. Many graphic scenes of torture and murder contributed to the ban, as well as the James Bulger murder of 1993, when two young children tortured and murdered a toddler. The film narrates the life of Mikey Holt; a sociopathic nine year old who horrifically murders his foster parents and friends. Many of his carers seem to die in “accidents”, causing Mikey to move from family to family. The plot of the film mostly covers Mikey’s attempts to avoid suspicion, by killing people who he suspects to know about his murderous tendencies.

The scene from Hannibal where Dr Lecter cuts a piece of Ray Liotta's brain while he's sat at the table, alive, with the top of his skull sawed off. Lecter fries the piece of brain in a pan and then feeds it back to Ray.  Cheesy

Pan's Labyrinth when the 'Capithan sews his mouth and then takes the shot of whiskey which immediately rushes out the gauze pad.

I'm cringing right now just thinking about it.

The opening scene to Cube scared the crap out of me.  I don't watch horror because it doesn't really scare me but that opening scene and the way it comes out of nowhere is just creepy.

The scene from the movie Michael Clayton where the two hitmen paralyze the victim but leave him conscious while they inject him with an overdose.
It was just so creepy.

Also, a short documentary I watched about how animals are treated in China. They apparently skin them alive because it comes off easier that way.
There's this one shot of a poor little thing with all the skin peeled off its face but its eyelashes somehow still attached, just lying there panting and blinking and looking pitiful on a pile of others just like it.

The Red Wedding was pretty shocking. Especially if you're too stupid to figure out why it's unusual for someone to be wearing chainmail at a wedding feast.

I'm not squeamish when it comes to movies, there's always the "it's just a movie" thought in my head but the head-smashing scene with the fire extinguisher in the movie Irreversible was very realistic. Brutal.

I actually don't find a lot disturbing these days but Game of Thrones red wedding scene was a mindfuck for me because they normally never show that much death and blood even on those stupid police dramas, I'm also not particularly happy with the news because whenever there's a murder story or war going on in the world they have a disturbing fetish for either showing photographs of absolutely everything to shock you on purpose or they make these unnecessary dramatisations.

Actually, nevermind, Game of Thrones is tame in comparison to that, because at least the purpose of it is to tell you a story, the news just use it as a method of trying to shock you.

Prior to puberty, the whorehouse scene in the barn stalls (seriously) in the very first movie I ever paid to see with my girlfriend, later my ex-wife: Ode to Billy Joe. I couldn't figure out what they were all doing and it scared the shit outta me that all movies at theaters may like that one.

The eating of live monkey brains scene in Faces of Death, also comes to mind.

I still haven't figure out Body Double, with the ending way too weird.

Redbud!

A Serbian Film is obviously a very insane movie, but definitely has it's charms. The feeling and looks are great with very good acting.

A Serbian Film is a tasteless and vulgar movie. The film is just meant for people who are mentally deranged. I don't know why people are praising that movie as a cult classic.

The baby rape scene, the main character raping his own son still sickens me to this day.

Most disturbing scene I've *ever* seen on TV was the one from Little House on the Prairie when there's the fire at the blind school and you see someone trying to escape with Mary and Adam's baby but they can't make it out. In fact, that scene put me off that show forever. I can't watch it anymore. That scene was just very graphic to me. Normally, I can eat while watching Bones, CSI, etc. - very little bothers me. But that..ugh. Just ugh. It's on Youtube if you haven't seen it before and want to be scarred forever.

Yeah, I never understood why she just didn't throw that baby out the window to the people waiting below...

This goes way back to Canadian television around 1970. First topless scene ever on prime time tv. Show was called "The Manipulators".

Gathered around the television with the whole family and this bare bosom appears. Silence and red faces everywhere.

On that note, if we're going to take context into consideration, I remember one time when I was maybe 12 or 13 and my family had my grandmother over for dinner. My sister picked up a movie for us to watch from Blockbuster. Well, she selected a comedy that turned out to be a really dirty, raunchy movie and, while fucking hilarious, it was incredibly awkward!!! I can't remember what movie it was though.

Oh shittt I forgot about the human centipede, yeah that was seriously fucked up. The part where he "feeds" them and then the guy has to go to the bathroom eventually... really disturbing.

Alright, let's hear it - what were some of the most disturbing, terrifying, upsetting, etc scenes that you remember from a movie or TV show?

I'll lead out with the rape scene from the American version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. It was absolutely horrific. I felt like my heart was going to explode out of my chest when I saw it in the theaters.

Your turn.

The movie Cannibal Holocaust. The whole thing is disturbing, it was actually banned in some countries. It includes numerous real scenes of animal slaughter. I didn't watch the whole thing, had enough after about 30 min.

I remember everyone telling me the Exorcist was like so horrific and disturbing and scary, then I watched it and I was like wow are you f-ing kidding me this is boring as shit. It's like 90% a priest reading to an ugly bitch from the bible and her cursing him out.

I think it has a lot to do with what generation you are from though... by my time, there were much much more explicitly graphic and disturbing movies out, (think of stuff like SAW, etc) so the Exorcist was a walk in the park.

Also, the scene in Saving Private Ryan where the guy is screaming no no no you don't have to do this wait!!!! while the nazi slowly stabs him to death.

there are rankings of disturbing scenes, if anyone is interested. Just googled that.

From my memories:

many scenes of the Caligula movie, like the one that he torture his loyal servant then cut off his penis and send to h=the wife of the dead.
the exorcism, many scenes, like the crucifix masturbation and the 360 degree neck(but i watched the movie at the 13's, take it into account)
embodiment of evil, when a girl cut his own meat and eats it

and others that I cant remember.

Some gore filmes that i've never watched:

Salon, the 120 days of Sodon
cannibal holocaust
a serbian film

So many good material for me to watch. That Serbian Film looks interesting. I found out it is about an aging porn star agrees to participate in an "art film" in order to make a clean break from the business, only to discover that he has been drafted into making a pedophilia and necrophilia themed snuff film. I will try to watch this one.
