I think DeFi hype not end I think DeFi new projects will continue. My opinion DeFi tokens survive for the next few month.Because trends in the cryptocurrency market can change at any time. I'm sure Defi will help bitcoin pump up.

At the end of August, the volume reached a record of $8 billion, the September maximum was $6 billion, last week the trading volume fell to $3 billion. On September 1 the trading volume on Uniswap was almost $1 billion, on October 22 $234 million. Trading volumes at DEX decreased by 41% so it looks like DeFi hype fade away. So now what will happen to most of the DeFi project? They will be valueless or there will be another version of DeFi hype?
The projects that popped up just to chase the hype of the defi trend without any solid plans or project will definitely fade out and close while the real defi projects will continue to work especially if they continue to work and improve their platforms with time.

There was never a doubt in peoples mind that the hype will one day be done with, however just because there was hype and it was a lot of money that exchanged hands, doesn't mean that its normal right now or down.

It is still high, it was too high to sustain that much but it is still high today, which is why I think it is important that we realize defi is not going anywhere and dex is not going anywhere. Sure from 1 billion to 200 million is a big fall and I understand that you may feel doomie about it but the reality is that 200 million dollars still exchanged hands and that is what matters.

We know have a whole market that took a chunk of trading volume from CEX and moved it to new DEX's and that can't be taken away anymore. Which is why I believe investing into them is not really a bad idea neither.

Most important thing when building project is how to get and keep trusted from investor by make potential coin and have worth price higher than ICO, but when have trouble with price drop and not have planning to buy back you will left by investor and never trust you anymore. This happen to DeFi coin project right now, just monkey business pump few awhile and later back to lower price. We enjoy with DeFi coin about two months and now there are many DeFi coin become nothing with lower price after developer have get much money from investor. Now when have new DeFi coin launching less investor wanna buy and interested for investing again because they have get scam early.

just like usually when the hype fades the demand will just get normal and there'll be no such thing as people selling it overpriced since the supply is much more many.
But, honestly nothing that significant gonna happend. Most of Defi projects are indeed using the name "defi" to market themselves but they are quite good enough to stand using their own system.

Some DeFi still profitable. Now, I am not understand crypto Markets fully. I know so much acam in DeFi. But, also too much profitable project available in DeFi. I can't ignore DeFi for this reason.
If you don't know or fully understand the market, why would you say that some DeFi is still profitable at the moment? In fact, some people have said that DeFi has started to fail the Hype, even though you can't ignore some DeFi projects that you think can still benefit you this year.
The current defi project there are indeed many cases and hopefully it will not have a bad impact on the development of defi in the cryptocurrency world because this has the potential to make the cryptocurrency name worse because many have lost their money because they participated in the defi project.

Lol before now I have known that the hype will die off. And it’s not just me, a lot of people were aware of that. New projects come and people start hyping them and making money through, once it reaches a high price they will start selling their tokens and dump on the project. That’s the same thing that has happened with DeFi, at first when they started everyone was hyping them all and now it has started crashing.

If you told most people that UniSwap would be at this level today they wouldn’t have believed, they thought that it will keep increasing and they were rushing in lol.

DeFi projects are still good and some of them will have a long term potential it's the bad actors that people should weed up, right now so many scam reports are concentrated on DeFi and it's giving a bad reputation to the industry, it's saturated it's hard to tell who among these projects are true and legit, this is happening because there scammers and bad actors who'll try to pretend that they have legit projects.

That's big problem for those DeFi projects that are listed only on uniswap exchange, I don't use uniswap to buy or sell few DeFi projects that I invested on, they are listed on several top exchanges too so I have no problem with uniswap, that's a new lesson to learn here, don't invest on DeFi projects that are only trading on uniswap or dex exchange only
I have participated in so many airdrops of DeFi projects, but so far I have not received any rewards and therefore I have not been able to use uniswap. Regarding the authenticity of the defi projects themselves, this is a completely different question, but as for uniswap, it is most likely an exchange that will only be used by large investors in order to maintain their anonymity. The fact is that I checked a lot of information on this matter and it turns out that many are unhappy with the very large UniSwap commissions, which will be difficult for an ordinary user of cryptocurrency to pay.

It's not only DeFi projects that are suffering presently, majority of altcoins that aren't DeFi are suffering too, we just have to hold tight, Bitcoin keeps surging and that's enough for us, when bitcoin bullish is over altcoins will take over, and after that another long bear market will begin, it's possible to make insane profits from projects that aren't even that big

You always need to do deep research before you invest your money.

