1. the whole market will go down
2. top 3 altcoins will reach new highs, middle range altcoins keep the same price

I don't think that the whole market will go down, as we all know if bitcoin goes down altcoin goes up. So many altcoin especially, those coins are really potential that are listed into the top 10 coins at coinmarketcap will really goes up and for sure to all who hold altcoins and then their coins suddenly up well, good for them.1. the whole market will go down

Well, the last time there was a big crash (2014), some investors got out of alts as well, they just got scared - that's because MtGox collapsed, people lost money, and Silk Road got closed down as well.
So - it really depends on WHY bitcoin falls to $700. If it is because another exchange crashes and burns like MtGox, it will take down the alt space with it.
But if bitcoin declines because it is being overtaken by ETH or some other coin, alts may well prosper as people seek the next big thing.