The hypes might be over now and investors might be looking for another trending types of investment, those project that don't have any other usages aside from being hypes while DeFi still hyping too much. Now more projects are fading and no interest have been shown waiting for the time to completely forgotten be died naturally.

Over? Well it depends, Chainlink still looks profitable to me, it's back at 11$ to 12$ range now compare to few weeks ago, the secret to promising DeFi projects are their use cases, Oracle projects are high demanding today but many DeFi projects are just like Ponzi

what happen to all the ico projects with such ico hype? the same thing will happen here, in the midst of defi hype there were good and genuine ones and i believe those good and legit ones will continue to develop and strive for more success while the ones that were only created for hype and speculations purpose will slowly die away, this is how i see it.

Not all DeFi projects are in trouble because they are very useful in this space, so many DeFi projects will go bad or died painfully but some will survive, it's our responsibility to find DeFi projects that have very good use cases if we really have interest in them, it's complete stupidity to avoid DeFi because most DeFi projects are scam or dumping.
unfortunately nowadays most DeFi projects are scams and only a few really good projects still have a price on the exchange because they have a concept that can give a lot of people a profit and that's what ends up making a lot of investors still support it, but I'm sure it's only temporary because once DeFi doesn't really benefit them investors will stop supporting the project.

I believe there was a massive sell off from different DeFi projects and few turn scam, sold off tokens and run away with investors money, this isn't Uniswap fault but since uniswap success is from DeFi projects it will surely affects the exchange

I should have sold my UNI token when it hit $8, but can you blame this little soul for wanting to extend his luck, from getting the 400 UNI token for free that's worth $12000 when I got it my wallet, people should moderate their greed that includes me, not all that glitters are gold and not all with DeFi on their features has a huge potential, people should look deeper on a project, remember investors can withdraw their liquidity support on tokens listed in DeFi exchange that will result in a huge drop in the market.

Nothing serious just that the buss is over and now people are beginning to stop investing in anything DeFi related. It'll take sometime before they get back the momentum they had few months back. Of course another hype will replace that if DeFi just as we did have with ICO, IEO etc sine other technology would be so hyped that nobody would even remember what DeFi were all about. That's how the altcoin market works which is why we're advices to trade carefully.

Defi project was a huge disappointment for crypto and it's community such major drops are unacceptable and it's a pure sign of scam, people rushed to buy and many of the investors were unable to bear the loss I was literally saddened after this shit project foul played the crypto users. Nothing will happen, only bad DeFi projects will die slow, all you have to do is make sure the DeFi project you invested on is not a ponzi or pump and dump, Chainlink should be affected that much if DeFi is bad but no, Chainlink has better use case than many DeFi projects, choose wise

DeFi could make a comeback after bitcoin reach a new ATH, probably 19k or more, we might see a new altcoin season that will trigger massive ride for altcoins including DeFi projects too, let's relax and hold very good DeFi projects only, ChainLink is a good example, I believe this project has more than it's currently showing

There will be another version of defi project. In my opinion if the next defi project will much more mature compared with the current defi projects that are available in the market. People were starting to realize the risk to keep their money in the platform. They have started to secure their money from there.
People were seeing uniswap as the same with the dex right now. So many scam coins attacked uniswap too.
People are looking for a new trend.

I agree with this because the DeFi project trend will be over, replacing it with the new trend. Every project in the crypto will evolve to better, but there will be much hype for every new project in the future. And that can make people see the chance for them to make money again. That will happens many times, and we will have time to see the new trend will come to us and give people the opportunity to make money. We need to know when to enter that new trend and leave the trend before the trend is ending.

That could be an end to an overbearing hype about DeFi, i don't mean to say that DeFi is making people lose investor sentiment. After the events that took place before such as: ICO, IEO, DeFi,... I find that after DeFi there will be a new trend appearing to attract people to join the market.

Just like the past trend (ICO and IEO) defi project will end up the same with them. The popularity slowly fade away and will be cover by another trend that will come in crypto world.

Those who ride on defi projects and manage to earn is lucky enough to avoid ending up in scam projects. Otherwise its a lesson learn for investors that is greedy to profit even without knowledge on this kind of investment. Sooner or later we can see another hype that can attract people to invest and ride again, and history will repeat itself.

It was hype about defi and yfi defi project success makes more hype in the DeFi market but now all hype is gone and you can see condition of all defi coin which is big dump. Everything is going down and people makes a big loss in defi projects. So many scams coming in the name of defi and uniswap decentralized exchange also helping to make people scammed by the scam project. Anyone create a new token and listed on uniswap. And people got stucked after buy. Such a bad reputation for crypto market due to theses irresponsible exchanges who don't care about customer.

I think this is just the beginning of DeFi, indeed DeFi products from the current market have a lot of successful names. But all that happened was just an exaggeration, agreeing that DeFi is good, but we are still at an evolutionary stage, user reach is still limited. I see in the coming time there will be a lot of big changes in the market, when there are a lot of news surrounding and the participation of many corporations or companies in this market.

First of all, Defi was expected to fall sooner or later but the Paypal cryptocurrency integration announcement spicy it up because the investors believed Bitcoin to experience a surge in price which is what happened and with the switch in decision of investors I expect some Defi project to vaporize very soon while some utilized and good supported Defi project survive.

It's just a shame that DeFi hype goes away pretty fast, ICO hype lasted longer than DeFi hype, what a waste, after few good DeFi projects we started seeing huge loads of scams/pump and dump DeFi projects, very soon another thing will replace DeFi, my advice is to be smart and always see every opportunity as short term only, make what you want to make and exit before it's too late

It will follow the same pattern others crypto are. Those that do not have a working product or a fully functional time will fade away with time. The project will be dead and token will be valueless. Others that have and continuously developed will continue to do so and will stand the test of time. It is no longer new that people are now back into investing in a project with a lot of prospects and not on mere hype
It seems that the Defi project is more accurately called an issue transfer project Smiley where every diversion is always booming with a fast time and will not last long. In fact, their mission is only to ensure that each investor can control their assets in a controlled manner.

That fast?
Well then, ICO made a better hype in 2 years.  Grin

What will happen next? Same with ICO. Scam projects, dust and just repeating everything to gain some money but without a real goal. Until it is forgotten.
Then something new will pop out again.
This is a good lesson. Stay with old school. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other good projects out there that still need support.

Before I used to think the hype is gradually fading away, that is, there is still some hype left but after reading this, I am afraid because there seems to be no hype left again. To answer the question of what will happen to those Defi projects now, let's go down to memory lane to the era of ICOs, we saw how massive it got till it crashes, and thus exposing a lot of projects wherein a good number of them were built on hype and just few were built with good use case. Also those with good use case are still around while those built on hype are nowhere to be found; having this in mind we can relate it to the DeFi ecosystem, that is, the good ones will still stay and the scam ones will fade away. To make it more worst, once a new trend starts attention will be channelled to it thus leading to more death of some Defi projects.

I think it's better to focus on good quality/standards than quantity. Quantity can then grow from the quality or uncompromised standard.

Quality DeFi/Crypto projects need to adhere to these crypto principles:
*Decentralization
*Transparency
*Immutablity
*Privacy/Anonymity
*Censorship resistant
*Permissionless/trustlessness
*Safety/security
*Rules
*Consensus
*Deflation
Etc

The projects should exist like autonomous beings guided by their good rules/principles rather than beings controlled by a puppet with contrary rules/principles.

It is difficult to say something about this yet, but perhaps now there is a recession for the defi sphere, but I don't think so, because every day I see more and more cryptocurrency companies that are mastered and focused on the defi sphere, and therefore I think that nothing has been lost with the defi sphere, and most likely there will still be a hype around the defi sphere, so we need to wait a little and it will already be visible there.

The DeFi projects will replace by the new trend. We can see what was happened with the ICO and IEO before. After the trend is over, the crypto market will not have moves significant, but some projects are still running and try to convince people to invest with them. You need to know when to get out of the trend before the party is over because if you still inside the project, you will get scam sooner or later.

Once the cleansing is over and the scams and vaporware projects are out of the market, it's very liekly that the legit, profitable and solid projects will stay in the market.

Unlikely that we see another wave of DeFi projects flooding the market like the last one. But i think we could see something similar to the ICO hype bubble from a few years ago, that once it popped, new ICO's kept showing up but at much slower rate, and investors still remained keen on putting capital where they see potential.

Maybe it will resemble last year's IEO hype, which grew hot but ended very quickly. We have to accept such a fact, many DeFi tokens have dropped 90% in value and I think it's over.

I think defi will still continue but with a gradual and not direct development like yesterday's hypr, because no one is really serious at first just pumping and throwing it away. but in the future defi will be used for payment purposes and many more, I haven't read it fully but defi will be fine in my opinion.

Nice question! You made me realized suddenly that why it seems that news about defi are minimal now. The subreddits I joined in are also now silent. Hmm, is this already a sign that the hype train is now over? Well, for me it was. All is just like the 2017 ICO craze. People keep on buying what sprouts and when the bubble bursts then that's the time for them to dump. Good for those investors to dump fast but how about the small ones who spend only few bucks in hope to get a million? It is definitely the bad picture of the story Undecided. I guess some of them are regretting by now, how unfortunate for them to learn the hard way.

It seems like Defi time has been over now and Defi coins like YFI , UNI , Compound, etc , are bleeding, Everything got an era and bubble would burst eventually and only good ones would survive it , It is like 2017 and ICO times, ost of them died but good ones could survive it.

Most of the projects are already on the value to become valueless but still there are projects which are trusted to have the potential by the community.Volume of the decentralized exchanges are expected to fall and it has been on hold due to the airdrop for a while but now the token itself lost 70% of its value from its all time high.

Project Defi is not one of the right solutions at this time, only as a seasonal business that can profit while it continues to be a coin that is no longer valuable in the future, if there is no strong development from the Defi team itself such as getting a special partner to promote their coins, I think it only takes a little while for DeFI coins to be abandoned by investors. Even now, it has been proven that there are many Defi coins whose prices have fallen by more than 100% from their initial price and made many investors experience enormous losses, there is no seriousness in the team as well as the development of this coin in the future makes investors not look to Defi coins anymore.

Take profits now if you still can, its possible that defi projects will dump more, right now uniswap is not in a very good shape, 40% of volume is off the dex, that is not a very good sign, it means that many defi projects are dumping their tokens already

The situation with DeFi is very similar to the bubble that was associated with the ICO. For sure, strong projects will remain on the market, but the majority will not last and will disappear. I think this is not the end of the hype on DeFi and we will see more projects trying to appear in this market. However, at this point it will be very difficult to attract investors. I think most eyes are looking on the top 50 cryptocurrencies and that a new bull run is coming. Investing in stable projects will now be much more reliable than risking with startups.

DeFi may transform or modify in something new, otherwise the projects will gravitate to 0.

The same thing that happened to ICO in 2017 and 2018, what goes up must come down and now its time for defi projects to readjust its value and hype, just correction? the answer is no i believe, take a good look at YFI Defi project, the price is down and some are already in trouble because of this project, the truth is i'm not comfortable around defi projects because their rewards are too high, not real i suppose, they are almost like high yield investment plan

No new fresh money coming in on DeFi market, Most of the money are already staked on different financing investments that has a lock-up period. We all know that the DeFi will be stop soon because most of the money entering on this new investment territory are aiming for a quick profit return. This is the point where the majority of traders are already on-board on the train.

The hype is not over. I believe there will be a second round of this hype once those token lock-up on liquidity pool are released. By that time, there will be a lot of free money that will flow on new investment.

I think DeFi's new projects will continue to emerge because demand is still relatively high. In my opinion, existing tokens survive is good enough for the next few years because trends in the cryptocurrency market can change at any time.

They will be dumped as people were leaving and cash out their money from the defi market. The situation becomes even worst than before caused by some hacked cases that happened with the defi platforms.
harvest finance can't even recover the stolen amount and that has given a lot of lesson for the investors never try to put all of their money into the crap platform.
Finance platform will die soon.
There will be something to replace it. We will see that but im sure that will happen shortly.

Same as what i stand since August when these coins suddenly appear from nowhere and Hyping each coins with really unbelievable value.
I had said that when these is over many of the Defi coin will die like what happens in Altcoin season last 2018 when i think it is happening now.

All the Manipulators had already bagged their money and all that remaining volume in trading are from those who had been trapped and finding way how to recover from their losses.

Yes I saw the news on cointelegraph, I'm sorry to say this but I believe the DeFi hype is finally over, we all understand what UNISWAP is to all DeFi projects, it's the number one dex that became massive success because of DeFi projects and here we are today, I smell nothing else than massive sell off inbound
There will be remaining coins that stays in line and those are the legit and will stay regular in this market.
they will survive but many won't.
